Full Screen Magnifier For Use
Aug 25, 2010I'm smoke testing Windows 7 for my company and we've had user request to use the magnifier functionality. He is using an HP Elitebook 4880 laptop and leveraging the Architecture Aero theme, however I cannot get the magnifier to allow me use any view option other than "Docked". This system is completely compatible with Windows 7, but nothing I've done to date will allow me to select Full Screen (appears grayed out).

Nov 12, 2009I did some 'searching' and found a few posts about 'magnifier' but most were concerning it's use, how to exit out of it, etc. My question is how to stop it.
I've been to Ease of Access Center, and there is no checkmark in magnifier. A shortcut to it is listed in start menu and I located the app in C: drive. But I can find no way of 'executing the exe'. It is constantly popping up when I'm using anything on the desktop. This is a real nuisance for me though I'm sure many may need it.

Screen Magnifier Disables Aero
Nov 20, 2009I use a screen magnifier/reader,it doesn't allw aero to function because it uses the graphics card,a known mirrored driver issue,not fixable at this time.So I would like to either disable aero altogether so I can use a black theme,or use the built in windows7 basic theme but with black instead of the default colour.
I know I can shut off aero peak and aero shake but how do I shut all of aero off,other than using the Windows 7 basic theme,and that is why I asked about changing the colour in the basic theme.I hope that makes sense.
Setting Magnifier To 125 Percent And Lock It?
Jul 6, 2010I just bought a new Dell Studio laptop with Windows 7 installed. At the bottom right of the IE 8 explorer window is a number (change zoom level). I like it set at 125% and to stay at that number. Whenever I am working in my email on IE, the number will change on its own and I have to set back to 125%. Is there a way to set this number ar 125% an have it stay at that number?

Apr 26, 2011About a month after I started using it, the Say the Time clock program I bought stopped launching the management menu when I right click the date/time field in the task tray (notification area).
Therefore, I can't use or edit the program. Neither the touchpad nor the cordless mouse works.
Other than this problem, my computer works great. Every single item that's meant to be right clicked works for me.
Is there a way I can generate a log to show the software manufacturer (Provenio) that it's their problem and not mine? I am a novice user but I can follow instructions. However, I don't want to put my computer at risk if I make an entry error.
I've been using computers for 18 years and I've never had this problem until I bought this software and used it for about a month.
I just wanted a conclusive way of putting the ball back in the manufacturer's court.
System Time Not Kept Correctly After Having Manually Changed BIOS Time
Apr 23, 2012I spilt some water on my laptop a few days ago but fortunately it's completely dried out and working perfectly.... apart from this minor (but important) issue.
Problem: the system time does not stay correct. Even after manually updating the BIOS time and also even after manually syncing it with the various servers available under the time options.
Fix: set the internet time sync interval to every minute rather than its default setting? How do I do this?
P.S. This couldn't be a CMOS battery issue surely because even when the system is on and plugged in the system time still deviates from correct. (I assume the CMOS battery is only used when the system is powered off.) If I need it replaced, how does that sit with my Dell hardware warranty?
Dell I620 Desktop Freezes (locks) Up From Time To Time?
Jan 14, 2012So I bought a new desktop computer about 2 weeks ago and ever since I got it, it's been freezing (locking) up on me at random times. I currently use Windows 7 64-bit. I put in a new graphics card and new memory sticks just the other day and I got the same freezing problem. It's very random. I can be surfing the web and the next thing you know, the whole thing freezes up. I can't move the mouse. Can't do CTRL ALT DEL. Can't do anything. Seems as if the whole computer locks up. The only way to restart the computer is by manually holding in the power button for a few seconds. So since I replaced graphics card and installed new memory, I was thinking it may be something else causing this.

Mar 1, 2011I have a Windows 7 workstation that people connect to remotely via LogMeIn.I recently decided to move it to my home LAN, because it has faster Internet than work LAN. My home LAN has many personal computers on it, with file and printer sharing enabled. Most of these shares are not password protected for convenience.So the problem is that this workstation is able to see and connect to personal computers. I do not want this. I've temporarily password protected as many shares as I could, but it's not a permanent solution because it's a big family, and there are many computers, and I probably missed some. Unfortunately I can't use that Windows 7 homegroup sharing feature because more than half of the computers are Linux or Macs or Windows XP.I've researched the ports used by Windows File sharing, and made an Access Control policy in my router to block IP and Port ranges specifically for this workstation, to try and prevent it from discovering my other computers, but it did not help. I suspect this network access policy only applies to IPs and Port ranges on the Internet, not on the LAN. (btw router is D-Link DGL-4300)I'm looking for some solution either by tweaking settings in the workstation to make it blind, or making some changes with the networking gear.
