I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium x64, trying to install service pack 1 thru windows update. First time I tried to install along with some other updates and it failed to download. Second time I downloaded on its own and it installed fine. Computer then restarted and displayed 'Failure configuring service pack. Reverting Changes'. Now it keeps restarting and doing the same thing over. I can't access my computer while this is happening.

I have upgraded my laptop from Vista to Windows 7 and since installed 91 updates. Service Pack 1 installs but then fails to configure. I have tried so many different ways to sort this, all without success. I even tried to install and configure in 'Safe Mode' but it made no difference. I cannot install my printer drivers and I am hoping it is merely because of the lack of SP1 being installed.

I installed Service Pack 1 for Windows 7. After it rebooted, on the Windows 7 loading screen it shows "Applying update operation XXXX of XXXX". After a certain number it says "Error applying operation XXXX of XXXX", and then the system proceeds to hang on that screen, meaning that I am unable to access Windows. I try mashing F8 for my life when resetting the computer, but I never get a list of boot options, so I cannot get into Safe Mode or even try the computer's Last Known Good Configuration. The edition of this version of Windows 7 is 64 bit Ultimate. The laptop I am using is also 64 bit Ultimate.
Another thing I want to point out is that both of these computers have been taking an incredibly long time (near 12 hours at this point) trying to download and install Service Pack 1. There is no spyware or anything running in the background. I am fearing that I might get the same error on this machine but I have taken the liberty of creating a System Restore point in the event it happens. I have two other Windows 7 machines in the house (32 bit Professional and 64 bit Home Premium), and both of them installed Service Pack 1 without any kind of problem, and both of those computers installed them rather quickly.

I went to Microsoft Update. I was installing SP1. On shutdown (and now on boot) I just get the "Configuring Service Pack, 8% Complete, Do not turn off your computer." When I went to bed it was at 8%, when I woke up it was at 8%.Luckily I have an Ubuntu dual boot. That allows me to post this message. Is it even possible to do a system restore (restore to a past restore point) now?

I recently purchased a 128gb Crucial M4 SSD. The other day my father and I sat down together to work on setting up the SSD as my OS drive. We installed Windows 7 64bit Home Premium successfully on the drive. There were no issues until I started to install drivers liberally rather then conservatively. While installing ~101 Window's Updates, I impatiently started installing my XFX Radeon 6870 drivers. This caused a crash and a blue screen to appear. After rebooting the system in Safe Mode, everything appeared fine. However, my video card drivers were in a weird funk. After some research, I resolved the issue and my video card drivers were all working and installed successfully. The big problem now is that when trying to Install Service Pack 1, I get an error code upon reboot that says "D_S_S_SUCCESS(0x0)". During the installation of Service Pack 1, the install stops about half-way and wants me to reboot the system, so I do. Rebooting the system is when I get the error code. The screen that pops up says that the install was unsuccessful. I've looked around on Microsoft's website to find some help. So far I've performed the following tasks:
Downloaded a tool by Microsoft called Mrfixit. I've ran troubleshooting that attempts to fix windows update. I've ran disk cleanup to delete temporary files, which won't even delete everything... I've uninstalled any virus software System Update Readiness Tool I've tried renaming the systems distribution folder..(Was this bad?) When I renamed my systems distribution folder to SDold... it created another one... Should I delete my systems distribution folder? Is there anyway to revert this? I hope I didn't ruin anything by doing this. I have no clue what to do next to fix this issue. I'm really concerned I'm damaging my Solid State Drive by all this constant rebooting and installing/uninstalling.

Service pack one refuses to install. My computers specifications are available in my profile. I had service pack one installed fine before but I was forced to do a clean install and now it won't install, I've also tried the standalone installer for the service pack. Auto update just doesn't download and standalone installer stops about halfway, around the area where it should ask to restart. Internet explorer 9 won't install either plus any other update from windows update.I'm using Comodo internet security but before I was using MSE and the problem still occurred then.

This happened to me on my last build and last night I reinstalled my computer and the issue stopped. Now, after installing Service Pack 1 (it seems), it continues to stop at the welcome screen and forces me to click my user to continue logging in (No Password). Is this handled by a setting or is it an actual issue? I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit.

My computer went through some problems and I will be getting a new hard drive. Once I get the new HDD I will have to reinstall Vista, which will only have up to service pack 1 included. Do I need to then upgrade to Vista Service Pack 2 before installing my Windows 7 Professional Upgrade, or will it still work on top of service pack 1?

Tried to install Service Pack 1 on my machine today and I find it gets stuck as it installs once I've shut it down. I did have to hide one of the updates about a month ago which did the same thing, so I'm assuming it's been put in SP1 and is what's causing it to get stuck. Just tried to view the hidden updates to tell you which one it was, and to ask how to stop it from installing in SP1, but it seems to have disappeared from there, which might be because of SP.Can I find this missing hidden update? Is there a way that I can remove this one update from SP1?

I can't install Huawei E173 under Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Service Pack 1. I get the following message:"Upravljački program nije pronađen" in the screenshot means "Driver not found".I have also tried connecting the modem while connected to the Internet, to no avail.I had previously installed and used 3 other USB mobile broadband modems on the same system, 2 of which were Huawei. All software for these modems is supposed to be uninstalled. However, when I install it under a VMware virtual machine with a fresh install of the same operating system, everything works fine.I have also tried copying all relevant drivers successfully installed under the virtual machine to the physical machine, but that doesn't completely work, either.

I am having trouble installing sp1 despite other windows updates having been flawless so far. I tried following instructions found at the Windows site but the System Update Readiness Tool didn't find any errors and repair installation aborts. Sorry to bother you with another "sp1 fail" thread but I have exhausted my search options for solution here and in other sites, which makes this request for help my last resort.

I have Win 7 Ultimate 32-bit. I have never had SP1 before. I recently used system restore to roll back a few days and now when I try to install have Win 7 Ultimate 32-bit. I have never had SP1 before. I recently rolled back my PC a few day with system restore, then updated Windows to the newest updates. I downloaded SP1 32-bit and when I try to install it, it installs right to almost the end and gives me: Error 0x80070002.

When I try to install W7SP1, I get an error message after it tries to install after restarting after having downloaded it in Windows Update. It's error code 0x800f0826. IT used to be 0x80071a9, but I fixed that I think.
Note: My laptop does not have a built in disc reader, because of its design, nor did it come with any W7 CD's.

I have tried to install this update six times today (07/05/12) after it was flagged as an important update this morning. Looking at my update history it also failed to instal on the 18th October last year but it has not bothered me since and i have not noticed it until now. Of the seven attempts I had the following error codes from earliest to latest : 800B0100, 80246007, 80010108, 8024200D, 8024200D, 8024200D, 8024200D. I have followed advice from MS running KB947821 and FIX IT also disabled my Norton 360 firewalls and auto protect but to no avail. Also I do not have a DVD with Windows 7 as it was not supplied with my PC and I don't want to restore my computer and lose all my installed software.

I accidently dropped my laptop on to its side. I turned it on and i was on skype and google for a while until i tried to search for a file and it froze and the a window came up saying somthing about Windows crashing. I did the little error test thing and it told me that the file was un-fixable.I don't think getting the disc to make it return to the factory setting would do anything because its corrupted i think.

I downloaded the service pack last night. It installed with no problem. Sort of embarrased to say this, but I have been unable to get into Farm Town on Face Book today. It's the first time I tried since installing the service pack. This has happened on both the desktop and laptop. Both are Windows 7 64 bit.

I've been getting notifications for Service pack 1 for the last 2 months, so about 2 weeks ago I decided to install the update. The first time of trying it didn't install and after 3 other attempt it still hasn't worked. The update runs and downloads all the components then restarts. As soon as the Laptop goes to boot up it says configuring. It then goes to 10% and stops and aborts. The Laptop restarts again and configures back to default setting and starts normally again with a box saying Service pack installation was unsuccessfully. After a bit of research I found out that I may need to install System Update Readiness Tool. This programme will not install on my pc either for some reason?.

Even though 130 updates were done on my reformatted laptop, Windows Service Pack 1 was not one of them and it's still not showing up as an available update. When I go to Microsoft to download it, there are multiple (pretty large) files to download. The largest and first file is 1.9 GB, and I'm wondering if that contains all of the other single files? Can someone tell me if that is the one I need to download?
