2 of my DVDRW Drives aren't showing in Windows Explorer, or working. 1 is an IDE drive. The other is Sata drive this happened when I either uninstalled some programs or some type of hardware, or after some software drivers were downloaded, what could have caused this?
i installed Windows 7 x86. everything works but the problem is my audio driver.i didn`t find C-Media CMI9880(intel 82801fb hight definition audio) for windows 7.i have a onboard MSI MS-7046 (Medion OEM). do you have suggestions?
RECENT PROBLEMS REQUIRING A FIX1. Although the Autoplay is selected as default, neither my DVD/CD Drive NOR MY Blue Ray drive will autoplay. They require to be opened manually.2. I am unable to use Drag-and-Drop in Windows Explorer to copy files to a removable disc OF ANY TYPE/BRAND, yet both drives will successfully PLAY from any media source.3. The Right-hand mouse click no longer shows the normal options. This situation applies irrespective of which mouse I use. For example, when I load OR try to copy files to a new disc, I get a message panel telling me the disc is not recognised and asking for it to be formatted.
I have recently been bereft of the ability to write to standard CD/DVD drive or BluRay drive with any type of blank disc. I always use windows drag-and-drop. All automatic updates are installed.Every system tool test or troubleshooter says that the two devices are working properly. They can play pre-recorded material but I simply cannot get them to recognise blank media.
have a quad boot setup(all on seperate drives),just recently my drive selection at boot up is missing two of my drives, when i select either one of the two options i recieve an error message (0xc000000e),but if i put in my win 7 install disc & reboot & ignore the "press any key to continue"my machine then gives me my full 4 boot choices.Ive uninstalled virtual pc 2007 & my new dvd burner as they were the only new installs ive done before this error occured, tried startup repair from win 7 disc & system restore no luck.
I'm having an issue installing Windows 7 (7100) 64 bit. (I have also tried 32 bit and 32 bit v7000) #Note, I burned the disk to a TDK-R 4.7gig Dvd using imgBurn at x2 write speed and verify. I also use the disk to install a guest os in vm workstation. So I know the disk is fine.
The install fails shortly after clicking "Install Now"
At first I get a cd/dvd driver device error or w/e. I load the drivers for my dvd drive. All goes well.
Then I get to the area I would normally select the install drive/reformat section. Instead of seeing C: & D: as usual the list is completely blank.
This is where I'm stuck and I have no clue how to fix it.
Initially i had a local disk of C:, D:, E:, F:, Now i have only C: My local drives are missing.I dont Know how to fix it. When i tried to fix in desk management there also no local drives were present.
Before the problem i downloaded win2flash software for making bootable usb drive. After installing,in the middle of operation i got a blue screen then in the boot screen i got a message that BOOT MANAGER FAILED .I fixed that problem.
I have upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate, since then I have not had the CD drives showing in windows explorer in the drop down section on the left. If I put a disc in it then shows up. I am used to XP and all my drives showing.I looked at the properties for the drives and there is the message showing, Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) instead of "this device is working properly".
I purchased a vizio all in one desktop model CA24-A2 , with windows 7 installed. I upgraded it to windows 8, but decided to return back to windows 7 because the Metro UI always crashes on me. I purchased a windows 7 disc and booted the computer off the disc. When the installation asks which drive to install it to, nothing appears. For some reason, the installation disc is not reading the drives. I've checked vizio's page, but didn't find any drivers for the hard drive that would work. I check the Bios menu and both drives appear. I've read on other forum about changing the bios mode (AHCI,IDE), but my bios menu is very restricted, and i dont have that option available. I used MiniTool Partition wizard on a bootable cd, and it was able to see my hard drives as well. I added some pictures below. When i try to boot windows with windows 8, "bootmgr is missing" error appears. After restarting my computer several times it seems i only have access to the bios menu f2, and not f8 for recovery.
ack when I first set up my system I used a tutorial on this forum that showed how to install the OS on one drive and everything else on the other. The setup required changing the registry settings in audit mode during the initial OS install. I am looking for this tutorial but now can't find it. I even posted in this post, but even those are missing so I can't just trace my posts. I'm confused as to why it is missing and am hoping anybody could lead me back to it.
I have a hp dv 6000 i was trying to dual boot my pc with win 7 and xp pro, with win 7 installed first. in order to install xp i had to disable my sata native. I can dual boot but on my xp its seem I'm missing alot of drives. I have no internet or sound,
I have a brand new Sony SVT13112FXS - hard drive is a hybrid of 500 GB HDD and 32 GB SDD.I was attempting to reformat it to get all of the anti-virus stuff off, except when I tried to reformat no disks were shown in the reformat tool. It asked for drivers, so I assumed I'd need to install the SATA/chipset drivers. I downloaded them from the Sony website but it wouldn't allow me to install them (from a flash drive). Specifically the error is "No drives were found. Click load driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation."In my troubleshooting I (stupidly) marked the wrong partition as active and got the dreaded "bootmgr is missing" upon restart. I attempted to repair using the windows 7 disk as a recovery tool and selected "startup repair" 3 times, but it still does not work.I am able to get into command prompt and I am assuming I can inactivate the (wrong) active partition there. However, when I go into DISKPART and type "list disk", all that shows up is my flash drive that I am attempting to install windows from - the computers hard drive does NOT show up here.I will also happily completely reformat instead of repairing, but I cannot do that since I can't get the disks to show up in the reformat tool.
I just installed a clean install on my 64bit machine with Windows7 Pro. Media Player is nowhere to be found. Searching the drive discovered hundreds of files that are not executable and have the registry naming system in them, also found several .dlls but no executable. Microsoft's site simply says that it is installed with the OS and there is nothing about how to add it. I did look through all the add windows features and did not find it. I also tried to find the .cab file on the install DVD to see if I could manually install it, but I could not find that as the file structure of install discs has changed since I knew how to do this before.
Looks like the NHL score is not showing up anymore in Media Center in the Sports Section. I' ve Checked that it is enable and if i try the Nfl score it works fine.Anyone having this problem, im getting this on both of my Mce (desktop and laptop) If you have another app that would do the job or displaying nhl scores i'm up for it also.
I am running Windows 7 Pro on a Dell T3400. My question concerns Media Center. I have a bunch of mp3 files I renamed. Now Media Center cannot find the files. The files are on an external usb drive. I tried moving the renamed files to a different directory and then adding that new directory to Media Center. I'd like to learn how Media Center indexes files and how to manipulate the index. Also I understand mp3 files have tags on them to hold information.
1.) How do you manipulate the Media Center file index? 2.) What would you do to force Media Center to find the missing mp3 files? 3.) Where can I find more information on how tags work in mp3 files?
when i plug my iphone into my asus laptop nothing happens, or if i plug my camera in via usb nothing happens but if i plug my usb reading light it works, so it seems to be not reconizing any device been happening for 5 weeks now
2 of my usb flash drives are not recognised while 2 are, and I have just been given a new one. When I plugged it in the computer said it was loading drivers and then that it was ready for use.It shows up in device manager but I cannot access it from 'my computer'.The same applies to 2 of my 4 drives.
MY Windows 7 Media Center has has a way to connect to Internet but the satellite part of the software is missing? Is there different versions of the software that does not have the satellite capability?
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 build 7600 United States English version.... Internet TV and Sports are missing from Media Center, I am at a loss..
I have installed build 7000 and it has been working pretty good for the last week.
Now my usb drives and sticks stopped working. OS will see the drives, but cannot access them. It shows drive as raw data, when I plug it in on XP or Vista the drive works fine. What could cause this??
My area (Midlothian) had the digital switchover recently. As a result we had to re-tune our freeview receivers. every one in the house picked up all channels no problem except media center. When it scans for channels it seems to find them no problem and they all show up in the guide but when i try to watch ITV, channel 4, channel 5, E4 and a few others i am told there is no signal or the channel is off air. This must be something to do with mediacenter because the channels are watchable in the software that came with my tuner card.
my windows media wont play and any programs i know install ie "nero" my "sony ericson phone disc "dvix" and others its probebley some thing simple but i havent got used to windows 7
I've got a laptop that used to be connected to a domain that was locked down tighter than Fort Knox...I think I cleared out all the old GPO's, but I'm still digging for ancient registry values and other settings everywhere that locked things down.Right now, I'm having trouble connecting my phone to my laptop, it's completely disabled all access to USB removable devices (especially drives, but apparently others as well).I've changed the usbstor > start setting in the registry already from 4 to 3I've whacked every GPO I could findI've tried to manually do "net start usbstor" and it gives system error 1058, says it's either disabled or has no devices associated with it.
my media player used to work well before, but since 2 months its not playing any music in the playlist, if i put a song it will play but then i can't put it on pause and no further songs can be played
Netfix is shutting down Media Center when we try to watch a movie. It was working fine but this morning every time we try to access Netfix we get an error saying Media Center shutting down and restarting?
