I have my comp with i7 950 and 58s0 board with XFX 5770 card. When my comp is connected to my 32inch Full HD tv at 720p resolution there is no problem but when i change the resolution to 1080p there is severe flickering and rgb colors on screen. I have the latest drivers installed in my system ie Catalyst Control Center 11.11
I have an old desktop I'm thinking about turning into an HTPC. I currently have an Nvidia Geforce 8800GT videocard, which says it supports 1080P: PNY
I'm trying to determine what is the best way to hook it up to my HDTV, which has both VGA and HDMI ports. Should I get a DVI --> HDMI Adapter for best resolution / clarity?
Or is hooking it up via VGA fine, even though I doubt I will get full 1080P performance.
has anyone found a compatible tool for 5770 overclocking beyond ccc limits which is
gpu clock-960/mem clock-1445
ive been using ati tray tool on my 4870 but when i install it with this gpu it makes my screen go messed up then my pc reboots. ive tried a few other with no success aswell amd oc ,after burner and rivatune but i havent got a clue how to set that up
I recently bought an ASUS laptop with this configuration: AMD Brazos Dual Core E350, 2GB ram memory which 1.6GB are usable and I guess that the rest it's for video and AMD Radeon HD 6310M graphic card, but i can't play 1080p movies. I have read some reviews and it says that can play smoothly 1080p movies...and i wonder why this isn't work.
Will I actually gain anything out of overclocking an AMD 5770? What's the easiest, most trouble-free way of doing it? I'm thinking AMD overdrive in CCC and letting it automatically detect my settings.
Not sure if it helps but I can turn my fans on my case (Antec 900) up high, if that may help with heat. I've also overclocked my CPU from 3.0ghz --> 3.4ghz and it runs fine so far.
Newegg.ca - XFX HD-577A-ZNFC Radeon HD 5770 (Juniper XT) 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Cardis my current and old card, I'm trying to find something under the $200 price range again with better performance... also, the card should preferably be the same size lengthwise...8.5") I can probably jam in a 9.2" card..
I purchased a Radeon HD 5770 not to long ago, I just tried to install it but windows does not recognize it! I Know people had trouble with this is the past but with other cards. I Have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
lately I have this problem with full HD movies. When I watch them it has these intermittent stops and pixalations specialy if the frame has lots of details and light.I use VLC player 2.1, freshly installed , I have ati radeon hd 4500 with 512ram.Maybe I should mention that I never had this problem before.
I am planning to add some 1080p MKV files to a DVD+RW. I know I will probably have to convert them to a different format so that players can read them, but what format would you recommend I use and how should I go about it? Also I am wondering about the quality loss. To my understanding there will be a loss in quality, but will it be that significant? I want the video to look good, but I would like to use DVDs because I don't think my computer (Dell Inspiron N7110) can write to Blu-ray discs. And since that's the only way to put the files onto a Blu-ray (without buying a recorder for it) I am planning on using DVD+RW discs.
I saw a similar thread here with the solution of increasing the idle clock speed of your GPU: Windows 7 with Radeon HD 5770
I am having very similar problems where my graphics card driver seems to crash all the time when I'm doing thing that don't stress the GPU. This started happening after I added 8 GB of memory that I bought recently. The thing is I can't find a way to edit the idle clock speed of my GPU in the new CCC. I have tried using the 11.12 and 12.1 and its the same thing. In my C:Users{YourUserName}AppDataLocalATIACE folder I noticed that the profiles.xml file is what has the CoreClockSpeed option but I can't seem to edit it (I open it and change the numbers but when I save it gets reverted right away).
my laptop has an ati x1600 mobility card and is outputting via hdmi (mini dvi-actually) to an ASUS VH242H (full 1080p) monitor. When I had this connected running xp I had not problem with the screen resolution and size, but now that I'm running windows 7 the 1920x1080 resolution is available, but the picture doesn't fill the whole screen, there is like a 1" black box around the displayed screen.
I believe it has something to do with my display driver, I'm currently using the one provided by windows update.
I just installed Windows 7 pro 64 bit on the system I built tonight, and only one of my monitors will work. I installed the latest drivers for my ATI 5770, and windows is recognizing both monitors, but only one comes on. The other stays in standby mode. I made sure both monitors are enabled.
If I switch the cables in the back of the video card, then the opposite monitor works. I can also drag monitor 2 to the left of monitor one, and it takes the taskbar away from the working monitor as expected, moving it to the monitor that won't turn on. Has anyone seen this issue before?
I recently got a 5770 as an upgrade to my 9500gt and I have been having lots of trouble. When I run games, they usually crash after 5-10 min. I have had this happen with Crysis and Mass Effect, though I was able to get Oblivion running for 20 min with no crash.
When the games crash, they lock up the whole system and I have to hit my reset button or turn the PSU off. I don't get a BSOD, just a solid color (or black) with vertical lines on it. Sometimes I will get some flickering before the crash. A couple times I had the game crash to the desktop with the "driver was not responding and has recovered" message.
I have tried to solve this by trying all the drivers for this card (the ones on the cd, the recommended one on the AMD page, and the beta) while making sure to uninstall the old drivers + run driver sweeper in safe mode. I also have updated my chipset to the 7/21 release and my BIOS to version 501.
When I take the card out and replace it with my 9500 gt all the problems go away. I want to figure out if somehow something in my system is messing with this before I go ahead and RMA it only to find out that the card was not the problem. I don't have a minidump, but I have alot of kernel dumps from when the system froze, so I am going to attach it (I don't know if it works the same as a minidump).
I have recently bought a HDTV from Philips 32" and it is announced as 1080p.
Now, when i tried connecting it to my computer, it says that 1366x768 is the native resolution, and not 1920x1080. I have even tried creating a custom resolution as 1080p to see if it works , but no luck.
So, how do i get this TV to work on 1080p?
Or better, how do i check to see if it really is 1080p?
My issue is that my video card drivers are not working right I have tried old and new and still locking up the card when I play Dirt 2 or NFS Pro Street. Everything work great until I put a load on the video card like try to play a game or go full screen with online video (u-tube – CNN new) Yes I tried the 9.12 also nothing well fix it.
I have removed all drivers first and all ATI Catalyst, too. I have installed the ATI Radeon HD 5770 on to my old XP Pro 32 bit with 9.12 XP drivers and it works great and can over clock the H out of it.
But Win 7 64 bit with no over clocking at all well not work worth a ^%$. Anyone have this issue? Did ya fix it? I am about to reload XP Pro 32 bit but would hate to do that.
I recently looked into this cards performance and even used furmark to benchmark test it. THIS program made the card reach 91c before I stopped it.I recently got MSI Afterburner to test it out even more accurately and it gave me readings of 79c only after maybe 4-5 minutes of play on Metro 2033 with High settings. It just worries me that it may be overheating at times.
I recently upgraded my laptop's display to a 1080p high definition part from hp. I would like to buy a decal (like the Windows 7 or i7 ones) to put on the outside of my laptop to show off the technology. The only one I can find is on ebay. But its from Germany. Full HD 1080 Sticker 15 x 19mm [458] | eBay?
It's been some time that I've been experiencing micro-lags during the playback of 720/1080p mkv movies (not all of them). It can be best noticed in the parts of the movie when there's a lot of movement. If I stop the movie and play this part again, the lag is still there. It's not the file's fault because there are movies that I used to watch without any problems some time ago (the same file).

I just picked up a new graphics card HD6750 for my HTPC. I am then connecting the HTPC via HDMI to an 1080p LED TV. How do I ensure that I am sending an 1080p signal to my TV? My TV manual states that the tv supports: 1080P 1920 x 1080P. So I know the TV can handle it. Do I simply set the Display settings to 1080P 1920?
I bought new computer about 6 month ago. Hdmi worked fine with my tv and I don't know whats wrong now. I know its not the cable because I bought another one and the tv is certainly not because it has 2 hdmi. The computer as I said is almost new so a would be very happy if I wouldn't have to give it repairing.
I run 7 Home Premium, 64bit on a Toshiba Satellite L505. My chipset is from the Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series family. When I try to play 1080p or even 720p videos (doesn't matter if it's VLC or MPC, or whatever) my screen blacks for a second and then comes back with the 'display driver stopped responding and has recovered' message. Then the VLC window is green, and I can't play the video.
I've uninstalled and re-installed the Intel drivers from the Toshiba website many, many times, and nothing has worked to solve this problem. I already clean boot, so there aren't any conflicting programs that cause this. HOWEVER, I have noticed that if I start up my computer, then restart from the start menu, I am able to play the videos without a hitch. Then, if I completely shut down and turn it on again, the issue re-surfaces.
i just received my i7 920 computer today and i got the radeon 5770 1 gb graphic card after installing windows 7 ultimate i tried to set up the dual monitor and under display it only recongizes 1 monitor while the 2nd monitor does what im doing on the first monitor how can i correct this??
So I was using my laptop over on a friends LG 47" TV and when I plugged it into my SVideo output on my Toshiba laptop with the Intel 965 Video card, the screen started to flash as it was trying to recognize the tv. I would get popups of the Video Driver was saved from a crash, but the screen would keep on flashing when it would go to a BSOD. I tried it twice and it ended the same way. I've used this before with my own normal tvs at home and it would work fine. Has anyone else run into a similar problem?
I'm looking to stream some of my Bluray rips from my Media Center server to my 360. I just recently got a 1080p TV (kinda late I know) and was just doing rips at 720p in .mkv and then converting them using mkv2vob to .m2ts using what I assume is an mpeg2 codec. I've noticed if I do the same with 1080p movies it stutters and the sound cuts out here and there. I havent tried yet, but I read that using x264 as the codec and .mp4 as the containter (please forgive me I'm using the wrong terminology, I really dont know a ton about this). Would that give me better performance? Or could someone suggest a way to make 1080p while still keeping good quality 5.1 audio stream perfectly?
Heres my "server's" specs and network if it helps: AMD 9600 Quad Core 4gb RAM 10/100 LAN (no gigabit) GeForce 8600GT graphics card
Netgear 16 port 10/100 switch, both the 360 and the server are on it. It might be important to note that the server could be recording one or two shows at once while I'm watching the movie.
a few years ago i got a 5700 with windows vista 32 bit...playing an online game my frame rate was around 180...when I upgraded to win 7 ..ever since then the highest my frame rate is 60...times it drops into the teens..
I recently installed Windows 7 on my laptop (far beyond the requirements). Before the installation, I was running Windows XP. I am currently attempting to play Warcraft III but the screen flickers every 15 seconds. The game has been reinstalled successfully, including appropriate updates, screen resolution, and refresh rate.
Nothing fixes the flickering and it is a little annoying. Can anyone help me out or suggest some possible solutions?

3 days ago, I started getting these 'flickering' pop ups at the top left hand corner of my screen. Some are whole ads and others are just bits and pieces like a 'puzzle'. They are non-stop and especially when I am on my AOL 'Welcome/home page'. I can hardly read what is displayed on my left screen.
i am using nvidia geforce 520mx on my samsung laptop.the screen is flickering so much while playing medal of honor.i am on latest drivers directly from nvidia(issue is there even before the update). bug in game:no,the game dosent flickers when played on discrete graphics.
