I did some 'searching' and found a few posts about 'magnifier' but most were concerning it's use, how to exit out of it, etc. My question is how to stop it.
I've been to Ease of Access Center, and there is no checkmark in magnifier. A shortcut to it is listed in start menu and I located the app in C: drive. But I can find no way of 'executing the exe'. It is constantly popping up when I'm using anything on the desktop. This is a real nuisance for me though I'm sure many may need it.
I opened and used the Magnifier program on my Windows 7 to see an inverted video, but not quite sure what the default options were (there isn't a restore default settings on it),
- Tell what your is view set on.
- Print screen your Magnifier options and post the image here.
I'm smoke testing Windows 7 for my company and we've had user request to use the magnifier functionality. He is using an HP Elitebook 4880 laptop and leveraging the Architecture Aero theme, however I cannot get the magnifier to allow me use any view option other than "Docked". This system is completely compatible with Windows 7, but nothing I've done to date will allow me to select Full Screen (appears grayed out).
Im not sure what I did but when my laptop boots up, i have the magnifier program and the keyboard on screen, i can just click them off but would like to know where i go to shut them off so they dont load up anymore
I use a screen magnifier/reader,it doesn't allw aero to function because it uses the graphics card,a known mirrored driver issue, not fixable at this time.So I would like to either disable aero altogether so I can use a black theme,or use the built in windows7 basic theme but with black instead of the default colour.
I know I can shut off aero peak and aero shake but how do I shut all of aero off, other than using the Windows 7 basic theme, and that is why I asked about changing the colour in the basic theme.I hope that makes sense.
I just bought a new Dell Studio laptop with Windows 7 installed. At the bottom right of the IE 8 explorer window is a number (change zoom level). I like it set at 125% and to stay at that number. Whenever I am working in my email on IE, the number will change on its own and I have to set back to 125%. Is there a way to set this number ar 125% an have it stay at that number?
Currently Word Pad is set as my default. When items are opened in word pad it is like jibberish. I would like to make microsoft word my default, but word pad is not listed on my programs to uninstall I have Windows 7
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate?I ran ESet security and it found and deleted two infections in Appdata/roaming - (I noted that it was reading trial mode at the bottom of the windows screen which I never noticed before but at least that was when it was still functioning. I restarted the computer, was welcomed by the Asus menu screen first and then when it goes to load windows, it says "loading windows files" and then goes to the automatic repair feature. It says corrupt file in problem details and proceeds to conclude that it can't fix it. In the advanced features, I have tried the startup repair with no luck, the system restore with no luck - tried all restore points listed and after many many 30 min intervals, it comes back that it cannot restore to the previous state. There are no disk images and no memory problems. Command Prompt will run (although one time it did not and simply shut down). I booted from DVD and tried repair from that with no more luck than before, however, did find it strange that when it looked for the windows installation it found one called windows and one called Microsoft Windows - same partition size, all details the same, not sure what's up with that.
I followed the info under Windows cannot start/.exe files cannot run forum up until ubunto is concerned something about the cd and usb running I can get it to make the mbr.bin file but can't get it to recognize the usb to put it on to check it out or the balance of what's next? Also, at the Automatic System repair it reads:
It doesn't identify an actual corrupt file name it says it can't determine the root of the problem.Tried to run Windows 7 upgrade from the disk but because I'm not in windows that won't work and also because I'm running SP1 and I don't have the disk for SP1.I've downloaded Unetbootin and Ubontu but don't know how to work them to get things fixed I've also tried unloading the windows update cache but still nothing because prior to this problem it was failing on all windows updates and have noticed other people comment that that was their problem - still no luck.
I have been fighting printing problems with IE9 for a few days. I cannot print web pages to either my printer or create a PDF using Acrobat Standard or using Cute PDF. Printing works fine with Word, Excel and other programs but the attempts to print web pages results in a blank page except for a header line & footer line.
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate and I'm hoping to get a quick fix on this as I've been trying for two days to fix this computer with no luck yet. The problem arose so far in that, I ran ESet security and it found and deleted two infections in Appdata/roaming - (I noted that it was reading trial mode at the bottom of the windows screen which I never noticed before but at least that was when it was still functioning. I restarted the computer, was welcomed by the Asus menu screen first and then when it goes to load windows, it says "loading windows files" and then goes to the automatic repair feature. I have 2 unusual file folders at the root of my C: drive. The names of both are alphanumeric gibberish,like:af216ca03f1720edf1e7a15b650cbd63One of the items contained therein is identified as a "Windows Installer Patch. There are numerous subfolders labeled "1042" , "1043", et. seq. Both folders are locked and i can't access any of the content even with Administrator's priveleges. These certainly look like leftovers of some kind that should be discarded.
After several days with a very patient and through BleepingComputer Volunteer, I believe my computer is malware-free. However, my computer itself still seems to be having issues. None of these issues occurred prior to the infection. My logs appear clean, but these issues remain:Mouse cursor "stutters" at times.Windows flickerStartup and shutdown take excessively long at times, others it is very fastShortcut icons (but not regular icons) have some sort of "blank" icon in front of them. Here is a link to the malware removal threadMalware Removal ThreadAttached as well is a picture of the icon situation.
Following the removal of some malware [URL], I have not been able to enable my Server Service in Windows 7. I was advised to post this here. This means I cannot share files, use bonjour services, vnc etc. I have encountered Error 1068: The dependency or group failed when I enabled the server service in services.msc.
I have already tried the following (and none worked): - Enabling in safe mode - Enabling all startup services in msconfig - Modifying the registries in folders: Ndisuio, EapHost, and Dhcp (with instructions specified on another site) - Checking the firewall.
I'm sending this from safe mode! I have been getting assisted with this since before the Holidays. I was sent to the Windows 7 forum to get some insight on why my CPU usage was clocking 100% no matter what I did. I ran several scans and combofixes and nothing seemed to work. I ran Malewarebytes and removed the items and explorer.exe will not run.
My firewall, security settings and browsing has been disabled. The various remedies (process explorer, task manager) has been tried in SAFE MODE but they do not work.removal of win7 internet security 2011 virus.
I went to uninstall this toolbar after discovering it in my Add/Remove Programs list, however, Ad-Aware's Ad-Watch prevented me from doing so because of the Trojan it detected. Any advice on making it so I can uninstall it, then clean it out using my Anti-Malware tools?
Sometimes when I move a file to the recycle bin or to another location (drag and drop), the file has moved but the icon remains anchored in the original location and does not appear in the destination location. When I restart the computer, the files and icons appear in the destination location.
Similarly, when I download a file to the desktop, the icon does not appear untill I restart the computer.
In the process, my sound has completely gone. There is no symbol on the taskbar, and the pc doesn't seem to even recognise the speakers to be there, although i think it recognises the sound card. Briefly challenged this before when i had time, and tried to download a driver update/replacement, but this wouldn't work.Any ideas on how to get the sound back? (the same also happened to my webcam over a year ago, but im not so bothered about that, but the lack of sound is frustrating at the best of times)if s the original thread when i lost the sound, and you can see from my posts where i lost it.
I'm going to purchase a new laptop soon and had a general question regarding the legality of Windows 7 upgrade version. Basically, the second I get the new laptop home I will be formatting the HDD with the "clean all" command. Regardless of the OS already installed, can I "legally" install Windows 7 upgrade on this PC using the registry and command line hack? I want a brand new laptop with a clean, fresh start, with 0 crapware. I am willing to purchase the laptop and new OS. Deleting bloatware on an already installed OS is not an option.
I did have the following setup, on a single drive, two partitions:
345GB: Windows XP (installed first) 120GB: Windows 7
I've made a slight mistake – I've deleted the partition which hosted the MBR for my dual boot setup. Basically, I have a single hard drive split into two partitions. I thought that I was thoroughly satisfied with Windows 7, so I decided to delete the partition which XP was sitting on. Little did I realise/remember at the time, but the XP partition held all the boot information, thus rendering my newly formed single partition unbootable. I booted GParted to ensure that my partition was intact, and it showed the following:
/dev/sda1 Extended 465GB LBA /dev/sda5 NTFS 465GB Boot (I manually flagged /dev/sda5 as 'boot')
This all appeared normal to me, so I put my Windows 7 disc in and attempted the various repair options. In my experience (with XP), FIXMBR from the command prompt usually fixes the issue, in this situation it hasn't. I've also tried 'BootRec.exe /fixmbr' & 'BootRec.exe /fixboot'. None of which seem to work.
My last attempt at fixing this was using the 'Startup repair' option on the Windows 7 disc. This hasn't worked either.
Can someone perhaps kindly offer me a solution? I'd rather not reinstall Windows.
I removed a virus from my friends e machine net book a week or so ago it was the system tool 2012 virus.it was removed fully and have checked this via AV and malwarebytes etc.but since then the internet always finds wifif points and connects but always says limited connection.
My Dell tower has Windows 7 Pro with a 64-bit OS. When I opened up the Control Panel, I noticed that there was Adobe Flash 32-Bit there, yet I could not remove it (elusive) nor could I find it in my Revo Uninstaller list or under Remove Programs.or under regedit (Run) under the Software categories. Is there any way for me to track down this 32-bit program .and any other 32-bit programs that SHOULDN'T be in my PC and remove them?
I have win7 ultimate and it will flicker occasionally when removing and inserting USB devices especially flash/thumb drives.I reinstalled latest driver for video card nvidia 260.99.Also i originally used driver from Nvidias site and then reinstalled with international driver from XFX site. Both are WHQL certified. This happens when OCd and stock.
