Here is a video of what happens: [URL]. Whenever I try to game longer than 10 minutes on this rig I just built, my PSU starts flickering like a strobe light and then my computer freezes. Sometimes it will display a random color though out the whole screen, or just go black. I have checked all my temperatures when this occurs and they are all well below average. I have ALL the latest drivers/windows updates. In this case like many others, my screen goes black for a few seconds but then recovers, only to have terrible FPS (I usually get 80+).

my problem is without using this tutorial when i add the dvi leads to the monitor and connect on back of pc it loads up but when playing music videos it tends to refresh continously and can never watch a video clip properly. the correct drivers are in there as well..
So now i have a 22inch lcd monitor screen that wont display properly when using the dvi leads..
I'm having a problem when my computer shuts down. It seems to just freeze on the "Shutting Down..." screen. After manually shutting down I get this as a popup when I log in again:
Code: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48
my laptop looks like it has a massive problem. i have been on various forums for advice but unable to solve - this is the problem
* it turns on & I CAN get into advanced menus
* it will not repair itself no matter what
* it will not go into any other modes , safe Etc....therefore I cannot restore to factory settings etc....
* ive Tried all tricks such as F8, Alt & F11 etc..... to get into advanced menu settings - all lead to the black screen
* everything i click on enter leads to a black screen - only a white curser appears.
its as if there is no way of accessing the computer disc/ hard drive in anyway from boot up. there is clearly a hardware problem but i cannot access anything internal beyond ordinary & advanced menus i just keep being led to the black screen & no activity. the menus work & that is all.
I recently installed Windows 7 on my laptop (far beyond the requirements). Before the installation, I was running Windows XP. I am currently attempting to play Warcraft III but the screen flickers every 15 seconds. The game has been reinstalled successfully, including appropriate updates, screen resolution, and refresh rate.
Nothing fixes the flickering and it is a little annoying. Can anyone help me out or suggest some possible solutions?
My system: HP G62-144DX Notebook Microsoft WIN 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 64 Bit Intel(R) Processor McAfee Virus Protector (running)...
3 days ago, I started getting these 'flickering' pop ups at the top left hand corner of my screen. Some are whole ads and others are just bits and pieces like a 'puzzle'. They are non-stop and especially when I am on my AOL 'Welcome/home page'. I can hardly read what is displayed on my left screen.
i am using nvidia geforce 520mx on my samsung laptop.the screen is flickering so much while playing medal of honor.i am on latest drivers directly from nvidia(issue is there even before the update). bug in game:no,the game dosent flickers when played on discrete graphics.
Before the problem, here are the specs: I have 6870 CFX6GB 1666 MHZand I7 965 ExtremeI have Crysis 2 (original, not skidrow not reloaded and etc) and it worked great 2 months ago. Now I want to play it again and this is what I get, but 25 times worse:[URL]
I have always used an external monitor when using windows vista and now that i have upgraded to windows 7 when i plug in my external monitor it flashes on and off. I have changed the refresh rate on the monitor and all it does is change how fast the external monitor flashes. Also, I had this problem when using windows vista and I changed a setting in windows task scheduler and it fixed it. Tried doing the same thing in 7 and the problem is still there. In addition, I tried using a different monitor cable and the problem is still there.
I experienced some flashing/flickering/blinking of the screen while I was playing The Sims 3.I know the game has overheated graphics cards in the past, so I'm concerned; thankfully, Christmas is coming up if I need a new card.
I have win7 ultimate and it will flicker occasionally when removing and inserting USB devices especially flash/thumb drives.I reinstalled latest driver for video card nvidia 260.99.Also i originally used driver from Nvidias site and then reinstalled with international driver from XFX site. Both are WHQL certified. This happens when OCd and stock.
I have just updated Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate to SP1, and my HDD light is constantly flickering? There is no discernable differnce in the performance of windows and it boots and runs fine, it's just that the light is a bright neon blue colour and is very distracting! It happens from the moment my desktop appears or when being online like I am now typing this. Can ANYONE please shed some light on this matter? I am at my wits end LOL!!!A friend did tell me that turning off SUPERFETCH in the list of running services might work. I did this when I originally bought and installed 7 as I was having the same problem then, this time however, it's not had ANY difference, I still get a BRIGHT blue light constantly dancing beneath my eyes.
when I open, it's seemingly random, programs sometimes the usb flicker on and off. For example, the mouse works 1-2 seconds then stops 1-2 seconds and continues like that. Same with the keyboard, it works a few seconds, stops and repeats. When I shut down the program it works again, 'the program' because it's been abit of everything. Sometimes it happens again, so I have to restart again etc. With the new keyboard with back lighting and mouse with dpi indicator I see that the keyboard and mouse flicker with its light on and off, one after another. The usb unplugged sound or whatever it is has also occured with these new peripherals aswell.I've tried disabling power saving option in the Root Hubs in device management, but it doesn't help.
I built a new PC about a month ago. BioStar A880GU3 and an AMD Athlon II X3 455 CPU. Also running Windows 7.
I set up two monitors and have them set to extend. Everything has been great up until about a few days ago. One morning I turned the PC on and my 2nd display was totally black. It was turned on and Windows was detecting it but I couldn't see anything. I drug a tab from Firefox over to the monitor and dropped it and the screen started flickering and eventually came on. Everything was cool for the next two days.
A few days later, it happened again. This time, I could faintly see that the screen was on just very dark because I could see the outlines of the Firefox window I drug over there. Now it happens every time I turn the PC on. It eventually stats flickering and comes on on it's own and stays on until I shut the PC off again.
I also can't even see the monitor's menu when I press the menu button on it. Does this sound like an issue somewhere in Windows, or just a failing monitor? It's a bunch of years old and was sitting in my basement for over a year until I built this new PC. I'm just curious because it worked fine for weeks after I started using it again.
i have got windows 7 ultimate 32bt 6.1 build 7600 and i have got a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile V5355.
I have just installed Civilization 4 and when it loads the screen flickers blue while the movies are playing and then when its on the main menu it flickers but not a blue screen just its all weird.
I can remember last week Windows Update updated my SIS mirage 3 graphics driver and i have had windows 7 installed for about 2 weeks now.
I upgraded my pc yesterday and reinstalled Windows 7. Now on the starting Windows screen I have a little underscore blinking in the top left corner of the screen.
I have my comp with i7 950 and 58s0 board with XFX 5770 card. When my comp is connected to my 32inch Full HD tv at 720p resolution there is no problem but when i change the resolution to 1080p there is severe flickering and rgb colors on screen. I have the latest drivers installed in my system ie Catalyst Control Center 11.11
A couple of days ago, I noticed my screen started flickering randomly. Nothing really changed to my computer. I have uploaded a video which you can see right here: [URL]
I've tried quite a few things such as completely renewing my drivers and such. The video shows the flickering on Facebook but it happens a lot more then just on Facebook.
i have just installed 7 32bit onto a clean hdd, everything is great apart from my 8600gt!
i have an asrock nf6g vsta (built in vga), the built in vga works fine but my 8600gt displays a black flickering screen in vga mode and dvi (it sometimes comes up with a fraction of the top part of the screen but it is flickering)
when i have tried both out (onboard and 8600), i have disabled the other display adaptor so there shouldnt be conflict about them both running at once
i have previously had 7 installed with no problems with this card, but hard drive failiure leaded to a new drive and now this error. my display is a samsung 2232bw too.
I just purchased Office 2010 home & student . I installed the software, no error messages. However Both in Word and in Xcel I get flickering and the little circular arrow constantly showing. Screen keeps flickering. I do not have this problem with the poerpoint app that came with office or any other software.
So basically I'm using adsl for my internet and it seems everytime during a storm the internet will flicker on and off (ive seen it go up to 5 to 7 times within 5 minutes.) I dont know whats going on with regards to my isp but im wondering if this could be my modem, or my isp.
I have just managed to get myself another Acer netbook running windows 7 starter and everything is virtually fresh and new...I bought it second hand (I know,I know but I`m skint !) although it is pristine condition and running nice and fast etc...however,the cursor/pointer at times jumps all over the place and flickers etc for around 10-20 seconds before becoming ok...but it has happened quite a bit...it has had the memory upped to 2gb ram by the previous owner...aside form that it is free of any junk software etc.
I have a dell monitor when I installed Windows 7 on my celeron computer it seems that monitor is somehow disoriented of flickering whenever its opening up. Is this harmful to the monitor? I have an ATI built in video card. I'm just testing win 7 on this computer. I can't wait till finish buying the parts for my new computer.
I recently purchased a computer in Sept 2012 from Dino PC in the UK where I live. It has been running very well apart from an irritating red dot problem. My pc has an Intel i5 3570k processor (not over clocked) which has no additional graphics card and runs using the on board graphics HD 4000. I don't play computer games. I have connected my monitor (a Hanns G HG 216D) to another computer to check that my monitor or cables were not at fault and the lines of red dots do not appear.
I have my monitor connected to the pc with a VGA cable but I have also connected my monitor to my pc with 2 different HDMI cables and the red dots still appear. I have also connected my pc to a tv to use as a monitor with a different HDMI cable and the red dots still appear. These red dots didn't appear immediately when I first had the pc. I believe that they began to appear once I started updating my pc with the latest windows 7 updates (x64 bit).
The red dots appear horizontally across the monitor screen each time I switch on the pc at the very bottom edge of the screen (in small columns) then when the Asus screen appears (motherboard is Asus p8z77-V LX) in a single line horizontally across the middle of the screen, then again in a single line horizontally when the windows 7 start up screen appears. They then appear again if I have an image in the centre of the screen which is a dark block.
In this case they are grouped together in a horizontal block about 4 dots high and about 30 dots wide to the centre right of the dark area. The line of dots only appears horizontally and in red on dark screens. Occasionally I have seen the same lines of dots on a light coloured block in the centre right of the screen when the dots are pale blue and in the same formation. If I move the mouse over the red dots when they appear in a centre block of a dark colour the red dots momentarily disappear.
Windows 7 is. . . - x64 Ultimate - the original installed OS on the system? Nopeelf Built - an OEM or full retail version? I got it from college... - OEM = came pre-installed on system - Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer -What is the age of system (hardware)? a year .... - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) Just recently installed, a few weeks ago
Lately my girlfriend has been experiencing some flickering when connecting her laptop to my TV using a VGA cable or using HDMI. I know it's not the TV or the cables, since using my laptop (and others) worked fine.I updated her display drivers. She doesn't have a dedicated graphics card -- just one of those integrated ones -- but has never had a problem before. I'm not really sure what more to do for troubleshooting
I am pretty decent with computers but not an expert. I am having a little trouble with my home theater PC display flickering. My video card is a Radeon HD 6900 and the drivers are up to date. I have the HDMI out of my PC going to an Onkyo 7.1ch HT-R590 receiver and it's output going to my LG 42" TV. My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate X64.The system used to work perfectly fine but over time the display started to flicker at random times. I tried to hook my PC directly to my TV and it works perfectly fine, so I am 100% certain the problem is in the receiver. I did a bit of research and it appears to be a problem with my receiver over heating.
Now, if I run my HDMI to my TV, I cannot use 7.1ch surround sound. (Even after playing with Audio Return Channel) If I run optical to the receiver, my video card only puts out 5.1ch surround sound for some weird reason. So I did the next obvious choice, I ran a DVI to HDMI to my TV for video and HDMI to my receiver for audio. I thought it would trick it into thinking there was two displays but this does not work, I do not get audio. was wondering if you guys knew of any utilities that would allow me to output audio on one HDMI stream and video on my DVI port. I did a lot of looking around and it looks like DMCA calls for HDMI to be encrypted and you can't separate the stream. Or would I just be better off getting a separate audio card to connect to my a/v receiver
I'm getting some occasional flickering in Windows 7 Media Center 64-bit. The flickering only occurs when the NVIDIA control panel is set to control video color settings and Dynamic Range is set to Full (0-255). This setting can be found as such:
NVIDIA Control Panel->Video & Television->Adjust video color settings->With the NVIDIA settings->Advanced->Dynamic Range->Full (0-255).
Without this setting, the drivers apparently default to the limited (16-235) color range, which results in noticeably washed out video with poor contrast and incorrect black/white levels. The flickering appears to be between the full and limited ranges, as if the drivers are doing one thing and the player doing another. Or something.
Also what is strange is that it doesn't happen all the time. Most often it occurs during commercials, whereas the main broadcast might be unaffected -- but that's not always the case. Haven't figured out what triggers it yet.
