View 1 Repliesanyone recommend a good Windows 7 codec pack for build #7264?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the service pack last night. It installed with no problem. Sort of embarrased to say this, but I have been unable to get into Farm Town on Face Book today. It's the first time I tried since installing the service pack. This has happened on both the desktop and laptop. Both are Windows 7 64 bit.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI run Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Are there any incompatibilities that could cause problems if I install the service pack? I figured I'd wait until now to install it to ensure that most bugs would be fixed, but are there any major lingering ones?
View 4 Replies View RelatedService pack one refuses to install. My computers specifications are available in my profile. I had service pack one installed fine before but I was forced to do a clean install and now it won't install, I've also tried the standalone installer for the service pack. Auto update just doesn't download and standalone installer stops about halfway, around the area where it should ask to restart. Internet explorer 9 won't install either plus any other update from windows update.I'm using Comodo internet security but before I was using MSE and the problem still occurred then.

I've been getting notifications for Service pack 1 for the last 2 months, so about 2 weeks ago I decided to install the update. The first time of trying it didn't install and after 3 other attempt it still hasn't worked. The update runs and downloads all the components then restarts. As soon as the Laptop goes to boot up it says configuring. It then goes to 10% and stops and aborts. The Laptop restarts again and configures back to default setting and starts normally again with a box saying Service pack installation was unsuccessfully. After a bit of research I found out that I may need to install System Update Readiness Tool. This programme will not install on my pc either for some reason?.
View 12 Replies View RelatedEven though 130 updates were done on my reformatted laptop, Windows Service Pack 1 was not one of them and it's still not showing up as an available update. When I go to Microsoft to download it, there are multiple (pretty large) files to download. The largest and first file is 1.9 GB, and I'm wondering if that contains all of the other single files? Can someone tell me if that is the one I need to download?
View 3 Replies View RelatedRemoved adobe virus through the virus forum. things operate now but can't install windows update. Other odd things happening; iTunes plays all my songs but when I go to the folder where they are stored, nothing shows up (same for pictures), get signs saying Dell support center has stopped working (same with ATI Graphics center) when I load up computer.

Intel i5 3570k
Antec 300
Corsair GS800 PSU
8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM
MSI GTX 660 TF OC 2GB SLI
Zalmann CPU cooler
Asrock Extreme IV Z77
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Simmtronics 500GB HDD.
My HDD is faulty. It's awfully slow and its making all sorts of unsettling noises. I have ordered a Western Digital 500GB blue, and an OCZ Agility 60GB SSD. Im going to be reinstalling windows, but what is the best way to do so? I don't care about the data I have on my PC already, as it's only been built. Can I just remove the Simmtronic 500GB, and put in the new HDD and SSD along with my Windows disc and install as if it's all new? Or do I absolutely HAVE to reinstall windows from the recovery menu?
i downloaded a few themes from microsoft website, but when i try to install them by double clicking them,,it simly doesnt respond

in my list of updates since it was released. However I have put off installing it until the reviews were in.Last nite I decided to bite the bullet and do the install, and lo and behold SP1 is nowhere to be found in the list of available updates? Also checked update history to be sure it didn't get installed sneakily nowhere to be found?Spent sometime on the internet looking, but could find nothing addressing this.Where do I get SP1 now? Microsoft website? Why is it gone from the update list?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI never realized it until just now, when I looked through Windows Update. It's been trying to install the service pack update about a hundred times behind my back since LAST JULY. and every time the status is "Failed."
I had checked because I just installed it last night again and shut down my computerr and everything seemed fine. Then this morning I noticed the windows update icon in the taskbar and saw it again even though I just installed it last night and noticed all the failed installations
I get Error Code: 0x800f0826.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a PC running windows 7 64-bit and I am finding it impossible to get windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) to install. I start the installation and it seems to run for more than an hour and appears to be installing OK; but when I restart the PC I get an error saying that the installation was not successful and it the rolls back to where it was before I started the installation. I have tried to install a numbr of times, but without success.I have also tried:
* Stopping all non-essential start-up items by disabling them booting on startup using msconfig.
* Stopped all firewall and anti-virus from running during installation
* Run the Windows Update System Readiness Tool (kb947821) before the installation
* Run the Windows Update troubleshooter
* Running the installer from within Windows Update, as a standalone x-64 bit installed downloaded from Microsoft, and as an iso file burned to a DVD
* Run sfc.exe /scannow which reported no errors.
Other Windows Updates seem to install OK - it is just the SP1 update that refuses.[For info: I have another PC that I recently updated (clean install) from XP to Windows 7. I had a similar problem on this PC after I had performed all the other Windows Updates and instaleld my normal suite of programs. SP1 also refused to install. In the end, I reistaleld Win 7 from disc and then immediately installed SP1 before installing any other updates or programs. SP1 installed OK. However I do not want to follow this route on my main PC as it has a load of programs installed which will take a few days to reinstall if I have to start from scratch].
i see a lot of drivers pack for win 7, is it neccessery to have a driver cd installed with win 7, or it's enough if i have the drivers for my hardware as win 7 compatible, so is there any need for that extra drivers package cds if i have the right installer drivers?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have installed the Windows 7 OEM version on one of my other computers so I have access to the OEM software, even if I do not have an available license. That said, my father has a spare CD-Key from his x64 Family Pack (3 Keys for simultaneous operation). I am wondering if I can install Windows with the OEM software and then activate it with the Family Pack CD key or will I have to wait a week for it [Family Pack disk] to arrive in the post?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got Windows 7 Enterprise N about a week ago. It is for my computer networking class, our teacher also gave us a bit more other software and I am trying to find out what I am doing wrong. I have installed and ran the precursor software from microsoft.com to make sure that my computer is able to use SP1 and I don't have any problems in my registry. It is an official, licensed version and registered, and all the other updates work. I have manually downloaded and tried to install it and still nothing. Where do I start on troubleshooting this?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI was updating neighbors PC last night and when I tried to install the windows 7 service pack from windows update at the end of the install it would say it failed then when I rebooted the pc it would say configuring windows and when it reached 32% it would stall and then say it was removing updates and reverting, then it would reboot, do the same thing, reboot and do that cycle like 6 times before windows would actually load up like normal. It happens if I download the .exe version or I try to get it from windows update.
Its a dell pc (forgot the model but its newer has a core i7 860 in it). Has windows 7 ultimate 32bit on it.
Is it possible to install the service pack on a laptop without having it plugged in?I have tried the stand alone update and thru windows update. Keeps saying to plug in my power cord.
