Just reformatted my alienware laptop because I haven't used it in months. Now I don't even see "Network Adapter" listed under device manager so when trying to install the driver i don't think it had any effect. Running m15x windows 7 home premium 64 bit.
I cannot for the life of me get my internet to work.. more specifically it keeps telling me I need to install network drivers.I checked BIOS and LAN settings are all good.I've tried installing a realtek driver update. On my device manager not the network adapter tree does not even show up. I've done 2 full re-installs of windows 7 and no luck.I'm using an ASUS M4A89GTD PRO mobo, running windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
my brother's hdd in his laptop was going bad, it kept failing to boot. so i replaced it with another one. when i turned the laptop back on it started installing all the drivers for his hardware (windows was already installed on the 2nd hdd) and prompted me to reboot. after i did windows failed to start several times. i re-installed windows from scratch, and now his graphics card isn't showing up in device manager and windows cant find a driver for the network or ethernet card.
his specs: gateway windows 7 professional x64 ati mobility radeon hd 4250 broadcom bcm943225hm (network card) amd phenom II x4 n9790 4gb ddr3
I noticed that I don't have any Internet connection (red x) but my laptop seems to have Internet connection. I checked my Device Manager and it seems that Network Adapter is missing instead there is 'Other Device' and below it was a 'Unknown Device' (with a yellow exclamation mark). I tried to install the driver but no luck via USB. I also did a system restore point but still no luck. I also tried to 'Scan for hardware changes' and still again, no luck... It's still unknown device.
I searched the Internet and they said the resetting the CMOS will solve this problem, is this true?
My specs:
Processor: AMD Athlon II x2 250 3.00GHz Motherboard: EMX-AMD880HD3-PRO (Emaxx Technology) RAM: 4.00GB GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 6670 1GB GDDR5 (OCed - is this safe?) PSU: 600w Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit
I recently reformatted my primary HD and have come back to realize than my PC is not longer able to detect my Ethernet cable. I've tried to sort this problem out from device manager but network adapter no longer shows up.
I just installed Windows 7 on an Acer Aspire 7551. The internal wireless network adapter does not appear in the device manager. So I am using an external USB wireless adapter until I get the internal one to work. I tried to contact Acer but if the system is out of warranty, you can drop dead for all they care. I went to their support website and downloaded a driver for 'Wireless LAN Driver'. They have two different vendors. I chose Broadcom. It downloaded a zip file and I don't know how to install it.
It was working fine, I didn't install or change nothing (mostly is used as MediaCenter). It was working perfectly without any change for months. Then I shutdown one day as always, and when I reboot the next day no network is present. The PC is an Acer Aspire X3900 desktop with an integrated intel NIC. This is what I have seen: In the Windows 7 network configuration panel there isn't any NIC present. IPCONFIG shows nothing, no adapter is listed (is not like when you unplug the network cable and the adapter is listed buy without the IPs; now the command shows nothing at all). But, and that is the weird thing, in device manager all seems fine. The Intel NIC is listed without any warning mark. Looking the properties, all looks ok. This is what I had already try: I reinstalled the NIC drivers. No changes. Reinstalled the chipset drivers. No changes. Uninstalled NIC drivers with an Intel utility. Then I rebooted and reinstalled the drivers when windows detected the new hw. No changes. Disabled the NIC adapter in device manager, reboot and re-enable. No changes. Uninstalled the NIC adapter in device manager. Reboot and re-install the drivers when windows detect the new hw.No changes. Disabled the NIC adapter in BIOS. Boot windows, shutdown, re-enable the adapter in BIOS, and reboot. einstall the drivers. No change. Recover the system from an old recover point, but no change.
Yesterday I got my friend to download windows 7 on my mac via bootcamp. I got it back today and I tried my wireless at home but didn't work. So I tried LAN line as well, which didn't work either. I went through few sites, they all told me to go on device manager and update my drives. The problem is that i can't find either modem or network adapter on my device manager.
I have a IBM Thinkpad T41, with Windows 7 installed, it has the symbol for wireless LAN on the screen surround but I can't get the device to show up in device manager, I tried installing the drivers as per the instructions, it does have it, how do I get it to operate? it doesn't show up in the adapter settings either
I have a small problem with my Windows 7. Here's what happened:Yesterday, my pc was running fine. I turned it on at 10am and it was running well. My sister ordered a new router so I set it up for her (AirPort Extreme). I installed the utility for it, was a simple setup for me. After that, I connect to it wirelessly and I see that windows update has a few security updates. They install as I turn off the pc. I then turn it back on a few hrs later and notice that when it reaches the login screen, it takes a few secs for it to load. This is unusual being that the days before it was always ready to receive input. So I login, get the welcome screen, and my desktop screen. Taskbar loads as usual, however I can't get anything to show up when I click on it. I think at first that its Comodo (is in training mode) so I close it out. Still nothing. I then press ctrl+alt+delete. Nothing. I then press it rapidly to see what happens. After a few mins, my screen turns black. A message then shows up that ctrl+alt+delete has been pressed but due to something that it won't show up. Had to press either the power button or esc to leave the screen. Safe mode works. I do a system restore back to when the windows update and to the installation of the router. I scanned and haven't found anything yet. Today, my pc looks like its running fine but its still taking a few secs on the login screen and the desktop still idles. I'm going to contact HP to see what they can do but I wanted a second opinion.
Here's my specs (looks like this):

Opened up Device Manager to look at settings for the various Com "Ports" in use and just can't see any listed. Here's a snap of what I have.Where do they show, or how can I make them show up?
I installed a new driver for u-lead but it doesn't show in device manager as unknown or usb. Windows 7 shows that it is compatible. The program won't work.
First my two DVD burners and blu ray burner were gone in Windows, then most of my hard drive partitions disappeared..BIOS shows the burners OK.Partition Manager shows only C, D and E, and the rest as Unallocated (540Gb).Burners do show up in device manager but with exclamation marks "no driver".

I have a laptop in which I am running windows 7 pro x64. But as I had a problem with the weak signal I bought an alfa network antenna : 802.11/g long-rangemodel awus036h.I have installed the driver following step by step the instructions from the driver's site. But I am only able to see only the other's SSIDs not MINE and also Even when i am forcing to connect to my SSID it doesn't connect. My network is not Hidden so I dont get it.
The Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network adapter works about 40% of the time. The other 60% it says there is a hardware issue and it cannot connect. I then generally fiddle around with the ethernet cable ie unplug it plug it back in move it around again and restart. This sometimes works and I have no problems. Then when I restart my computer its a whole game on whether I can get it working again or not.
I have the latest drivers, and it is not a firewall/security issue.
I had a problem with the computer after a storm it turns to not have internet. After I checked and saw I could'n connect to internet through the modem with a broadband connection. Than checked Device Manager and there was not a network controller and everything was in order no question marks or yellow rectangles. Than tried to re install windows 7. After I tried to install the realtek driver for me LAN it show up the message The RealTek Network Adapter/Controller was not found.
I just got a brand new comp it was working fine for a few months and it stopped working properly. It was acting funny and freezing sometimes then I got on another day and then it says No network adapter or driver is installed, also im booted off my internet and 3 of my usbs stopped working also. I've tried system restore the disc they gave me reinstalling the drivers. I finally got the usbs to work again but today they stopped.Under "Device Manager" there is no network options.I have done a boot-time scan along with and antivirus.
Windows 7 64 Bit, does not detect ANY network adapters. We installed windows in August and it has been fine, now for some reason it simply doesn't detect any adapters at all and does not display a Network Adapters heading in the device manager folder treeThe hardware in question is an onboard LAN card on a ASUS Sabertooth X58 motherboard, the lan card is listed in the bios as a RTL8110SCLANI have checked to be sure that the device is enabled in the BIOS, as well as disabling other on board devices in case there was some kind of conflict. I also tried installing an add on LAN card and that card is not detected either. I have also reset the bios and removed the battery etc. I have tried reinstalling the chipset and other drivers and I ha
I have an emachines em350, I installed Windows 7 as a clean install onto a new hard drive.
It's al sweet except the sound and network adapters have not installed. In fact it seems that Windows 7 is declaring they never existed in the first place.
I have retrieved the latest drivers, Windows 7 spits them out stating that the devices are not present. I have tried the older versions using compatibility mode. I have tried install legacy hardware. I have tried to flush them out through command prompt. Nothing.
The sound 'card' (which I believe to be onboard) is seen by device manager, but refuses to have anything*to do with drivers.
The LAN I also believe is part of the motherboard, but it just won't show at all.
I just installed Windows 7 RC version and I have my first (I hope last problem).
I have got Cnet cnwl-311 network adapter for an internet connection with router. I tried XP drivers but they don't work, when I try to launch cnet utility an error appears ,,device or driver not found". I tried rebooting, reinstering card, reinstalling drivers etc but It still doesn't work.
Maybe sb know how to make this work? Or have some other drivers (maybe for vista) which I can try?
My Network Adapters has suddenly disappeared after a Critical update by Windows update, now my network is X'ed out. I already did reformat and still nothing and in the past all I do is to System restore but after a while it had errors and I was forced to reformat but after that there's still no connection.
In Windows Home Premium 64bit we encounter this problem on a machine after trying to uninstall a norton product manually. The norton software led to serious problems of randomly emerging BSODs.As system uninstall did not work we researched a tutorial on how to manually uninstall the soft.t can be found here Enterprise Support - Symantec Corp. - How to manually uninstall the Symantec Endpoint Protection client from Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 2008 R2 64-bitEverything worked smoothly until the last three steps of the routine failed (12.-14We can not uninstall/delete the wireless network adapters as described. After clicking "uninstall" there is the window that asks for confirmation (to uninstall) but after clicking "yes" the device manager window simply refreshes - and the device remains unchanged.
I just bought a new ASUS computer with Windows 7. I have a Macbook Pro and would like to transfer my photos and music onto my new computer. I have 2 external hard drives that work perfectly fine on my mac as well as other PCs. When I plug either of my external hard drives in they are recognized in device manager and say they are working properly but are not recognized in disk manager or under my computer...
I have a hp pavilion dv9700 running windows 7 home premium, and the atheros wireless device keeps disapearing out of the device manager and stops working sometimes it works again if i reboot ,i have tried a replacement but the same happens.
How do i figure out what driver or even component windows wants software for when in the device manager under other devices it lists an unknown device and windows update cannot find anything.
Oh and is it appropriate for me to use this topic to ask another question regarding explorer.exe as while i am inside a folder i delete (by choosing delete from the context menu in the tree view) while inside that folder on this particular laptop PC explorer. always crashes, collect information, sends it and restarts explorer. I have not experienced this problem on any other pc running any version of windows 7, oh and the same happened with build 7264 x32 and the current install of build 7600 x64.
Have recently purchased a small usb inspection snake camera with led light and when testing it plugged it into two desktops computers (one xp pro not sure of the other as it was a network work computer) It automatically loaded the drivers and brought up a screen automatically with the realtime image.(no driver disc came with it). However plugging into my windows 7 64bit sony laptop it signals a connection beep, loaded drivers automatically but wouldn't open or show up on my computer disc manager as an external usb source to click on. It does however show up on device manager as a usb camera and when I unplug and replug in it disappears and reappears so I know I have the right camera (not the lap top webcam inbuilt one that shows USB 2 Camera). Have tried updating drivers automatically and uninstalling it etc. Need it to work on the lap top so it can act as the movable screen for it?
