It seems like the screen only works if I turn it on exactly at the same time as I turn on the computer.So i need to push both the screen power button and the computer power button at the same time.I am not sure, it just seems to work when I do it. What can cause this weird problem?
View 2 Repliesif I keep ctrl button pressed and then click and drag with left mouse button (selecting text or using photoshop) this drag is sometimes "sticky" - when I finally release the mouse button system does not stop dragging. It behaves as I would still hold the left mouse button pressed... To release it I need to click again.

In any browser.... they didn't work in the previous versions before i updated both Firefox and Chrome.As far as security software that I'm using, I've tried disabling all of it, and still have the same issues. Those programs are: Spybot S&D, AVG Free, Comodo firewall.Here's a good example of a java thing on a site that won't work for me.Covers.com has a login / password thing in the top right corner of their main page. I punch in my name and password, and neither hitting enter nor clicking on the Login link do anything. But I am experiencing this type of issue on many other sites. I can get on my laptop and go to the same sites and I have no issues, so it's something to do with this OS. Unfortunately, my laptop charger was lost so that's not an option. Plus, I'd really like to be able to use my tower for everything I do on the web.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if this problem is for the hardware or OS forum, as I'm not sure where the problem stems from.Recently I've been having trouble with certain keys on my keyboard, as well as my fingerprint reader. Some of my keys don't work very well at all, and some work only sporadically. The keys I'm talking about aren't any of the input keys for typing or anything, but rather the keys to adjust volume, brightness, screen width, etc. I'm not sure why the keys stopped working, but if someone could help with that would be awesome.I am also having trouble with my fingerprint scanner stopping working. It works when I restart or boot my computer, but after I've logged in a few times it stops working.

(It is) Anyhow, in my scurry to remove the watermark I somehow probably changed a setting that has rendered my Min, max & close buttons useless. I am also not able to drag windows. When I open certain MMC documents, including device manager, I receive a notification stating "Unable to create new document." I have tried restoring my system to no avail. I have done so with my av & firewall down too, as well as from safe mode. I have run multiple virus scans & my system is clean!

I have however managed to do a backup of my system drive but it won't let me do anything there now.
I've tried using system file checker to see if anything is wrong with the system files but it checks out ok.
Just reinstalled windows 7 this weekend together with new hardware. But i have encountered some problems, both with sound and keyboard. On my keyboard which is a Logitech Ultra X (Ultra X) i have some buttons at the top, like Media, play/pause, www, email and mute. These have been working earlier on both windows xp and vista, but now they are not working. Very frustrating as i use them very often.
Do any of you guys in here have any idea about how this may be fixed?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Deltaco USB bluetooth adapter that I want to use to connect a wiimote to my computer to play games with.But when I plug the adapter in, the computer acts as if the up arrow-key is being constantly pressed down, making it scroll upwards or flip through options constantly. Nothing short of unplugging the USB-adapter makes it stop.This is terribly annoying. When I was using a evaluation version of Blue Soleil this problem went away when I fiddled with the wiimote.
Now I'm using Toshibas Bluetooth Stack for Windows though, and it wont go away at all. The wiimote works, but I can't do anything on the computer at all due to this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI work in a school environment and have come across an intermittent, non-user specific and non-machine specific issue. Sometimes when people log on and start typing it will open up a piece of software, and always the same one and the same 'A' key on the keyboard. It is not a huge problem, you can minimise the program and it wont keep opening up, or you can log off and back on again to cure the problem. I am just curious if anyone has seen this before, or maybe has an idea how we can prevent this. I have search many forums for similar problems people have experienced.

I cannot click also on the start icon. I do not have any proof of a virus intrusion. I did a few scans including the full Microsoft security scan but to no avail. It did not pick anything up. I now have a non-working microphone. The schedules were working some time back, I am sure.....however, I have it set to work whether I am logged in or not. History shows repeated successful completions. Taskeng.exe is trusted in my security system (Comodo) and is running as a programme. Task Scheduler is shown as a Service. I tried scheduling the running of a simple drafting programme that I have (deltacad.exe). The time came and went and nothing appeared to happen. I ran it manually using SCHTASKS.EXE /RUN /TN "task name".
A very brief CMD window opened, and again it looked as if nothing had happened. However when I ran Process Explorer, there were 3 issues of the programme running: apparently one from the scheduled run and the others manual. None of them showed a GUI onscreen, and if I asked to bring the window to the front in Procexp, the option was greyed. running the programme itself, by actually activating it in Windows, resulted in a successful load and run.
well i have dell laptop....keyboard i mean the keypad isnt working properly in my laptop.When i type it takes time to type those words or sometimes even when i press really hard it takes time in typing the word.i have updated the driver,checked the keyboard settings as well.

I checked in device manager and both are selected to wake the computer and not allow it to power down the devices. They are both PS/2. The only way to wake the computer is by hitting the power button on the case.

Any letter typed will perform the action it would if the ctrl key is pressed. This can only be remedied by a complete reboot. I do not have sticky keys enabled.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWeirdly my screen won't dim anymore, i set it to dim 1 minute but it doesn't do anything but just stays on. I adjusted it in the Power options and it is on the High Performance plan, i have tried other plan which has different dim time but still no go. How i adjusted the it is by going to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings and then adjusting the "Turn off the display". Basically it will dim if the mouse/touchpad is not touched/move in the time you adjusted it on when it will dim.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have windows 7 laptop that i have had for only a few months for all the time I have used it when I press ALT+Tab keys there came up with a viewer that I could scroll through open windows by selecting a from miniature images of that window... recently this changed to what I understand to the Windows XP viewer that only displays icons to scroll through when ALT+Tab is pressed... I dont think I downloaded anything harmful to do this but I also don't remember changing any setting to have this happen, how do I chage it back?
