I am trying to install an older game on Windows XP SP3 (32bit) using Virtual PC. The game has been installed without any error and running its panel. Now whenever I hit the 'start game' button it says" "No 3D hardware installed in your system."I loaded my laptop drivers into virtual environment but they are unable to be installed. Now please tell me what can I do to run it?
Note: I've Windows 7 64bit and the game has compatibility issues with 64bit system.

If I uninstall windows live essentials 2011 and install windows live essentials 2009, will the 2009 windows live mail automatically have all my emails in place without having to import them from my backup? My .eml files are in C:UsersMeAppDataLocalMicrosoftWindows Live Mail, so I assume any version of live mail will associate itself with that automatically and the emails will show up? The only reason I'm doing this is because I hate the new live messenger, (which I uninstalled) and tried to install the 2009 version. But it won't let me install older versions until I uninstall live essentials 2011. And that means all other live apps get uninstalled, including email of course.

I am unable to log into my laptop I am using an older Dell with Vista SP2 now.and evidently having trouble with this keyboard.running windows 7 64bit SP1
I accidently set it up that I would have to log in .I haven't found a solution to remove this until last night through a "tweaker" I found.Unfortunately I can't remember the name. They had an option to remove this password which I clicked on. When I tried to log on tonight the log in was still there and on top of that my old password did not work.

I want to do a fresh install of windows 7 on an SSD for a new pc i'm building. I've been using an asus laptop that came with an OEM windows 7 without any physical disks but with the product key on the bottom of the laptop. Is it possible for me to reuse that key somehow via phone activation or another method for a fresh install on another computer?

I have a computer based training program that is designed to run on older Windows versions. The last version that I had it working on was XP. I am trying to get it to run on my new Windows 7 machine, with no luck. Windows has a patch to run XP programs, but it is not available for my home version of Windows.

There are a number of games that MS issued back about 15-20 years ago that I have enjoyed playing even with Vista. However these games are incompatible with Windows 7 64 bit. Does anyone know how I can get these games to run on Win 7 64 bit. Its a shame if I can't since I have enjoyed them all these years. The games initially were issued as WEP 1, 2 and 3 and are as follows:
Blackjet, Winmine (the older minesweeper game), Cruel, Golf (not the golf game), Tetris, Fugigolf, Jezzball, Maxwell, Rodent and Tutstomb.
I would hope Microsoft would reissue these games in their original form but compatible with Windows 7 64 bit. They are not sophisticated, but they are very enjoyable.

My HP computer, which had been originally a Windows XP, has been upgraded with Windows 7 as its new OS. Everything works fine except for one problem: the video card. I believe my card is of the NVIDIA GeForce 7900 series, and it is a couple years old, about 2008. It can't be detected by Windows 7, and I've tried downloading drivers too, to no avail. I'd just get a message saying the system is not compatible. I'm pretty much assuming here that the card is too old to work with Windows 7.

My original laptop was first fprmatted thus wiping the h/d of all the needless software and then I bought a WIN 7 Installation Disk and installed a new WIN 7 onto it using this Disk.
This laptop has now expired and I have replaced it with another . I would like to treat this one the same way and use this Installation Disk once more .
Will I have any problems with MS doing this with licences ?

there is problem occurring while installing Windows 7 to my laptop. I have formatted the all three drives then delete the two drives and now only one drive is present of 298 GB. But while I try to create the partition by pressing new nothing happens. The format option has gone. And while I try to to install the Windows 7 in the same 298 GB drive - it says -- setup was unable to use the existing partition because it does not contain the required free space.

On my older Gateway pc had Vista 64 installed and purchase the Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade but now I built a new pc and installed the WIN 7 OS on my new system but am getting some hiccups with the software (i.e. access denied when I try to change the parameter of a process>even though I'm login as an admin, or updating drivers>MS states their drivers are better even though they are older and a few critical errors in even viewer>DCOM, NTFS file structure)so spoke to MS and they stated to do a clean install of WIN 7, either I resinstall the earlier OS version (Vista) then upgrade it to Windows 7 but if I just want to install the Windows 7 then I need to purchase the full version of it which if at all possible I would rather not since the upgrade cost me $240 in february. I know there used to be away to retrieve the OS of the OEM CD and install it without the OEM apps/drivers/junk software. On my 2 recovery DVD, there are some WIM files starting with Base.dat thru Base5.wmi files. Can I just copy/burn those files onto a dvd and install it or is it more complex nowadays?

What do I need to do? Do I need to unregister the laptop with Ultimate or can I just install Ultimate in this newer laptop?

I purchased a SSD for my laptop and installed it. Therefore the SSD is blank with no OS on it. So I need to install 7 but it's an upgrade.
1.) Partition my 120GB SSD as partition#1 40GB, partition#2 40GB, leave rest unpartitioned
2.) Install XP on partition #2
3.) Install 7 upgrade on partition#1 which will see XP on partition #2
4.) Once install is over delete partition#2 and recreate partition#2 as 80GB

The drive on my laptop when down so I got a new one and since I have 7 on a disk thought I would put it on the new drive. So I plugged in my drive when to bios set the boot order to go from the CD/DVD rom first and a screen came up that said bootmgr missing hit ctr-alt-del. So I tried using the recovery disks that came with the computer and the same think, it won't boot from the rom drive. So I put the drive in my PC and it showed up fine and worked perfectly. So I was wondering can I plug the laptop drive into my PC and install windows 7 on it while it is plugged into my pc without messing up the windows that is installed on my PC? When I put the 7 disk in my PC it shows up just fine like it should so I was wondering if this is possible or if it would hurt anything on my PC?

I read various posts on different area's regarding chipset installation and drivers. Some info : motherboard is Microstar p45 platinum gamer series.it comes with 2 sets of cd's #1 for win xp intel chipset drivers&utilities disk.#2 chipset disk for vista.question #1 does windows 7 64bit (pro) contain the sata drivers and all the utilities for install ? or do i need to utilize the preinstall of the f6 and make a install floppy? msi has a section for downloads I have searched for the uptodate drivers listed in the arcive section where my board is now listed. am a bit confused as to how i am going to install win 7 on this system .I may go with a xp/7 duel boot .I want to add raid 5 after 7 install and i know xp could not see anything beyond raid 0 or 1.ooking for some advice before i start the process.I hope the thread title is better this time.if the install sequence works the way i want it to go ; perhaps i can create a tuit.

I keep reading about older versions of Windows 7 Ultimate. Meaning the newer ones are different? I am going to purchase Windows 7 Ultimate but is there a difference? I can get a fairly decent price on A site for an older version of Windows 7 Ultimate so is the smarter choice to purchase the newer though more costly versions, or the older versions at the cheaper price. ( at least 75 dollars up to 100 dollars USD difference in prices)?
