I have a very high ping while playing call Of duty I set my priority to low through the task manager and it helped some but still I get this awful skip lag thing. I live in a building where the internet is provided for me and I cant access the router configuration to change the NAT from strict.
I see a lot of complaints about games black screening. This has more than one form and one form of it is due to improper video drivers so we will put that aside.
I always get a black screen after launching COD5 however if you wait a few moments the black screen goes away and the game plays fine from that point forward.
Does anyone know the cause and/or a solution to the black screen issue?
i didnt know where to put this thread. Anyways, when i try to instal Call of Duty 2 on my windows 7 i get an error that says Library not registered, and i have to go to Task manager to close it. CoD2 is original, no cracked **** and i downloaded the evaluation copy of Windows 7 from microsoft.
purchased call of duty 2 and tried to install my laptop. When i click the auto run or install button a box appears saying library not found. Then multiple boxes open up saying acess violation 000000.
All of the Call of Duty games do not workPC multiplayerMW3 computer freezes when I click the desktop iconMW2 modern ware fare, has no games players availableBlack ops the menu is there with an arrow and a blue ring and nothing clicks to start the gameIt also happens when I go into Steam directly I paid for a the new maps with the DLC and can't use that either
I have installed the origonal COD - Game of the Year on a Windows 7 Pro 64bit based PC. The game plays great until I get to the "Soviet Union" missions. Then it exits stating "CODSP.exe has stopped responding". I've searched for answers and tried several suggestions like running as Administrator, Normal, and Safe Mode but no joyIt always stops when loading in the Soviets.....and always works fine up to that point. The CD is in like new condition. When Re-opening the program, the message "COD didn't shut down properly, would you like to run in Safe Mode" comes up.....The PC is Intel D975XBX MB, XFX GT7600 video card, Intel 3 GHz Pentium D. I'm in Single Player mode and have reinstalled COD twice without renaming files.
Bought Call of Duty World at War on steam a few days ago and have been having a lot of trouble trying to play. The game crashes at start up. I have tried a few fixes like starting up in compatability mode and changing the sound to 44100 and 48k but they dont work. Occasionally when I play around enough it will work but next time I try to play it is back to crashing.
I have bought a Dell Inspiron N5110 recently in Feb 2012, with following specifications: i7 processor, 750 GB HDD, 4GB RAM, 1GB NVidia GT525M Graphics Card. It has Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1. I installed Intel Graphics driver and the nvidia graphics driver version given along with the laptop. (Version 268.30)
After installation in my Device manager there are two graphic cards shown: 1) Intel HD Graphics Family 2) NVIDIA GeForce GT 525 M
The NVIDIA GeForce shows as Code 43 error stating "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" in Device status. When I tried opening the NVIDIA control panel it says "You are currently not using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU". Then I installed Call of Duty - MW3 Game and the performance of the game is not so great. I visited nvidia website and searched for graphics driver updates and found the newer version (296.10).
I downloaded and installed it. This time the Code 43 error didn't happen and the control panel also is working. But after installing new driver, I tried playing the game again and this time the system gave the BSOD error. I tried changing the settings so that my game takes only the NVIDIA processor but still it gave BSOD error while modifying the settings in NVIDIA control panel.
Then I tried the following combinations and none worked: 1) Intel Graphics + NVIDIA old version - Code 43 error 2) Intel Graphics + NVIDIA new version - BSOD error 3) Intel Graphics Disabled + NVIDIA any version - Bad graphics with 800 X600 resolution. Game didn't even start. 4) Intel Graphics uninstalled + NVIDIA any version - Bad graphics with 800 X600 resolution. Game didn't even start.
Even my HD movies/half HD movies in my laptop stutter sometimes and I have no clue why it happens. My Laptop is still under warranty and I would like to know what should be the solution for my problem. Please find attached memory dump description folder as mentioned in the rules. I tried generating the performance report but it gave an error stating "error in generating the report".
iv been playin call ov duty 4 4 ages, then all of a sudded i had corrupted file/memory 81355,so i went n bought new ram which fixed that now all i get is constant lag?
i had a big interest on this laptop..but i just want to know whether this laptop is suitable or not to play games such as PES2012 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare?
as of the last month or a little longer, my ping has gone from being perfectly normal, to increasing by x3 or x4. What happens is my ping will be just fine, then it will randomly spike up.To Chicago, I ping around 18-30. To Dallas, 40-60. And now with this problem, my ping will go from one of those, to pinging around 110 to Chicago, and 150-170 to Dallas. I don't know what could have caused this, and I'm looking for help to solve this problem.

I'm having this problem for the last couple of days, and it's unbearable. when i play warcraft III and a map called DotA on it(game from 2003), I get laggs which were unexistent before. my connection speed before was around 4mb/s, but now it shows that it's only 1mb/s. when i use ipconfig /flushdns and then /renew, i get normal connection, but only for a few minutes.
so yesterday at a lan party we decided to upgrade my mates ancient PC to Windows 7 from XP and the computer should have the specs for it and Windows 7 itself was/is running smooth. The first time I put up Windows Home Premium and installed the normal programs. I installed steam and downloaded Counter-Strike, and told my m8 to go play on a local server. And his ping going crazy. My MS is about 10-20 on a local server, but his jumps from 50-200ms, which is unbearable. Well after that we decided to back XP and went off to play, and now it was working perfectly. And the day after we put up a new Windows 7 Ultimate 86x. And again the same problem persists.
Recently i have been having extremely high ping rates to any website i try to ping. Normally i run ping [URL] -t well my results constantly run over 100ms ping times while all of the rest of the computers on my network run around 40ms ping time. I have determined that it must have something to do with my computer. Here is a list of everything i have tried:
-Reinstall network card drivers (had no effect)
-Scan my computer with msert, Security essentials, spybot S&D (no results)
-Plugging a different computer into the same network cable (other computer worked fine)
-Boot in safe mode (had no effect, still getting bad ping times)
I ran Hijackthis and here are the results:

I also noticed my zonealarm z100g router keeps popping up this in its log:

I use High Contrast Black as my theme. In the past, when I would print a document, it would print normally, i.e., black text on a white background. Some time ago, tho, my printer began to print the document as white print on a black background! But here is the strange thing: if I copy and paste my text to Notepad and print, it prints normally as black on white. Both Word 2010, Jarte, and Wordpad will NOT print normall, and I cannot find settings to change this behavior. Please note that to the best of my knowledge, I did NOT change any settings to cause this printing anomaly to begin. HOw can a person using the High Contrast BaBlack teheme arrange it so that documents print out normally, black text on the white sheet of paper?
I just installed windows 7 ultimate sp1 - Like the title says I'm seeing 35% cpu usage with nothing going on. I googled around and ran traces to see which driver it was, turned out the ahci driver was doing it. The USB driver showed similarly high latency but that can be delt with later. Most forums recommend upgrading your drivers but this problem has stayed constant both with microsoft's stock drivers for everything and after running windows built in search for drivers even after I manually grabbed the latest drivers for everything. url...BIOS is up to date4 GB RAM - Corsair something or otherEVGA Geforce 8800 GT450W psu1 DVD burner (sata)5 hard drives (sata) plugged into all but the first sata port because that caused nothing but headaches for me. Update - switching from AHCI to IDE in BIOS fixed the problem.
Since Jan-Feb of this year I have encountered the following issue while trying to play games on my laptop.
Abnormally High CPU Usage Extremely low FPS - After 5-20 Mins of play. Extremely High latency to servers - from 300 - 900 after 5 - 20 mins of play.
The thing is all of these started 1 year after I been using this laptop, after a full year of everything running flawlessly all these issues kicked in after I performed a clean install in Jan., I even performed one in Feb. and one 3 weeks ago
Here are my specs:

I have bee testing performance with/without superfetch - it didnt seem to matter what I change the setting to in registry it still superfetched data i currently have prefetcch on 2 (boot only) and superfetch on 0 (off) and it still fetches into memory, i then realised the service was still started (although I thought changing the registry switched it on or off regardless) so I turned off the superfetch service and rebooted, guess what? its still on and prefetching into memory?im using windows 7 64-bit is this why?

Is is possible to make Windows 7 superber tinier, I know how to make it by "use small icons" from taskbar properties, but it is not what I want,, because in that case I am loosing the date from beneath the clock! I want it make a little bit smiler and still keep the Date>
OK, so my computer had a complete meltdown the other day... right after Windows 7 failed to boot, my Linux started having kernel panics and freezing every 5 minutes... so I backed up the Windows partition's files, and wiped the drive (By wiped I mean I deleted the partition, I didn't use a "disk wiping" tool)
Well Linux reinstalled perfectly fine, so I figured it wasn't a hardware failure like I thought it could be... I even used the memtest feature for several hours and it all came back fine.
Well, I reinstalled Windows 7 not once, not twice, but THREE times. The first time, I put all my Windows files back right away (including the Windows folder), but it still had the brand-new look and not my old settings so I wiped it. The second time, literally 5 minutes after I installed it, Windows Update froze up right after installing my Wi-Fi drivers and locked up the entire computer... and after force-rebooting it it became super-sluggish like it was before I reinstalled it (like when I posted on here last time)
This most recent time it worked correctly, but it still doesn't seem to be as fast as when I first installed it. If I plug in my external hard drive with the Windows files, it seems to lock EVEYRTHING up... almost as if my old Windows partition was cursed or something. I deleted the "Windows" folder from it so there was nothing possibly corrupted there, but it still doesn't seem to be perfect.
Well, even with it unplugged, it's frozen up several times now. I only had maybe 3 programs running at once... it's not like I was overloading the computer. I just tried installing Paint.NET and it completely froze my computer twice and now the installer simply won't run. What's even weirder is I did a "chkdsk" from a command prompt, and while it found nothing wrong with my disc, it stopped around 65% and sat there for several minutes. Same as before I wiped out my drive.
I tried sfc /scannow and it terminated at 14%, saying the service couldn't complete...
I might try that again in safe mode, but still, something is still messed up with Windows. Does anybody have any ideas? I mean, would it be likely there's some bad sectors on my drive that Windows can't find? Would defragmenting help? I guess I just don't understand what's going on... I've wiped the drive a few times now and it's still not working perfectly.
