Samsung Super Writemaster Won't Work
My original LG DVD optical drive stopped working ( Windows & Pro 64 bit ) after 3 months.
The replacement LG drive I bought wouldn't install, Windows tried but announced that installation had failed. Very helpful.
I contacted LG only to be told it was not compatible with Windows & so I bought a Samsung Super Writemaster SH-S223.
Lo and behold I get the same message and no drive.
Any anyone had similar problems ?

Samsung External DVD Won't Work
I did install win7 from a USB-stick following instructions on a forum, formatting this and making it bootable with all tools from the Win-7 DVD and it worked great. But now I did get me an external DVD burner (Samsung SE S084) and would love to use it. If I plug it into my old XP notebook, it works without installing any drivers. So does it when I boot the Linux partition on my netbook, I can boot from it too, But it just won't show in the explorer when I plug it in the netbook and boot Win7. It is shown in the device manager, it has CD.sys as driver and is reported as working fine (I don't really agree on that;-) Driver update is grayed out. So, what can I do, besides switching to Ubuntu, to start using my DVD?

Netgear Adapter Won't Work
Just installed windows 7 64 bit. I'm using a pci wireless adapter chip, Netgear wg311v3 I installed the netgear driver automatically, and then installed the netger smart wizard. However, the smart wizard will not start up. I've done some research, and apparently netgear doesn't make 64bit drivers. I've also tried using the chipset driver which is a Marvell 88w8335. But I may not have used the right driver. To sum it up: I have a netgear wg311v3 adapter. Running Windows 7 64bit. It won't run the wizard. What should I do? Do I need to go back to 32 bit?

HP Solution Center Won't Work
My Deskjet F4280 prints and scans fine using the Vista drivers that had previously been installed. However, the Printer Settings and Printer Toolbox in the HP Solution Center won't work. When I click, nothing happens. This is causing problems because I can't clean the print heads without getting into the Toolbox. Any suggestions?

HP Laserjet 1100a, Driver Won't Work
I recently switched over to Windows 7 from Vista. My old reliable laserjet 1100a has worked perfectly with all aditions of Windows so far but will not respond to Windows 7. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times and understand from HP that Windows 7 in fact has a compatible driver for the printer, but it still won't work. Even the diagnostic won;t pick up the problem. Anyone installed an 1100a yet?

Netgear WG111 Wireless Adapter Won't Work With W7
I have read a number of other posts (here and elsewhere) about getting a WG111 to work with Windows 7 on my new computer and haven't had any success. Can someone help by providing click-by-click directions? I'm not a complete novice but clearly not clever enough to follow the directions previously posted. My kids are completely frustrated with having a new machine but being able to get online.

Media Player Won't Work After Laptop Wakes Up
when I put my laptop to sleep by closing the lid and later wake it up by opening it, Media Player refuses to work afterwards. And by "refuses to work". And by "refuses to work"Â I mean when I launch the application, it shows me a blank screen and a busy cursor, and stays that way indefinitely. Killing the process via taskkill or task manager doesn't work -- in fact, the only way to stop the process is to restart the computer. Forcing a shutdown eventually kills the WMP process -- usually. The processor usage of WMP seems to hover around 2%. Clicking the taskbar button doesn't raise the window. My laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad T61p. I upgraded to Win 7 from the preinstalled Vista Ultimate. Apart from this, near as I can tell, WMP works fine.

Printer Won't Work And Sleep Mode Absent
any printer connected and installed to my Windows 7 RC run laptop won't print. Well actually it does just that the paper is blank and barely anything is printed on it. On several occasions I have used a Lexmark and an Epson printer, both with full inks, but to no avail. It's really frustrating! It worked fine when I was using Vista thou. Any ideas? And regarding the sleep mode being absent, any clues? It would be handy to save battery.

Generic External USB Sound Card Won't Work
So I installed 7 Pro RTM, and plugged in my external sound card and no dice. I wouldn't normally care as I have a working PCI soundcard, except that its a really really high quality DAC, and it cost me a lot of money, so I'd rather not just forget all about it On XP it uses just generic usbaudio.sys, it works on macs, linux, etc without any issues. What can I try? I attempted to copy across a windows xp version of usbaudio.sys, but that didn't seem to help (I'm not entirely sure I did this correctly).

The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)". I have tried every driver that I could find for both of them. Nothing seems to work. Is there are any known bugs that cause this?

In XP Full screen mode it works fine, but in seamless mode it seams that he cannot establish a connection to the share early enough. First I tried it with the share on the host pc - doesn't work. Second I map the share in XP by hand (changed network adapter to NIC) and tried it - also doesn't work.

All Programs Won't Display And Speech Recognition Won't Start
My speech recogntiion won't start. I don't have a system restore that far back, but it hasn't been working since 3, maybe 4 updates back and I am now just getting around to it, since I have had other concerns lately. The error I get is "Speech recognition could not start because the language configuration is not supported. The recognizer language must match the language of the user interface. Please change the recognizer language in the Speech Recognition control panel under Advanced Options." I go there and press certain buttons and I sometimes get the error message "The requested task can not be carried out because the neccesary engine can not be created. Please select a different engine and/or audio device." I have tried changing the laguage and then restarting and it still won't work. I am using the same mic I was using before when it worked. I have not installed any new sound drivers when it stopped although I have looked for the sound drivers since and there are no new ones. I also had two other problems after the same Windows 7 update with the All Programs not displaying in the Start Menu, but I have dont a temporary fix with that, but it is still not working the way it is supposed to as I had to make a new sub folder in the Programs folder and change the location to that folder every time I start up Windows and so now I go into All Programs and then a second folder, which is ok for now, gonna write a batch file to do it for me anyway. The other problem is that my sidebar wouldn't start, but I think I fixed that last night. As my gadgets are now working.
