playing an older pc game with my son. "call to power 2" game will work fine for the most part some of the time, then out of no where it will say it has incountered a problem and shut down. Then keeps doing that. Will try again later and work fine. Then another day will have problem again. I don't get it.

When I try to play City of Heroes my computer shuts off. I run on a 550w Power Supply. Windows 7 32bit...for now bout to upgrade. There is not a lot of downloads on the computer maybe 4 items. It might let me on 2 minutes, 5 minutes or up to 40 minutes yesterday ( I was really surprised). It just shuts off. I have to flip the power supply button off for a few seconds before I can turn the computer back on. I can surf the internet all day long with no problem at all, its only when I go to game.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi was shuting down my pc last week after using it all day with no problems when a blue screen appeared and the machine rebooted.I shut it down properly and it was fine the next few days . then i the same thing happened twice in a week.only on shutdown.the most recent program i installed a few weeks ago was Protools8.[code] This indicates that a system thread generated an exception which the error handler did not catch.This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem. The crash took place in the Windows kernel. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver which cannot be identified at this time.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have recently gotten this problem where I cannot connect to any online game, I will get to the login screen and when I input my details it always comes up with an error like "Cannot connect to authentication server or Cannot connect to authorization server".The weird thing is I logged in and played Aion fine earlier today but when I tried to play recently came up with "Cannot connect to authorization server" no maintenance or updates at the moment, havn't changed anything since last time I played, tried with firewall and antivirus off (applies for other games as well).My computer is connected to a router which is connect to a modem (Needs to be like that because other members of the house need to use the internet. I found that when connecting directly to the modem Dragon Nest works but still no other games work which doesn't help me. Is there any option in the router settings that could be messing with the connections.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy HP computer, which had been originally a Windows XP, has been upgraded with Windows 7 as its new OS. Everything works fine except for one problem: the video card. I believe my card is of the NVIDIA GeForce 7900 series, and it is a couple years old, about 2008. It can't be detected by Windows 7, and I've tried downloading drivers too, to no avail. I'd just get a message saying the system is not compatible. I'm pretty much assuming here that the card is too old to work with Windows 7.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSomething really strange happened one day when I ran one of my games. Well, The game crashed several time and when I went to open it in again, my documents wouldn't open! I went to "my computer" clicked it and still nothing happened. Whenever I click "my documents" the document screen just goes off to the side of my screen and nothing happens, same problem when I try to open "my computer". I have run scans with Norton and Malware Bytes but it cannot find any virus, my computer seems clean at the moment.

I bought a cheap Chinese controller but it works on games prior the year 2007. New games like Borderlands, Call of Duty cannot be played with this controller. I saw Logitech F310 controllers which looks good but not sure if it works on these games. which games can be played with controllers.

Just got my upgrade disc Windows 7 pro 64 bit.
I just got new PC with vista 64 bit system. And can not run some old programs I use for FS2004. Gauges and more. They all ran sweet on my laptop vista 32 bit.
Moving over to Windows 7 pro 64 will this solve the problem. Haven't had chance to see if the new Windows 7 pro disc has 32 and 64 bit versions on i9t as I’m in work. If not will Windows 7 64 run my old programs?
MB on my Hp only has PCI slots and I have to upgrade the OB video. The unit has a 2.6 ghz chip and 2 GB of ram and handles Windows 7 quite well, except on the video requirements. Any suggestions other then changing out the MB.
