Feb 26, 2012I tried to play age of empires on windows 7 and the display is blotched with red dots everywhere in the game. I can play the game but it is really ugly to look at.

Installing Older Games On Windows 7 X64?
Jun 27, 2012I am trying to install an older game on Windows XP SP3 (32bit) using Virtual PC. The game has been installed without any error and running its panel. Now whenever I hit the 'start game' button it says" "No 3D hardware installed in your system."I loaded my laptop drivers into virtual environment but they are unable to be installed.Now please tell me what can I do to run it?
Note: I've Windows 7 64bit and the game has compatibility issues with 64bit system.
Make Older MS Games Windows 7 Compatible
Dec 30, 2009There are a number of games that MS issued back about 15-20 years ago that I have enjoyed playing even with Vista. However these games are incompatible with Windows 7 64 bit. Does anyone know how I can get these games to run on Win 7 64 bit. Its a shame if I can't since I have enjoyed them all these years. The games initially were issued as WEP 1, 2 and 3 and are as follows:
Blackjet, Winmine (the older minesweeper game), Cruel, Golf (not the golf game), Tetris, Fugigolf, Jezzball, Maxwell, Rodent and Tutstomb.
I would hope Microsoft would reissue these games in their original form but compatible with Windows 7 64 bit. They are not sophisticated, but they are very enjoyable.

Now there are just two things left: the "PCI Simple Communications-controller" does not work and the "Intel H5 Express chipset LPC interface controller - 3B06" isn't working either. I found these problems in the Device Manager.

I have four machines all connected to a switch, two wirelessly and two
wired. The router is wired also to the switch.
The two wired machines, one a laptop and one a desktop, both running Windows
XP, one wireless laptop is running Windows 7RC and the other Netbook,
Ubuntu.
Occasionally, like this afternoon, one of the wired machines and BOTH the
wireless machines will suddenly drop internet access, although access to
shared drives on the LAN is still there, yet the one XP wired laptop machine
does NOT drop internet access. The only way of returning access to the three
machines that have dropped it is re-boot the router, causing hassle to the
one machine that is still on the internet.
Can anyone tell me any reasons why this hugely irritating and totally
illogical scenario might come about?

Cross-platform Volume For Libraries And Installed Applications
Mar 8, 2012I am currently studying about file sharing and have recently developed an urge to create two volumes that can be shared across two Windows installations. One volume will be for the contents of the user files (My documents, My Music, Downloads, etc.) and the other would be for installed applications. The main reason I want to do this is because I am currently using a machine with a Windows 8 partition and a Windows 7 partition, and the whole process of having to copy the files and install the same programs to the other partition is really daunting, not to mention a huge increase in wasted space on the hard drive.The main issue I have with the first volume I want to create, is that I really have no idea how to integrate the user files in a way that both Windows installations can find it inside the same default location.All I could think of is maybe some kind of re-direct setting or file, but I still have no clue on how to do that. On the second partition, I have experimented with creating one similar to it for games only, but when I tried to run it on Windows 8, most of the programs needed to either reinstall, or have me manually add some dll files to the Windows 8 partition.

Sep 29, 2011My HP computer, which had been originally a Windows XP, has been upgraded with Windows 7 as its new OS. Everything works fine except for one problem: the video card. I believe my card is of the NVIDIA GeForce 7900 series, and it is a couple years old, about 2008. It can't be detected by Windows 7, and I've tried downloading drivers too, to no avail. I'd just get a message saying the system is not compatible. I'm pretty much assuming here that the card is too old to work with Windows 7.

My .eml files are in C:UsersMeAppDataLocalMicrosoftWindows Live Mail, so I assume any version of live mail will associate itself with that automatically and the emails will show up? The only reason I'm doing this is because I hate the new live messenger, (which I uninstalled) and tried to install the 2009 version. But it won't let me install older versions until I uninstall live essentials 2011. And that means all other live apps get uninstalled, including email of course.

I know there used to be away to retrieve the OS of the OEM CD and install it without the OEM apps/drivers/junk software.On my 2 recovery DVD, there are some WIM files starting with Base.dat thru Base5.wmi files.Can I just copy/burn those files onto a dvd and install it or is it more complex nowadays?
