i have windows 7 and a dell 1600n multifunctional printer - i can print just fine but i cant scan things up - the printer is connected etc as i can print so no probs there but when i go to scan and use the dell software/ms paint it doesn't recognise the scanner - the scanner subfolder is in the driver folder on the printer installation?
I have a 64 bit Win7 OS and I need drivers for a Lexmark 3200 printer and a Mag Innovision DTS 3060 scanner.Neither the printer nor scanner are usb. The latest drivers for them seem to be for either XP or Vista, depending on which web site your'e on.
I shall shortly be taking delivery of a new desktop which runs with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.I have a Canon 4400F Scanner and a Canon iP4300 Printer. Will these work OK with Windows 7?
The XP driver for this was pretty good for a typical cumbersome driver from HP. The Vista/Windows 7 driver works minimally and the control panels look great but:
1. Normal vs. Fastdraft print selection results in terrible low density quality.
I have an Epson multi function printer which I am trying to install in XP mode. The reason I am doing this is because the scanner wont work in Windows x64 bit, so I have tried to install it in XP mode. I went to the Epson website and got the x32 bit drivers and downloaded both the printer and scanner driver. The thing is though when I try to install them I get a message saying that I need to install the printer driver manually but I don't know what port it should go in.
I have a HP Laserjet 3050 PCL 5. The scanner software worked great with XP but won't install with Windows 7. Has anyone found an alternate software? The printer is an all in one and it doesn't make sense to have to replace it because of the software. HP has been no help.
I have a canon MP620 printer which works fine. The scanner has just stopped working and I get a message that the scanner driver is not installed even though it is installed.
In the 20 years I have used Backup programs like Acronis True Image which don't give free support. I have never seen a company give free support with their backup programs. Support is worth half of the product. So is there or does anyone know of a backup and restore program that gives free support like a printer, scanner, router, hard drives which gives you years of support and no change?
Well i did a slow format to install windows 7 again in the same Hard Disk, the surprise is when after do a new clean installation, when it finish and let you write your user name and the name of your computer it says: Now write your username (for example: Juan) Juan was the name of my old installation user, and i dont know why it can recognize it if its a clean installation.
the problem is if I create a new task for the task scheduler which is having multiple triggers, only the first entered trigger is recogized and used. E.g., I have two weekly triggers to execute a program. The first selects Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, and Fri to run the program. The second selects the weekend to run the program, i.e. Sat, Sun. --> Now, the program starts only on Mon to Fri. The Sat/Sun trigger is neglected and the program doesn't start on the weekend. If I delete the first Mon-Fri trigger, suddenly the weekend trigger is recognized. If I then add the Mon-Fri trigger again (now as second trigger), it remains unoticed, i.e., only the weekend trigger remains used.In all cases I made sure the triggers were set "active".
The computer I'm using is older (3+ years) and has frustrated me a few times, most notably in the past 2 months.
That said, this is a new problem. My second (DVI) monitor is detected by Windows but doesn't display anything. In both the display settings and the NVIDIA control panel, I can see a second (Impression) monitor, but it's blank and I can't get it to show anything. In fact, the monitor doesn't seem to recognize that it's connected, because the orange "power but no input" light is on rather than the green "power and input" light.
This is a Windows 7 64-bit installation on a Dell Dimension E520.
I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS. The BIOS sees both hard drives and the CD and DVD drive and the Windows Device Manager shows the extra hard drive and both optical drives. When I click the folder in the task bar (Libraries) I can only see "C" drive and no optical drives either. When I click on the CD drive I get the right menues for it, but it does not work at all. If I put a CD in the drive it locks up the system and I have to power off the computer before I can eject it.

I had a bunch of zipped font folders on my computer the other day and was installing them without issue, but I clicked something, and they all instantly turned to PDFs. I deleted them all. But now, when I download fonts, my PC no longer recognizes the folders as zipped files containing fonts for me to extract. It gives me the option of opening it with Acrobat or Irfanview or it tells me to choose a default program. I lost my computer in a tornado storm and got a new one and need to have certain fonts installed for a book I'm working on.
I am running Windows 7 on a system I built myself about 18 months ago. I recently added 4Gigs of RAM to the existing 2Gigs.Occasionally I get an error message about being out of memory. It during one such episode that I discovered that only 4Gigs of RAM is actually being used.I've only know about this site for a week or so or I would have been able to give you more specific information
Ubuntu kills comp, grub reset screen only shows I partitioned my external harddrive via ubuntu to run ubuntu. Back on windows, my harddrive isn't read in my computer but it shows in device manager. How can i access this?
Our Sony Vaio laptop has several user accounts on it. Today I got an older keyboard with a ps/2 connector at a garage sale and connected it to the vaio with a ps/2 to USB adaptor. It worked for a few minutes, then suddenly the (new) keyboard stopped being recognized. I unplugged the keyboard, and now the vaio laptop keyboard no longer works - it's not recognized. I tried the vaio keyboard troubleshooting software without success. The curious thing is that this problem only exists on this one user account. Other accounts on the vaio work fine and recognize the keyboard, so I've messed up only one account's settings somehow. Other than nuking that account (with lots of personal settings and customizing)
BenQ Scanner drivers for Acer 6698 model scanner for Windows 7 or Ubuntu 12.04 (Linux). Works fine in Windows XP Pro, but not in newer versions or past Ubuntu 9.x
.I didn't wait for the computer to tell me it was ok to remove the drive in the usb port. Now my computer no longer recognizes the external drive After removing my external hard drive (without the ok) my computer no longer recognizes the external hard drive. What do I do.
having moved once and having add and removed computers from my home network, along with other changes, I now have a cluttered Printer Selection Window, by which I mean the window that pops up when I want to print a document. I have five versions of a Brother printer and four versions of an HP printer, and only one of each is actually good. How do I clean up that window by getting rid of those obsolete references that no longer work? It's ridiculous that they don't simply disappear when I select one of them as the default.
I bought a new wireless Epson Workforce 545 printer. It has worked without flow for quite some time (nearly a year). Now all the suddenly it wont print.I have it as a shared printer. There are three other family members on the network and all three others print without any problem. Mine worked fine and now wont print. It goes through the motions and then times out. All it says is "printer error".
I use Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. My problem is: Whenever I try to print something (word, pdf, or any other file); printer spooler stops working and when I check the Devices and Printers all the printer drivers seem to be disappeared. I checked the Print Spooler" in the Services tool; and set the "Recovery after subsequent failures" option to Restart the Serviceā. Therefore all the printer drives coma back after 1 minute. However the spooler stops immediately again when the uncompleted printing job starts; hence I can not print anything more than a page. Earlier in this forum, someone posted that Microsoft issued a hotfix for this problem ( hotfix 2388142) which can be downloaded from article: [URL]. I downloaded this hotfix and tried to install, however it gives an error message of: The update is not applicable to your computer¯ and quits installation. I did uninstall and reinstall all the printer drives, but this did not help either.
I have 2 computers on my home network. My desktop is running Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit and I have a kodak 5500 Aio connected to it. I also have a laptop that's running windows 7 home premium 64 bit that connects wireless. I was able to print until today and now I can't print from the laptop. I can see the printer in the add printer window but comes up with cannot connect with error of 0x0000000d
