View 1 RepliesI just did a new build, Intel i5 2500K, ASRock mobo, 16 g ram, my old PNY Quadro NVS 440 video card for my 4 monitors, Crucial M4 64 g SSD, turned it on, works from git go, but I can't connect to the internet. Finally talked with MS support somewhere and they finally said that my network adapter was missing and said I had to buy a drivers and utility disk for my computer. I'm on ATT Uverse and 2 other computers in the house can connect just fine. It's not Uverse or the connection, it's something wrong with my W7 OS or my stupidity. Did I install the software OS incorrectly? Why is there something missing from my OS or computer? How can Windows 7 HP 64 bit not come with a network adapter or driver?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWindows 7 won't connect to the internet? The ethernet cable is plugged in and it works, but when I am on Windows 7 it cannot detect that I am connected to the internet. I have tried unplugging and replugging and restarting but it still doesn't work. When I troubleshoot, it says: Install a driver for your network adapter.

I had to download a iso file from [URL] as he wasn't give a installation disc. The install went fine except when it was finished there was no internet connection available. I tried to troubleshoot but couldn't find any network drivers.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi reinstalled windows 7 home premium 64-bit (from recovery media, i got it when i bought my laptop) on my samsung NP300E5A laptop, on device manager it says that i have five missing drivers, driver are:
-3D Video Controller
-Ethernet Controller
-Network Controller
-PCI Simple Communication Controller
-SM Bus Controller
Oh and after i reinstall windows, when i reboot windows it loads and instead of welcome screen it shows me black screen and cursor, i can move cursor.
When I tried to connect it wirelessly to the internet (using the wireless USB adapter --> Zonet ZEW2546), it cannot detect any single network available, even though the router is just one floor below the PCBut, when I tried to plug the USB adapter to the other PC, which runs on Win XP, on the same floor as mine, the adapter works perfectly, and I could surf the web from the Win XPWhat do you think the problem is? Hardware or driver?Btw, I have specifically looked for the newest driver for the USB adapter (which also supports win 7 64-bit) and installed it to the new system, but still to of no avail.

It gets a limited activity logo over top of the connection. Today I tried plugging it rite into the router with a LAN cable and still, no dice. Came up with an IP address error.I'm guessing this is a router issue? When i run ipconfig in cmd prompt, it doesn't even have a default gateway?
View 7 Replies View RelatedIt was working fine, I didn't install or change nothing (mostly is used as MediaCenter). It was working perfectly without any change for months. Then I shutdown one day as always, and when I reboot the next day no network is present. The PC is an Acer Aspire X3900 desktop with an integrated intel NIC. This is what I have seen: In the Windows 7 network configuration panel there isn't any NIC present. IPCONFIG shows nothing, no adapter is listed (is not like when you unplug the network cable and the adapter is listed buy without the IPs; now the command shows nothing at all). But, and that is the weird thing, in device manager all seems fine. The Intel NIC is listed without any warning mark. Looking the properties, all looks ok. This is what I had already try: I reinstalled the NIC drivers. No changes. Reinstalled the chipset drivers. No changes. Uninstalled NIC drivers with an Intel utility. Then I rebooted and reinstalled the drivers when windows detected the new hw. No changes. Disabled the NIC adapter in device manager, reboot and re-enable. No changes. Uninstalled the NIC adapter in device manager. Reboot and re-install the drivers when windows detect the new hw.No changes. Disabled the NIC adapter in BIOS. Boot windows, shutdown, re-enable the adapter in BIOS, and reboot. einstall the drivers. No change. Recover the system from an old recover point, but no change.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy adapter is always gone from resuming from sleep. I know it was working before. Just changed my ram and bios settings from a fresh build. I am having this same issue with my newly built pc. The drive running Windows 7 is from a laptop where the mobo died. I am using it in AHCI mode because my case has a front hot swap caddy. I have a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 mobo and after installing and uninstalling drivers, software, changing settings, removing ram, changing power options to maximum power for pci card and wifi, turning off hibernate, restarted, rebooted, updated all drivers from Gigabyte, chipset drivers, etc. I have unchecked "allow Windows to turn off this device". Restarted and tested and I get the same issue. I have unchecked this box in all of my networking devices too including, 802.11n Wireless Lan Card #2 and Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter. Also, uninstalled and reinstalled these and updated drivers from my disc that came from Gigabyte as well as driver update from the Gigabyte website.
Nothing I do will turn on my wifi card after sleep. Windows will not see a network adapter. In device manager, there is no wireless card, even after showing hidden devices. Adding a device does not discover it. Installing the network card driver and software does nothing to detect it. Windows thinks there is no device connected. Everything works fine after restarting though. I have S3 enabled in bios as that is what I want. I have cpu fan that I don't want to hear with no option to turn them off. Otherwise, i'd be fine with S1. Is this just not a working feature? I've read that sleep is an ongoing issue with Windows, but my pc sleeps fine. I just want to be able to put my pc to S3 sleep and resume with a working wifi card. There must be a key setting I'm missing because I'm sure it was working with my last set of ram.
We recently switched providers from Megapath DSL to Verizon dsl. With Megapath all computers on our network could access the internet. With verizon all the xp computers connect to the internet with no problem but the windows 7 pc's only connect intermittently and sometimes not at all. They connect to the network just fine.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm having a connection issue with my new computer running Windows 7 Professional x64. When I first set it up, the wireless connection worked flawlessly, and then the next day the internet cut out and has not connected since (currently 2 days). Note that I can still connect to the Network, it is just the internet connection that is the issue. Other computers and devices can still connect to the network and internet, and as a temp fix I am using a wired connection to the same router.
My router is a Dynalink RTA1025W Rev2 using WPA2-Personal security, and my computer has a 802.11n Wireless LAN Card.

I have also attempted to connect to a neighbor's unsecured wireless network, however I was also unsuccessful with that.
I upgraded from Windows 7 Starter to Windows Home Premium and now I don't have any network adapters to get on the internet. I need to determine what drivers/adapters are needed to do so.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just performed a clean installation of Windows 7 Home Premium. The machine used to have Windows 8 but the user did not want that OS. Now that the OS is up and running I need to find out how to get the drivers needed on that machine. I can't even connect to the internet with it to download them from the laptop itself.

My MB : ASRock Extreme 3 Gen3
I have had this problem sporadically for the last month or so (since moving to this apartment). I am on the network but it says I have no internet acces. Other people on this network seem to connect fine (although they have had issues to) but I cant. I have 3 devices, all of which cant connect. On top of this, when i restart the computer or disconnect and reconnect adapter, I get internet access for about 20 seconds, enough time to load a google search or one webpage. however inevitably it always returns to the no internet access status. I have tried numerous fixs including reseting winsocks, using a new adapter, clearing browser history, changeing to static ip and changing back to automatically obtained one.

I uninstalled DriverUpdate, still doesn't work. I've tried clearing dns cashe at cmd, that didn't work.

When I try to connect to the internet, it just says "identifying" then says it is an "unidentified network". I've tried:
Resetting the modem
Checked all cables
Uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers
Disabled & enabled the drivers
It's set to automatically connect to DNS
Updating the ethernet with the latest from Microsoft
Ran ipconfig /release and renew
Tried another modem and new cables
Tried other houses with DSL & Cable internet
I installed a USB wireless device which worked when I tested it in wireless areas. But so far nothing has worked for the wired part. At one point before all this started, the internet worked intermittently and would work at other houses perfectly. So I assumed it was my modem or connection at my house. But then I plugged another PC into my modem and it worked instantly. So I know there is no physical problem with my connection, modem or cables.
I can connect to my router, and the icon shows "Internet Access" and I can access my shared folders. But I can't access the internet. I've got both IE and Chrome and both do not work.

I've been having connection problems for the last year, it's really annoying and so hard to understand whats happening. The internet connection is my dads, he lives in the garage beside me. He's with talk-talk fibre optic. The small modem type thing that connects is in the garage along with the main router that connects to the small thing, not sure what this is but it obviously connects to the fibre optic. His PC is connected to the router by wire, there is then a wire that runs from that router up through the garage and into the house through the wall in one of the bedrooms, this is were I have a router or two, (i've tried two routers with mixed results.) I'm connected via wireless through the second router in a room upstairs and get full signal when connected. I have a belkin 54g and a netgear dg834n. Now this morning after leaving my computer on all night, i woke up and it wasn't connected. Although this happens everyday when i turn my laptop on, i have to connect via wireless to the main router in the garage, then reconnect to the router up stairs to get the connection to come on. This time round it wont work at all. The netgear gives me - "Windows Networking TroubleShoot Error: The connection between your access point, router, or cable modem and the internet is broken."

Both have WLAN.
motherboard of desktop pc is P5k deluxe Wi-Fi edition.
I made on desktop pc an ad hoc connection with protection and security key.
Turned on wlan on laptop and it was detected. But as i try to connect, at the end i get unidentified network and can't connect to Internet.
But my first try was a success and i had Internet and a working home group.
Now i don't know how sometimes i get home group (on my laptop i can share music, videos etc thats on my desktop pc) but i still don't have Internet. Or in the worst chase both are gone.
Now i noticed when i go to Network and Sharing Center and then enter "Change advanced sharing settings" i see that a Public is the (current profile). How do i change that to be the Home?
what the network adapter driver is called for my z77 extreme6. I'm using a usb drive to transfer drivers from another computer. No. I don't have my disk that came with the motherboard.
