View 1 RepliesI have this Samsung Notebook and after using it for certain time, the PC crashed giving DOS sounds. When I started the PC again, I was at the boot screen asking me to choose the OS. Although my keyboard didn't worked. Now my PC is somewhat a brick. How can I solve this issue? What's the best way to restart the keyboard?

View 5 Replies View RelatedBefore upgrade I had a max screen size of 1280 x 800, and if I set to a smaller size, the image still filled the screen. This size is of course WXGA . Since upgrade I have a max of 1028 x 768 which does not fill the screen, and if I choose a smaller one,e.g. 800 x 600, the image visibly shrinks still further. I am told that I may need a new driver ; now the machine specification, and the label on the machine say the graphics is Nviidia GeForce Go 7400 GPU , but when I look at Device Manager it says that the Display adaptor is " Standard VGA Graphics Adaptor" Have I somehow ( in the upgrade) lost the Nvidia set and gone to something else on the motherboard ? how can I get my full screen back ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought 5 computers with windows7home and am trying to upgrade to pro. the seller sold me 7pro install disks rather than upgrades. When I install them, my screen resolution is stretched and the computer no longer sees any internet connections nor recognizes any communication devices. It loads windows directly without giving me a chance to go into the bios. It did store the home version in a .old format, but I cant find a way to uninstall pro.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy wife's Samsung notepad keyboard and touchpad have stopped working. The odd thing is that the keyboard does work at startup - I can press F4, arrows, Enter, etc to start up in safe mode, but still the keyboard and touchpad do not work as soon as we get to the login screen. I have tried system restore, unplugging the cord and battery. At the moment I can get it to work using a USB mouse and the on-screen keyboard

View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't know whether this is a Windows 7 problem or a Catalyst problem, but here goes...
I have installed Windows 7 (clean) and the latest Catalyst drivers for my ATI HD4850 card. My monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 2243NW, a 22" panel with a native res of 1680 x 1050. I have installed the monitor driver from Samsung's website and the monitor is now showing correctly in device manager.
When I right click on the desktop and choose "screen resolution", the "change the appearance of your display" screen offers only "display device on DVI" ion the drop down menu, not the Samsung monitor, and does not offer me the native resolution. The nearest is 1440 x 900. If I click "advanced" I'm taken to the catalyst driver screen which correctly identifies the monitor, but bizarrely still offers only the same choices of resolution as the Windows 7 screen. 1680 x 1050 just isn't there.
Can anyone help me get my monitor to run at native res in Windows 7?
I am writer and wondering - how do I convert audio/speech to text with my Samsung N102 notebook?
View 2 Replies View Relatedi just purchased this monitor, and to keep this simple, windows 7 doesnt recognise my monitor as a samsung. it just says generic pnp, but wont let me go above a resolution of 1280 x 720. the native resolution on this monitor is 2048 x 1152. i have a BFG GTX 280 video card so thats no issue there. all my drivers are up to date, and i also tried forcing a driver thats pre loaded with windows, but nothing works. anyone have any ideas?
EDIT: also tried forcing a custom rez through NVIDIA CP- no go.
My monitor: Samsung Syncmaster 933SN won't display at it's native resolution which is 1360 x 768. It will only display at 1024 x 768 which only takes up 2/3rd's of the screen real estate!
I have the most updated driver for the monitor, 3.0.0.0 from Samsung, which says it works on XP, and VISTA 32/64, but for some reason Windows 7 isn't recognizing the native resolution. It was recognized easily on Windows Xp when I bought it a few months ago, so what can I do?
I'm using Windows 7 RC Build 7100.
I have a HIS ATI Radeon HD 4770 graphics card and a Samsung SyncMaster 2243NW monitor (native resolution of 1680x1050 @ 60 Hz) and I can't choose resolutions higher than 1600x1200.
I've installed the latest ATI driver but I can't find a Windows 7 driver for my monitor... Any solutions?
I really hope that you can help me. I installed Windows 7 RC and after install my monitor resolution is set to 800x600. If I try to raise it, I get just one more option and when selecting it, I get a black vertical bar on the right of the monitor with still very bad resolution.
My Display Adapter is listed as Intel (R) 82865 G Graphics Controller (Microsoft Corporation XDDM)
and my Monitor is: SyncMaster 943 NW/943 NWX/ NW 1943/NWX 1943.
So, I've had this laptop, a Samsung RV515, for awhile now, and I felt it was time to upgrade it. I would just buy a better computer, but being only 14, I don't have to much money to spend. I was originally planning to upgrade my RAM from 4GB to 8GB, but I'm not sure that is the best route to go. the kind of things I want to know is if I can or can't upgrade or replace my processor, graphics card, etc. I don't know a whole lot about computers, so any input would be great. Also, it may be helpful to note that I haven't done anything to tweak and/or upgrade the laptop yet.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWas running windows vista home premium on my samsung r519, pentium dual core 2ghz, 4gb ram, 500gb HD - Everything was great.
Then Samsung informed me that I could upgrade to windows 7 for 17 as I had recently bought this laptop with Vista.
So I bought it, installed it and now I regret it. Why? Well..
1 - I had to download all software again which took ages and I haven't done it all yet. 7 gave me a summary of what I needed to re-install by telling me what was removed since the upgrade but it had to restart and I can't find the list again, is it available anywhere?
2 - text now looks slightly blurry/not as sharp as before even though I've updated all display drivers (to my knowledge) This is across web browsers, OS windows/menus etc
3 - the caps lock alert no longer pops up so I have no way of knowing when the caps are on until I type (very annoying)
4 - apparently, only 2.93gb of my 4gb of ram is now usable is this due to the fact I have the 32 bit version of 7? Will I notice a huge difference in performance now?
I'm just wondering if any of you good people know how I can fix any of the above? I guess with point 4 I'll just have to look into upgrading to 64 bit but is this easy/cheap?
i'm having some trouble with my screen resolution . i set it at (800x600) cause i'm using a 51 inch big screen hd tv. it go's full screen but then for no reason it puts the bars back on the sides of the screen. i checked and it still reads (800x600) and i can't get it to change back to full screen until i reboot. works fine in vista . i'm not seeing anything about drivers failing so i'm not sure what's happening.
View 5 Replies View Relatedfor the past month i have had an issue where before the log in screen would show, it would be a blank screen with a cursor, that i could move. (It worked normal in safe mode) I normally would just ignore this problem and it seemed to go back to normal after a little while. Well yesterday it didn't go away, so i went online looking for a solution, in safe mode. I've read to disable/enable drivers, re-install drivers, just plenty of things. And the result of all this is that my screen resolution wont go back to normal, and there is a black border around my screen, around a half inch. Also, my computer has been running EXTREME slow lately.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have recently been running my computer for really long periods and have only just turned it off last night. When I turned it on this morning it did a file corrupt scan which sometimes randomly happens. When windows fully loaded the screen resolution had been changed, almost to safe mode resolution.
So iI have tried changing the resolution (Normal is 1920x1080), with no luck. Even though it says it is on 1920x1080 (recommmended), I know for a fact that it's not actually that resolution. You can tell by this photo that the desktop is way to large for 1920x1080. Unfortunetly I do not have a photo of my original desktop resolution .I have installed the latest NVIDIA graphics driver, and it is the right driver for my card. Also checked all windows updates.
Specs:
Graphics Card - GTX 460
Monitor - BenQ G2420HD
I have just purchased a 9600GT which is capable of a resolution of 2560x1600 but my monitor is only stated to be 1680-1050, My question is this, would it do my monitor any damage to force upon it the said 2560-1600?
Edit: It is an acer 22" and not one in specs.
i have used to connect to my pc (vista x64 Radeon 4670) through vnc that is connected to a fullhd tv via hdmi. When i shut down the tv nothing happened to the screen resolution when connected through vnc but now with Windows 7 x64.
when i turn off the tv the resolution changes to some lower and i cant use the whole 1920x1080 and after turning the tv on again it resizes to the full resolution but with icons on desktop without any order! Is there any way to Windows 7 not automatic change resolution when turning off the tv like in vista?
I was wondering if I could enter my own numbers or get a smalller resolution.
The highest as far goes up to 1040 * 743 [NUMBERS MIGHT BE WRONG]
Can i make it go up to like 1240 * 840?
, i am running windows 7 on a flattron lg screen my resolution does not look right. my computer has me at 800x 600 is that the right setting i thought it was1024x600
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have tried everything to keep the screen resolution at it's max but to no avail. When I change pages the screen reduces to a small size. After repeated attempts to keep the screen size to it's fullest the size changes back to small. Yes, I had done everything that the help section said to do and hit the apply button and keep changes. It only stays for a one page then reverts back to the small screen.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a dv7 notebook with Win 7 Home Premium installed on it. Everything is running fine, except a couple of days ago the notebook began to take too damn long to boot up when restarting or just when powering it on.
I noticed it gets "stuck" on a black screen, just like a blank DOS screen, for about 2 minutes before booting up Windows.
I have tried downloading new BIOS from HP website, resetting the BIOS settings, changing the boot order but nothing really works. It always stays on the black screen for around two minutes and then Windows boots up normally. No text is shown, nothing at all.
