View 1 RepliesI have a Netgear DGNB2100 Wireless N router. It is connected to an old PC via Ethernet cable. That connection works.
While downloading a 64 bit driver to use for the USB adapter for my PC, I connected my laptop to the wireless network with the laptops WiFi card (Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG), and used the internet for about ten minutes.
I then configured the USB adapter for my PC, after disconnecting the laptop.
My laptop will detect the network, but when I put in the password, I get a message saying Network Security Key Mismatch, and am prompted to type the key in again.
I have also tried pressing the WPS button on the router instead of typing in the password with no luck.
The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5920, with the aforementioned Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network card, and it is running Windows 7 Professional 32 bit.
I am using a netgear DG834GT router however having just bought a computer running on windows 7 I am having real connectivity problems, other laptops in the household are on XP and have no problem, is there an answer out there?

No WPS button exists on the router! The instructions also I can use any wireless network manager utility to set this up. Can't find where this is in Windows 7.The I pad has found the NETGEAR_EXT address but won't connect. And the light on the extender does no indicate teh router is communicating with it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Netgear WNA3100 wireless usb adapter for my HP Win 7 64 bit laptop. I have been trying for 2 and half days to figure out why my speed is slow, why i don't have a good signal, and/ or if I do have a bit of a signal to my luck, why my signal comes and goes. I don't have internet at home at the moment because I am trying to save up to go to school. I am picking up a public business signal from a block away (which I have asked for permission to use), but I only am receiving not much of a signal with the Netgear usb wireless adapter.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed the Windows 7 upgrade. My printer would not print so I called Dell. I was on the phone with them for 3 hours trying to get it to print. They eventually told me that my wireless router, (Netgear WNR2000) had a wrong IP address of 168. something. They told me I had to change it to a 192. number. They further told me to change to WEP. I went to the wireless site and typed in 192.168.1.1 and logged in. I changed it to WEP but then the internet would not work. I do not know what to do. Can someone please help me?

I am trying to set up WPA security on my new Dell Inspiron Laptop,When I go to "Help and Support" for instructions it says:"The Set Up a Network wizard will guide you through setting up a security key.Click to open Set Up a Network."My problem is when I "Click to open Set up a Network" it only shows my neighbor's router [A Linksys WRT110]. My Netgear WGR614v6 does not show up as an option to connect to.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Netgear Wireless-G WGR61v10 router has suddenly stopped doing its thing. No changes were made to it, and it's not that old - maybe a year and a half. Short enough to not think its gone bad and long enough to stop getting free Netgear support.I rebooted everything after pulling the power, first from the cable modem, then the router, then the computer, but no change. Neither my laptop or desktop will get online through the router, even when directly connected. I can ping the router, however.

Been trying all day to connect to the internet with the above router.Happened accross a screen saying Firewall settings. It says for the inbound services "BLOCK always" is this my problem?I have tried to amend this to " ALLOW always" to which the outbound services are already set.My next problem is it is asking for the inbound services to be adjusted so I have setthe service parameter to ALL, action ALLOW always but now is the problem it wants an address putting into the 4 boxes for the Send to LAN Server parameter,I have tried various setting but to no avail. Exactly where can I get this information from?

I am using the Netgear Knowledge Base article ID 19852 titled "Set Up a Wireless Router as an Access Point on a Network".In Step 5 is says in Advanced tab Setup > LAN "In the IP Address field, change the LAN IP address of the router (WNR3500) to 192.168.1.100 (same IP segment of the main (AT&T) router (192.168.1.1) and uncheck the DHCP server box.I did that and the wireless access point doesn't work. The AT&T Gateway wireless router IP address is 192.168.1.254. I also tried changing the WNR3500 LAN IP address to 192.168.1.200 and the access point still doesn't work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently bypassed my previous BSOD issue by simply replacing my HDD with a SSD and doing a fresh install of Windows 7 64bit Pro.
Where the computer is currently located, I need to run wireless internet. To do this, I have used a NetGear wireless adapter "WNDA3100v2". It's a nice adapter, and it's worked fine for about 2 years, including immediately prior to adding my new SSD.
So I fire up my fresh copy of windows, and install my critical software. Once all of that is sorted, I go to install the drivers from the CD. I insert the USB adapter, and click next.
As soon as the adapter is inserted, Windows begins searching for a driver which fails. On the same instant that I click next, the proprietary software for the device says "detecting". This stays this way infinitely it seems, and never detects the device. If I just yank the adapter out, it will say "failed to detect", so this leads me to believe it is at least aware that it's there?
I tried to backdoor it, and ran a wired connection through my window, down the outside of the house, to my router LOL, and forced Windows to search for it's own updated driver. On most occasions, it just says "failed", but I was able to get it to find one last night, and it downloaded to 100% before it just hung up for a while, and then "failed".
i can't seem to get my netgear wg111v2 wireless usb to work. I know there are a lot of known problem with this device and windows 7.My problem is that i have configured it correctly i think, but it does not find my network. I'm using windows to find networks and not the netgear program.

My kids are completely frustrated with having a new machine but being able to get online.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've upgraded my PC to Windows 7 Home Premium today (from Win XP Pro) and now the wireless network adapter does not work.
The adapter is a Netgear WG331 v1. I've tried downloading the drivers from the Netgear site - both those for the v1 and the newer drivers for the v3 and neither have fixed the issue.
I've used the Win 7 troubleshoot feature to install this driver (it is meant to be included within Win 7) but this does not work either.
I've also tried plugging the ethernet cable that normally goes directly into the back of my Netgear router into the PC, in order to provide Win 7 with internet access. However, this has not worked, with the connection apparently not recognised by the computer. I've tried to update the drivers for my PC's motherboard to remedy this, but have been unable to find any that are compatible with this version of Windows. The motherboard is MSI n1996.
Windows 7 troubleshooter shows missing drivers for the following: Multimedia Audio Controller (two of these), PCI Input Device, Ethernet Controller.
What I'm banking on is that an internet connection will enable Win 7 to locate drivers for all of these, but I am currently unable to make this happen. The internet connection is running fine and the wireless router is broadcasting the signal properly (I am accessing it right now via my laptop).

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am connecting to my office computer from home using remote desktop connection.
My office computer is in a network under router. So I forwarded a port 3389 to my computer's internal ip address. Now I want to connect to another computer at my office from home. I tried forwarding the port 3990. But I was not able to access using remote desktop connect.
What should I do to access the second computer. Will 3390, 3391 ... will not work?
I run a web server from my laptop, and my IP address (location) gets updated via DynDNS.org servers. My notebook is always behind a NAT-configured LAN, and I have configured the router firewall to pass port 80 service requests to my IP (usually 192.168.x.2, where x is maybe 0 or 1 or whatever.I use NetSetMan for location based setting).the DHCP server is configured to stay away from static addresses in the private LAN.Most routers have their own port 80 service, the configuration interface, accessible by hosts inside the LAN.I don't have a problem with port 80 service requests coming from the WAN getting passed to 192.168.x.2 host running the web server.BUT, users in the 192.168.x subnet requesting service from within the LAN do NOT get delivered the web page from host 192.168.x.2, but instead the router's configuration interface, if they use the host NAME. Of course, if they use the host IP address, they get the content. What is happening of course is that if anyone uses url..., it goes to DynDNS.org where the IP is resolved to the address a.b.c.d, the WAN IP address of the router I am currently connected to. So the http client bundles the packet to the destination a.b.c.d:80.The users INSIDE the LAN get the router configuration interface web page when they type in a.b.c.d:80, but not users OUTSIDE the LAN (in that WAN).
View 6 Replies View RelatedI need help port forwarding my minecraft server via wifi. I have all permisions to setup but after all the threads and programs I have tried, nothing works. I get exception Failed to Bind to port perhaps another server is already running on this port.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAny solution to this problem.
I have for example a few machines up and running on a LAN (might be VM's but that shouldn't be an issue).
Say I have five with addresses 192.168.2.2 ==> 192.168.2.6
I might want to RDP to any of these from behind a router.
Using something like No-IP (No-IP - Dynamic DNS, Static DNS for Your Dynamic IP) I can get a an "Internet acessible" domain so I don't need to know the actual IP address that the Internet sees my router.
As I'm behind a router having Multiple domains won't help either as to the external Internet my router is seen as a single IP address.
However the router will only port forward to a single IP address on my LAN.
So if I need to RDP to any other machine on my LAN other than the default one presumably I could only do this by using a different default port for RDP for each of the machines on the LAN. OK not pretty but "Do-able".
Now we get to the real hassle -- If I did this then I'd need a different version of RDP on the CLIENT computer -- not possible if I'm using a work laptop .
Any solutions . I'm totally flumixed by this one.
