I have this Samsung Notebook and after using it for certain time, the PC crashed giving DOS sounds. When I started the PC again, I was at the boot screen asking me to choose the OS. Although my keyboard didn't worked. Now my PC is somewhat a brick. How can I solve this issue? What's the best way to restart the keyboard?

The odd thing is that the keyboard does work at startup - I can press F4, arrows, Enter, etc to start up in safe mode, but still the keyboard and touchpad do not work as soon as we get to the login screen. View 1 Replies View Relatedin past I did have this problem with Windows 7, and now that I came back (was on XP Sp3), they annoying me again.I have a DELL Vostro 1510. Sometimes, after I turn on the computer and it loads my desktop, the keyboard doesn't work. The weird thing is that the media keys are working fine all the time, however all the letters, caps lock, num lock, F1-F12... well, every single key simply doesn't respond.So I go and check it on the "device manager", and it shows I have a keyboard installed. I scan for hardware changes... and no changes detected... The driver is there, the hardware is perfect (I never had these issues while on XP, and I was with 7 on past, did have these problems, then did migrate to XP, and now back to 7 and having it again).
I know how to solve it... I simply need to go to the device manager, click on uninstall and then "scan hardware for changes" and it comes back to life. If that doesn't work, just need to reboot and Windows 7 install the driver for me (after uninstalling it, of course).The annoying thing is that I don't want to do those steps... I want it to keep always working... And this is just not normal, so for sure there is some cause.DELL doesn't offer drivers for notebook keyboard on their website, at least not for my model, because it's simply a default one... So the default driver should handle it.
Everytime I boot up the keyboard works for me to go to BIOS or Boot menu but once I get to the login page it stops working. I noticed that people are saying disable device signature enforcement or something but I can't find that in my BIOS. I have an Asus motherboard model - M4A88t -V
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis morning I was using my mum's notebook when several keys stopped working (O, W, R, T, U, ', C, V & BACKSPACE).Although some keys work, they also jam when not being pressed (D & N). I have to hit another key to stop it and when I've not clicked a text box it makes the mouse freeze. I tried restarting and a Windows Diagnostic Memory Test was presented as an option upon start-up which I did, nothing was detected. Device manager shows the driver is working.I am currently using On-Screen Keyboard.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a dv7 notebook with Win 7 Home Premium installed on it. Everything is running fine, except a couple of days ago the notebook began to take too damn long to boot up when restarting or just when powering it on.
I noticed it gets "stuck" on a black screen, just like a blank DOS screen, for about 2 minutes before booting up Windows.
I have tried downloading new BIOS from HP website, resetting the BIOS settings, changing the boot order but nothing really works. It always stays on the black screen for around two minutes and then Windows boots up normally. No text is shown, nothing at all.

Recently my PC is getting stuck for no reason. While browsing, watching a movie, when I leave it idle for a while its getting stuck. Screen is as it was and I cannot move the cursor, keyboard isn't working. Then I restart it manually and go to the option "start windows normally" or something. This happened previously and I thought it has smthin to do with my HDD, but I checked it n re installed win7 64bit. It was working normally for about 3 months and now it started again.
So I've been trying to solve this since it randomly started happening yesterday, but to no avail. I have a Samsung Q430 Intel i5 with Windows 7 x64 Home Premium (SP1), and the computer randomly started to lag, so I restarted it. It logged in successfully the first few times, but became extremely laggy after login, until it froze up completely each time. I then tried the recovery CD, and it worked the first time, but nothing changed, and it was still laggy. However, the computer could not even get past the black loading screen anymore, and began on a continuous reboot cycle, each time ending with a flash of a BSOD that I couldn't catch. It restarts to two options: Launch startup repair or Start windows normally, both of which end up freezing and restarting.I have tried:-Safe Mode (worked first time, but was laggy, and now it just freezes during loading)-Last Known good configuration (nothing happened)-Recovery CD (becomes stuck while trying to find the OS, says "Drive E: 0 bytes, windows 7 and never finishes loading)-Installation CD (stuck at entering setup screen)The only thing that really works is the Ubuntu Live CD.

Although the integrated webcam is connected as the light comes on and there is an image, it is not clearAs soon as I realised the webcam was not working I took it back to the repair shop and they checked the connections and said everything is fine.The tech support of the company that sold me the screen said to reinstall the screen as maybe the wires are not connected properly. However, the repair shop guy said everything is connected and the webcam itself is connected. He said they can reinstall the screen but if there is nothing wrong on their part (i.e. they have connected it properly) I will have to pay.The repair shop guy said he thinks that the webcam captor got damaged when I broke the screen (sorry if captor is the wrong word, I am currently abroad and the repair shop guy speaks French).Do you have any advice? I do not want to get it reinstalled only to find everything is connected and have to pay again

I was jailbreaking my ipod, and something went wrong.While I was doing the whole DFU thing a little pop-up notification showed up about installing new USB device. The Ipod rebooted and the computer froze.After I hit the reset button, everything starts loading and it get to the Win7 log in screen...... but the keyboard and mouse do not work.They work in BIOS. They are getting power, but if i unplug them and plug them back in while at the log in screen they dont get power any more. ( they light up, so when i replug them in... no pretty lights).So I tryed safe mode..... Can use keyboard to select boot options, but once win7 loads.... no go.Win7 CD ..... Keyboard and mouse work!!!! But it tells me that my CD is not compatable with this version.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen Win 7 pro (32 bits) boots up, as we all notice, there is a second or so when there is a black screen, w/ just your mouse cursor, and then you are supposed to see the blue Welcome screen.
In the past 2 months, my computer is stuck at that black screen about 7 times, as recent as tonight. I've done a clean install w/ the latest Nvidia driver 2 weeks ago. No change. It looks like win 7 Pro is stuck there and waiting for something as my hard drive light blink on and off.
So, I would do nothing, or sometimes I would disconnect the HDMI port connects to my 3rd PC Panel (see below), and I would wait for 5 min. or so. Then my login logo shows up, I click it, and I got to windows.
Now, w/ the normal boot up, I don't have that login logo, win 7 pro will simply boot up directly to win 7 main screen after I turn on the computer.
Some1 said this could be IRQ sensing problem of the video card. But so far, I have no proof on that 1 way or the other: All these started about 2 months ago, at or near the same time when the Sharp LED TV technician came to my house and upgraded all the firmware, including the firmware that consumers can't download, to my Sharp LED LCD TV, as the power button wasn't working.
Then in the past 2 mth., every time I turned on my LCD TV, which is connected to my computer as the 3rd screen via a DVI to HDMI cable, Win 7 senses this 3rd panel, and the screen went black and back on again. This isn't the way it used to be: as it WAS NOT SWITCH TO THE HDMI PC PORT.
My Sharp LCD has 4 HDMI output. Tonight for e.g., I was on Input 2, which is satellite, but as soon as I turn on the Sharp LCD, win 7 senses this 3rd screen, and the screen do that black screen then back on again w/ the music charm note.
This was not the way it used to be, in the past yr., w/ this same set up, win 7 only went to the black screen and back on when I switch to Input 1, which is PC at 1920x1080. And I don't know if the above is related to the boot up lock up or not.
I built a new gaming PC about a month and a half ago and its been running fine up until now. I turned it on a couple of days ago and Win 7 was freezing up. The mouse cursor was a blue wheel and I couldn't click or do anything. I couldn't even access the command line and ctrl+alt+del didn't work either. At this point it did boot up in safe mode. I powered it down and now it won't boot past BIOS. I reseated everything and checked all the connections and everything seems good.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy netbook froze on friday night. Try to restart, but was stuck at grey screen. It has asus logo and eee pc written. The options f2 to run setup and tab to display bios post yields nothing. In other words, pressing either button doesn't work. I have removed the battery, pressed the power button without the power cord, put everything back in, tapping f2. So far, no progress. Few times, i try pressing f2 similtaneously as i hit the power button, i got american megatrends screens. Still, none go further. I have this netbook for a little over a year. The warranty just expired a month ago. It is running window 7 starter already installed when i got it at bestbuy. I had contacted asus support, and tried some i mentioned above. I prefer to do this by myself.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've an hp mini 110 with windows seven starter and I want to make a dual boot 7/XP...I downloaded the 32bit version of the sp3 XP and following this guide: Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP I installed on a new partition...(I didn't put the sata drivers cause when I started the usb on the boot xp started to install without problem)..after xp finished I booted but I get this error "windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem.."...when I only can see XP and It can't be opened...I tryed with the 7-system-recovery on the usb to make recovery and put these strings on prompt
