So I tried LAN line as well, which didn't work either. I went through few sites, they all told me to go on device manager and update my drives. The problem is that i can't find either modem or network adapter on my device manager.

Jul 17, 2012Computer shows generic pnp moniter in device manager im not getting the fps i should in games resolution gives me my zoran tv. i updated my drivers to my best knowledge i believe and i have resolution issues and it wont read a second moniter. i have a Nvidia Geforce 550Ti graphics card, and a AMD fx 6100 6 core processor from cyber pc. i dont know if that helps but. i cant get this resolved.i also have it hooked up with hdmi cable for the tv hook up. for my second monitor VGA cable.

Jan 25, 2013HeI am at wits end here trying to figure out how to fix this pc. A friend came to me with the Acer Aspire One D255E with a wireless internet issue. The PC is Running Windows 7 Starter 32-bit. I immediately thought "well there must be a switch that she turned off" There is no switch on the computer for the wireless card. I thought "well there must be a driver issue, Ill go to the device manager and update the driver for it". Then when I got to the device manager... Nothing shows up for a wireless lan card even existing in the laptop, but I know it does, because A) It's a "net Book" B) she was using the internet last week. So, I thought maybe it's not showing up because thee computer needs the drivers for it first, which is unusual, but since its windows 7 starter I thought it needed a kick in the rear to get it goin. So i downloaded all the drivers for the PC using a different computer, and installed the different drivers to see which one would work. Well none of them worked, and now im sitting here scratching my head on what to do next. I have scoured the web and seen a few other people with issues like this.

Aug 1, 2009How do i figure out what driver or even component windows wants software for when in the device manager under other devices it lists an unknown device and windows update cannot find anything.
Oh and is it appropriate for me to use this topic to ask another question regarding explorer.exe as while i am inside a folder i delete (by choosing delete from the context menu in the tree view) while inside that folder on this particular laptop PC explorer. always crashes, collect information, sends it and restarts explorer. I have not experienced this problem on any other pc running any version of windows 7, oh and the same happened with build 7264 x32 and the current install of build 7600 x64.
Windows 7 Usb Camera Device Shows Up In Device Manager But Not Computer
May 31, 2012Have recently purchased a small usb inspection snake camera with led light and when testing it plugged it into two desktops computers (one xp pro not sure of the other as it was a network work computer) It automatically loaded the drivers and brought up a screen automatically with the realtime image.(no driver disc came with it). However plugging into my windows 7 64bit sony laptop it signals a connection beep, loaded drivers automatically but wouldn't open or show up on my computer disc manager as an external usb source to click on. It does however show up on device manager as a usb camera and when I unplug and replug in it disappears and reappears so I know I have the right camera (not the lap top webcam inbuilt one that shows USB 2 Camera). Have tried updating drivers automatically and uninstalling it etc. Need it to work on the lap top so it can act as the movable screen for it?

Oct 23, 2011i cant install nvidia drivers " this graphics driver could not find compatible graphic hardware", and i can't see my nvidia card on the device manager, and can't get the hardware ID, it looks like my laptop doesn't have this graphic card installed.

May 3, 2012I am trying to install 32 barcode fonts (type .ttf) using a batch file. Everything that I have read says that you should just be able to copy the font to C:windowsfonts and then add the appropriate value to the registry at HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionFonts. My batch file does both of these things, however the fonts still do not show up in the font manager (or applications). They do show up if I browse to the fonts folder using cmd so I know they are where they should be. Is there something that I am missing here? These fonts need to be installed on every computer at my company so manually installing them isn't really an option.

BOOT Manager Showing Multiple Installations
Aug 14, 2011evertyime i load windows the boot manager pops up showing 6 different windows installations. I have been troublshooting of late so have been installing/reinstalling windows. The thing is, i have formated each prior installation before installing a new one yet boot manager keeps popping up during OS loading showing me several different options. All of them except for the most recent have no data showing the formating worked. How do i prevent boot manager from showing all these old installations?

There was also provision by a menu bar at the top of Task Manager window to shut down pc etc., from within the task manager.Presently my Windows 7 Premium 64 bit's Task Manager shows only what looks like a list of processes (Not Applications) topped by a head-bar having Name/PID/Description/Status/Group and a selectable button at the bottom right for Services.(I could have uploaded ascreen if this Ask Your Question Form had provided for attachments!).I suspect this change in Task Manager came after some new installs - Windows Updates etc.

Nov 10, 2009i have just finished a remote assist with Microsoft to try to resolve a problem i am having with my win 7 os. It appears from my trolling the forums that it is not an uncommon scenario. As i use my machine i see the memory monitor gadget showing more and more usaage of ram until finally i get a "not enough resources to run application" prompt.
The guy from microsoft cleared my cookies, my prefetch files, google toolbar etc without effect. He suggested that some of my optimising utilities could be the problem until i explained that i had installed the to try to CURE the problem. He finally cleared off without saying anymore and i was left a link if i wanted to resume the chat support. This link didn't work. Any comments would be great.
