I've seen this happen for quite a while. For some games, I'll see rundll32.exe take some CPU, and it can take as long as a half minute for the game to finally run. If I kill rundll32.exe then the game .exe gets killed too.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have installed this game, Singularity. The game worked fine for a week then suddenly It would crash as soon as it was opened from the desktop shortcut. The game is patched to it's latest version, I have direct x all other runtimes and PhysX installed from the CD. The shortcut it set to run as Admin in compatibility. No matter if i try with the desktop shortcut or from the exe in the folder or from the shortcut in the start menu the game will crash asap. The only way this game runs is by pulling up task manager and selecting New Task then browsing to the games exe. Malwarebytes reports no viruses or any malware. Tried reinstalling, and it didn't help.

first of all, I have a MSI X320 that I purchased in October and on the second day I registered for the Windows 7 Upgrade Option. The way that MSI's system is set up I have not gotten any indication that ith has been processed, is in processing, or set up and I sent it to processing. I called MSI Canada and they said something about waiting for the vouchers from Microsoft or some other crap and that they do not know when it will ship.
Second, in August my mom bought a HP laptop because she was told that while Window 7 will be avialable in October, computers with 7 pre-installed won't arrive into shelves until November. She was going to wait until october until she heard this because She does not want to use Vista. I registered the HP upgrade program for her and she recieved three emmails, the last one saying that her disk is being built, but last time i checked the online webside says that it was shipped and had a tracking number for THL but THL said that the number was not valid and to wait 24 hours. that was in September. if she had known that it would've taken so long she would've waited until october where there WERE Windows 7 laptops on the shelves.
it is now December and niether one of us has recieved our upgrade disks or any indication as to where they are.
any idea why?

View 1 Replies View RelatedInstalled Windows 7 Professional, Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP Mode so as to use Canon 20D EOS Viewing Utility in seamless mode on Windows 7 professional. (Basically, I need to view pics right as I take them with my camera and that program does it but is not compatible with Windows 7).
Installs seem to have went fine however when I go to Start- All Programs- Windows Virtual Pc- Windows XP Mode Applications- and then click on the application I need which is EOSViewerUtility1.1, a box opens that says "Windows XP Mode - Windows Virtual PC" and then a green bar running that says below it "starting virtual application". Finally a large blue screen box opens and has at the top the words "Windows XP Mode - Windows Virtual PC" and still says it's "starting virtual application." It never does finally open up the program but just has the green bar running at the top like it wants to open up.It seems to me the blue box is really the Windows XP Mode box as it looks like that. So it appears that the program app is not really opening up in Windows 7 but just the XP Mode box.
I recently re-formatted my hard drive, and noticed an icon in the task bar called "windows host process (Rundll32)". I looked it up and it said it could be malicious. I'm not sure if it is or not, but I ran Malwarebytes and nothing came up.

So, every time I boot up and login to my laptop it says that the "Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working."

I am running the 64-bit version of Windows 7 along with IE9. I have found that a problem exists for both the 32-bit as well as the 64-bit version of IE9. I find that for the 32-bit IE9 there are 2 "iexplore.exe *32" files running when the program is started. With the 64-bit version of IE9 there are 2 "iexplore.exe" files running but that's not the problem.
I have found that when I have checked the box "Delete browser history on exit" (Tools - Internet Options - General tab - Browsing History) this sets off the problem on IE9 exit. Both of the iexplore.exe disappear but 2 new files rundll32.exe (*32 for the 32 bit version) appear. These 2 new files run for several minutes at 100% cpu and each will have up to 680Mb of memory. If I go back and uncheck the "Delete browser history on exit" these files, rundll32.exe do not appear and the problem goes away.
It appears the problem is with "Delete browser history on exit" function. I've been using IE9 since it came out and never had my computer, which is now freezing while the rundll32.exe are running, happen before. Ran Malwarerbyts, Super anti-spyware, Spybot, MS Essentials, Advanced system care (Just the Malware finder), Argente utilities (Just the Malware finder), System Mechanic (Just the Malware finder) in safe mode and nothing. I also am not using registry cleaners.

When I install a game in Windows 7 and Windows recognizes it it dumps the game's shortcut in the Game folder of the Start Menu. That wouldn't be a problem except Windows 7 prevents the game from creating the shortcuts it would have created had the operating system not been Windows 7- things like the game's Read Me, Uninstaller & Configuration options.

WIndows installed on Sata HDD 40GB, in system there is more two HDD with 160GB and 250GB
IT runs more slowly than Windows XP before...
I thinks it could be few possibilities:
1. Previous widows xp were installed on drive D (in the same sata hdd) and when installed windows 7 on C (in the same hdd) it shows me (when boots) one more selection to choose one more OS, but when I select it nothing happens just black window and I need to reset pc and choose windows 7 to boot. Maybe this issue can be fault?
2. My Sata HDD is very old. Maybe there is problem?
3. Maybe there is old RAM's and old CPU with MB ?
Windows 7 is officiall beta release from microsoft...
In example on my HP laptop with Centrino and 1GB RAM runs perfectly with pre-beta release installed earlier. Runs default without any modifications like turning effects or smth.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy system is a home built, Core I7, 8GB RAM, Radeon 560 TI with 2GB VRAM. Recently upgraded from 4GB RAM.
I was having this same issue with 4GB of RAM. After the computer has been on a bit (hour or two) the memory usage will approach 90% and upwards and things will start to run slowly. I close all active programs, kill all non-essential background programs (dropbox, steam, printer software etc). I look in my processes and no way does it all add up to nearly 8GB of memory.
So my question is, how do I get my computer to run faster? I know WIN 7 uses memory differently than XP did, and I don't care if it wants to use all the RAM, as long as it will run quickly. The problem is, it runs slowly.
I have WIN 7 x64 ultimate, I have ESET security suite and show no viruses. Problem goes away after I reboot, but returns over time.
