View 5 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a bunch of game torrents yesterday from The Pirate Bay, ranging from Halo to Angry Birds. Each time I open the installer for any of these games (I've tried Angry Birds:Star Wars, Portal 1, and Halo 1), Windows acts as if it's loading something, and then goes back to normal, whether I run as an administrator or not. I have Win7 64-bit, 6 GB RAM, DirectX 11, an AMD Quad-Core 2.4GHz athlon II x4 610e processor, and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series graphics card. I also used Steam to run Portal:First Slice, a free demo, and it ran fine. The only problem I can think of is that they aren't the Windows 7 versions? I can't imagine that would be a problem, though. Not sure which route would be the best to most effectively optimize my PC for gaming, so any suggestions are welcome. Keep in mind I'm on a Dell All-In-One PC, so components upgrades/additions might be a bit complicated. I plan on taking the games to school on a flash drive so I can try them during my computers class on the systems there.

They are running in the background but can only be seen in task manager and do not appear on the task bar. I have had this problem with multiple different games from different publishers so I'm assuming it is an error on my end. The games I have tried are Starcraft 2, Half-life, and a multitude of Steam games. I have a self-built computer running Windows 7. I'll list specs below

View 5 Replies View RelatedThere are a number of games that MS issued back about 15-20 years ago that I have enjoyed playing even with Vista. However these games are incompatible with Windows 7 64 bit. Does anyone know how I can get these games to run on Win 7 64 bit. Its a shame if I can't since I have enjoyed them all these years. The games initially were issued as WEP 1, 2 and 3 and are as follows:
Blackjet, Winmine (the older minesweeper game), Cruel, Golf (not the golf game), Tetris, Fugigolf, Jezzball, Maxwell, Rodent and Tutstomb.
I would hope Microsoft would reissue these games in their original form but compatible with Windows 7 64 bit. They are not sophisticated, but they are very enjoyable.
i have this older emachines PC i just picked up,, It has windows vista on it (yuk) along with a recovery partition to reset it back to factory specs. I shrank the C: drive and split the drive so i now have:
C: W7U
D: Vista
E: Emachines Recovery
Or well thats how im trying to get it set up BUT everytime i install Windows 7 the machine thinks it needs to be recovered and boots into system recovery options.
My HP computer, which had been originally a Windows XP, has been upgraded with Windows 7 as its new OS. Everything works fine except for one problem: the video card. I believe my card is of the NVIDIA GeForce 7900 series, and it is a couple years old, about 2008. It can't be detected by Windows 7, and I've tried downloading drivers too, to no avail. I'd just get a message saying the system is not compatible. I'm pretty much assuming here that the card is too old to work with Windows 7.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIf I uninstall windows live essentials 2011 and install windows live essentials 2009, will the 2009 windows live mail automatically have all my emails in place without having to import them from my backup? My .eml files are in C:UsersMeAppDataLocalMicrosoftWindows Live Mail, so I assume any version of live mail will associate itself with that automatically and the emails will show up? The only reason I'm doing this is because I hate the new live messenger, (which I uninstalled) and tried to install the 2009 version. But it won't let me install older versions until I uninstall live essentials 2011. And that means all other live apps get uninstalled, including email of course.
