View 2 RepliesIs there any way I can check what is see what is preventing Service Pack 1 KB 976932 from installing on my laptop? My laptop is running fine, all other updates installed normally. Don't know whether its a related issue or not but when I connect my Samsung Galaxy S to my laptop via USB, I get MTP driver install failure.
View 9 Replies View RelatedTried to install Service Pack 1 on my machine today and I find it gets stuck as it installs once I've shut it down. I did have to hide one of the updates about a month ago which did the same thing, so I'm assuming it's been put in SP1 and is what's causing it to get stuck. Just tried to view the hidden updates to tell you which one it was, and to ask how to stop it from installing in SP1, but it seems to have disappeared from there, which might be because of SP.Can I find this missing hidden update? Is there a way that I can remove this one update from SP1?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI can't install Huawei E173 under Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Service Pack 1. I get the following message:"Upravljački program nije pronađen" in the screenshot means "Driver not found".I have also tried connecting the modem while connected to the Internet, to no avail.I had previously installed and used 3 other USB mobile broadband modems on the same system, 2 of which were Huawei. All software for these modems is supposed to be uninstalled. However, when I install it under a VMware virtual machine with a fresh install of the same operating system, everything works fine.I have also tried copying all relevant drivers successfully installed under the virtual machine to the physical machine, but that doesn't completely work, either.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI installed Service Pack 1 for Windows 7. After it rebooted, on the Windows 7 loading screen it shows "Applying update operation XXXX of XXXX". After a certain number it says "Error applying operation XXXX of XXXX", and then the system proceeds to hang on that screen, meaning that I am unable to access Windows. I try mashing F8 for my life when resetting the computer, but I never get a list of boot options, so I cannot get into Safe Mode or even try the computer's Last Known Good Configuration. The edition of this version of Windows 7 is 64 bit Ultimate. The laptop I am using is also 64 bit Ultimate.
Another thing I want to point out is that both of these computers have been taking an incredibly long time (near 12 hours at this point) trying to download and install Service Pack 1. There is no spyware or anything running in the background. I am fearing that I might get the same error on this machine but I have taken the liberty of creating a System Restore point in the event it happens. I have two other Windows 7 machines in the house (32 bit Professional and 64 bit Home Premium), and both of them installed Service Pack 1 without any kind of problem, and both of those computers installed them rather quickly.
Service pack one refuses to install. My computers specifications are available in my profile. I had service pack one installed fine before but I was forced to do a clean install and now it won't install, I've also tried the standalone installer for the service pack. Auto update just doesn't download and standalone installer stops about halfway, around the area where it should ask to restart. Internet explorer 9 won't install either plus any other update from windows update.I'm using Comodo internet security but before I was using MSE and the problem still occurred then.

This happened to me on my last build and last night I reinstalled my computer and the issue stopped. Now, after installing Service Pack 1 (it seems), it continues to stop at the welcome screen and forces me to click my user to continue logging in (No Password). Is this handled by a setting or is it an actual issue? I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy computer went through some problems and I will be getting a new hard drive. Once I get the new HDD I will have to reinstall Vista, which will only have up to service pack 1 included. Do I need to then upgrade to Vista Service Pack 2 before installing my Windows 7 Professional Upgrade, or will it still work on top of service pack 1?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHDMI Audio won't work on my LG TV 42 120hz variety. The hdmi audio is greyed and cannot be enabled. The monitor is said to be a gneric plug-n-play versus an lg whatever. Latest ATI no change. Where can I get the correct 'monitor' driver - as the ATI catalyst control panel says no audio due to an unsupported monitor. Other systems I have the hdmi cables work perfectly so i have narrowed it to the display driver ( not the graphics card drivers.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a 128gb Crucial M4 SSD. The other day my father and I sat down together to work on setting up the SSD as my OS drive. We installed Windows 7 64bit Home Premium successfully on the drive. There were no issues until I started to install drivers liberally rather then conservatively. While installing ~101 Window's Updates, I impatiently started installing my XFX Radeon 6870 drivers. This caused a crash and a blue screen to appear. After rebooting the system in Safe Mode, everything appeared fine. However, my video card drivers were in a weird funk. After some research, I resolved the issue and my video card drivers were all working and installed successfully. The big problem now is that when trying to Install Service Pack 1, I get an error code upon reboot that says "D_S_S_SUCCESS(0x0)". During the installation of Service Pack 1, the install stops about half-way and wants me to reboot the system, so I do. Rebooting the system is when I get the error code. The screen that pops up says that the install was unsuccessful. I've looked around on Microsoft's website to find some help. So far I've performed the following tasks:
Downloaded a tool by Microsoft called Mrfixit. I've ran troubleshooting that attempts to fix windows update. I've ran disk cleanup to delete temporary files, which won't even delete everything... I've uninstalled any virus software System Update Readiness Tool I've tried renaming the systems distribution folder..(Was this bad?) When I renamed my systems distribution folder to SDold... it created another one... Should I delete my systems distribution folder? Is there anyway to revert this? I hope I didn't ruin anything by doing this. I have no clue what to do next to fix this issue. I'm really concerned I'm damaging my Solid State Drive by all this constant rebooting and installing/uninstalling.
While using Windows 7, my screen just turns opaque, and i have to reset my pc.
This happened :
1. Twice in Fifa 10 (exactly at kickoff, green screen)
2. Using uTorrent (White Screen)
3. As soon as i move mouse after boot up ( White)
The main problem is that my monitor goes into power-saving mode upon reset after this screen, and it does not get out of it. I have to wait a few hours everytime this happens to use my pc again. Its not my monitor, cause Ubuntu and Hackintosh work just fine. Today i got a similar black screen with XP. I have also restore factory settings in BIOS. Pls Help.
EDIT : Happened in Hackintosh as well, maybe ill restore BIOS to version that came with my PC.
EDIT : Found out a possible solution thanks to google (Damn! Why does BING even try?), Some RAM settings set to AUTO in BIOS. Will just have to give it the original frequency!
Need some help determining the cause of frequent crashes while playing either game, a variety of error numbers. Tried updating graphic drivers, no change.

My HDD is faulty. It's awfully slow and its making all sorts of unsettling noises. I have ordered a Western Digital 500GB blue, and an OCZ Agility 60GB SSD. Im going to be reinstalling windows, but what is the best way to do so? I don't care about the data I have on my PC already, as it's only been built. Can I just remove the Simmtronic 500GB, and put in the new HDD and SSD along with my Windows disc and install as if it's all new? Or do I absolutely HAVE to reinstall windows from the recovery menu?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a PC running windows 7 64-bit and I am finding it impossible to get windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) to install. I start the installation and it seems to run for more than an hour and appears to be installing OK; but when I restart the PC I get an error saying that the installation was not successful and it the rolls back to where it was before I started the installation. I have tried to install a numbr of times, but without success.I have also tried:
* Stopping all non-essential start-up items by disabling them booting on startup using msconfig.
* Stopped all firewall and anti-virus from running during installation
* Run the Windows Update System Readiness Tool (kb947821) before the installation
* Run the Windows Update troubleshooter
* Running the installer from within Windows Update, as a standalone x-64 bit installed downloaded from Microsoft, and as an iso file burned to a DVD
* Run sfc.exe /scannow which reported no errors.
Other Windows Updates seem to install OK - it is just the SP1 update that refuses.[For info: I have another PC that I recently updated (clean install) from XP to Windows 7. I had a similar problem on this PC after I had performed all the other Windows Updates and instaleld my normal suite of programs. SP1 also refused to install. In the end, I reistaleld Win 7 from disc and then immediately installed SP1 before installing any other updates or programs. SP1 installed OK. However I do not want to follow this route on my main PC as it has a load of programs installed which will take a few days to reinstall if I have to start from scratch].
