SDHC Reader - USB Storage Blank Or Has Unsupported Format
Jan 28, 2012
I'd seen many USB card readers advertised, and I ordered the SanDisk MicroMate (a SDHC device), thinking I could connect this to my android tablet and quickly have additional (using a new 8GB SDHC card) storage for reading and writing. When the connection was made, however, the message was "Blank USB storage; USB storage blank or has unsupported format" I offer this to indicate that the reader does seem operational. The card couldn't be accessed using the tab's file managers. In an attempt to figure out the problem, I tried using it on my two Windows PCs (both Win 7-64b computers, a desktop and a laptop) and found what are to me confusing results:
1. If I insert the new 8 GB SDHC card into the internal card reader of either of my computers, it is immediately accessible. I was able to copy a file to it. Format is FAT32.
2. If I connect the reader to a powered USB port on either computer, the reader device is shown with no errors in Device Manager, but when the card is inserted into the reader, the error "the drive must be formatted" appears.
I have 4 micro SDHC camera cards, a 64 meg, 2 gig, 4 gig and 8 gig. Problem: my computer will only read the 64 meg, via a adapter, and not the 2 gig and above. I can read all directly from the camera connected to the computer via a USB port. Whats up with this?
I've upgraded my Sony Vaio VGN-CCS115J to 64-Bit Windows 7. Would like to upgrade my ricoh sd mmc disk device driver to sdhc, but the only update Sony Vaio gave me was for the SD. I've googled online and found a variety of solutions for VISTA and XP but not for Windows 7.
I'm trying to format the above listed card through my Toshiba Sattilite 660-x running windows 7 w/ an sd adapter card slot from out of my Nokia E-5 cellphone. It keeps telling me in 6 attempts that windows cannot format it. Properties on the card show it as full, but it has never had more than 16gb put on it. As this card is not even 2 months old. Is there a site that can use to format this on freeware...etc?
Just moved to Windows 7 from XP. I have everything working - except my USB Mini SD Card reader.I have a Cyclo DS card and have been accessing the card - no problem through XP. The card is formatted as a FAT32 (as required). When I put it in with Windows 7 - it tells me that I have to format it first. The obvious solution is to copy everything using an XP installation and then format.
i am trying to extract this zip file but i get the following, "Permission denied. The administrator rights are required to run this tool" I can open up grub4dos zip file but not the usb disk storage format program..
When trying to backup to removable media ( CD or DVD ) Windows tries to format blank disks. I believe this will not work, look at the following link. Windows Backup does not back up to CD-R, CD-RW, or DVD-R devices It would appear this type of medium is not supported.
I just bought a new case for my pc (CM Storm Trooper) and in the top front there is 2 USB 2.0 ports and 2 USB 3.0 ports build in (plus some other stuff) so i was wondering if there is a way that i can get the 3.0 ports working on my ASUS M4A77T Motherboard, which i don't think supports USB 3.0? Is there any adapter/PCI Interface that can make these ports useable?

Recently I've installed an incompatible Borland C++ compiler (16 bit application) and due to the incompatibility with 64 bit version of the windows even the uninstaller feature cannot work. Now I'm in a situation of not being able to uninstall the compiler and therefore cannot install the 64 bit application due to corruption.
We just bought an 8GB SDHC Transcend micro SD card from amazon. I did not realize there were probs. I put it directly into my tower in the card slot and nothing pops up. If I put my regular old 2GB micro SD in the slot, it immediately pops up, but not the SDHC card. Is there a fix for this? Something I can download to make it recognized or did I waste my money and get a piece of junk? Please help. This was actually my son's money; he wanted this, and I did not realize there was an issue with these until I googled the prob and had tons of people's complaints pop up.
Recently Ms-word is not supporting old saved documents, I got continiously error of unsupported format, I tried to convert the file format to .docx but it's not working
how to get aero with an unsupported graphics driver? i went through the internet went to reg edit n all and i tried my best to set them right... while switching off the computer the screen fades away... but don't have the blurred task bar and the title bar..
Have a windows 7 desktop pc and all of a sudden my pc wont read sdhc cards. I have read to disable the sdhc host but when my card readers are plugged in i cant see anything that says "sdhc host" but did disable and then reenable the card reader itself. I also read about uninstall of generic sd/mmc usb device but that did not fix the problem also. I have been having an issue where when i reset my pc it sits at "Marvel adaptor init 88se61xx" for a few minutes then loads so not sure if that is effecting the sdhc cards.
I can't read my SDHC card on my pc with windows 7 64-bit ultimate but it is perfectly read on my friend's laptop with Windows 7. The card reader says it supports the SDHC cards.
I have an unsupported graphics card, and would like to force enable the aero theme, so i can se the aeropeek (taskbar preview), animations, and the transparency and blur effects (glass), but have so far been unsuccessful - does anyone know how i can do this?
how to handle USB removable media inside camera. With camera there is no "Safely remove hardware and eject media" option. When Photo camera is connected, a new camera device is installed and GUI window is opened with option to browse or copy photos. But there is no removable storage devise eject button on notification area. The USB removable Storage devise is also present on File Manager Computer left panel but again, there is no mouse right button eject option as normally with removable storage devices. I have checked in on several computers. How to understand. I don't believe that it's camera specific but Camera is Canon S95.
Long story short i have an Aspire One ZG5 with no SSD ribbon. Someone ripped out the ribbon and in the process damaged the connectors on both drive and motherboard. Any attempts to restore them were useless, even with a hot air rework station i could not solder new connectors in properly, they probably used infrared or wave soldering at the factory.
I need the thing to boot from a 16GB SDHC and the BIOS does NOT support such blasphemy. I can solder a small USB drive internally to act as a bootloader, but what do i put on it?
Basically i want to know whether something placed on a small USB drive can boot the thing and then transfer control to the SDHC, or if i'm better off buying a USB SDHC adapter and calling it a day.
I have a problem with my DVD Room, HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H55N ATA Device. It won't read blank CD's/I can't burn on blank CD's nothing, but on DVD i can.
If I use a commercial software like Drive Scrubber to clean my HD, will a Win 7 Upgrade Discboot ? I want to eliminate any possible virus/malware. Is there any advantage to using commercial software to format, or is the reinstall format listed in the tutorials as effective? My concern is that Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 (KIS) had corrupted data bases and after removal and reinstallation did not perform well. I could not download anything, e.g. CCleaner and received Certificate Error questions on certain websites. Also, I would like a fresh registry to insure previous programs like Chrome, Firefox, KIS, remnants are eliminated.
