Wireless Network Adapter Missing After Resuming S3 From Sleep

Dec 15, 2011

My adapter is always gone from resuming from sleep. I know it was working before. Just changed my ram and bios settings from a fresh build. I am having this same issue with my newly built pc. The drive running Windows 7 is from a laptop where the mobo died. I am using it in AHCI mode because my case has a front hot swap caddy. I have a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 mobo and after installing and uninstalling drivers, software, changing settings, removing ram, changing power options to maximum power for pci card and wifi, turning off hibernate, restarted, rebooted, updated all drivers from Gigabyte, chipset drivers, etc. I have unchecked "allow Windows to turn off this device". Restarted and tested and I get the same issue. I have unchecked this box in all of my networking devices too including, 802.11n Wireless Lan Card #2 and Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter. Also, uninstalled and reinstalled these and updated drivers from my disc that came from Gigabyte as well as driver update from the Gigabyte website.

Nothing I do will turn on my wifi card after sleep. Windows will not see a network adapter. In device manager, there is no wireless card, even after showing hidden devices. Adding a device does not discover it. Installing the network card driver and software does nothing to detect it. Windows thinks there is no device connected. Everything works fine after restarting though. I have S3 enabled in bios as that is what I want. I have cpu fan that I don't want to hear with no option to turn them off. Otherwise, i'd be fine with S1. Is this just not a working feature? I've read that sleep is an ongoing issue with Windows, but my pc sleeps fine. I just want to be able to put my pc to S3 sleep and resume with a working wifi card. There must be a key setting I'm missing because I'm sure it was working with my last set of ram.

How To Turn On Wifi Adapter After Resuming From S3 Sleep

Computer Doesn't See Wireless Adapter After Sleep

Feb 3, 2012

I just got a new HP desktop, and a wireless router to put into the USB port. It worked perfectly after initial install with the drivers, but after coming back from sleep, it does not see the adapter, and I have to re install the drivers to get it to work. If I shut down the system, then turn it back on, the adapter works perfectly.

Windows 7 Sleep Damages Network Adapter?

Jul 21, 2012

I have an Acer Aspire 5755g running Windows 7 Home premium. It is a few months old and been working fine until the last few weeks where I have had an escalating series of problems. I have got used to closing the screen to send the machine into sleep mode. The new Windows7 sleep seems to work much better than Vista and the resume has always been very quick. Then problems suddenly started.Firstly I occasionally lost wireless connection but the machine found it again (automatically) after a while. Then, the connection dropped out permanently and diagnostics indicated a yellow flag against the Broadcom network adapter in Device manager. At first getting the machine to reset worked. Then I had to reinstall the drivers and that worked. Then disabling/reenabling the adapter was the only way. Then even that did not work.

At one point the computer froze whenever I touched the internet connection icon or the Device Manager item. Then it just froze completely whenever it came out of sleep and I had to do a hard close. At one point I could only restart in safe mode. When this happened I fiddled with all of the things I had tried before (reinstalling etc) but don't really know what worked. One time I just left it over night and in the morning it worked. The Acer help people suggest wiping the hard disk and using their recover utility to set the machine back to factory condition but this will wipe out all of my data and programs I have installed.

BSOD After Resuming From Sleep?

For months I had Windows 7 installed and running without any incidents; I was using Microsoft Security Essentials. The other day I installed Win8, decided I hated it, and reformatted/installed Windows 7. This time I tried Avast 7 Free and things looked good for a while until I woke up my PC from Sleep mode then it crashed.

AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter Lag

Aug 29, 2011

I have a AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter installed in my Asus Eee PC. Whenever I wake up the computer from hibernate or sleep, the wireless adapter takes a full minute or more before it will actually connect to a network. Once it is awake and connected, I have no issues, and I have no problems connecting to different networks. So it is working as intended most of the time. When starting up the computer from "off," it is usually fine as well, since the amount of time it takes to fully start up the computer is usually about enough time for the adapter to get going (though not always).I cannot ever "quickly" look something up on the computer, as I have to wait a few minutes in order to be connected to the internet. Has anyone had or heard of this problem? I checked and the driver is up to date.

Lite On USB Wireless Network Adapter

May 21, 2009

since build 7068 I've been facing this problem with this network adapter, will try to explain as good as I can.

Problem as following: Everytime I start the pc after one or two minutes I lost my internet connection and when I try to restart the pc it hangs when shutting pc is showed, forcing me to shut it down only whit the power button.

I have tried to install the vista x64 driver that I have for this network adapter but cannot installed since is onlyfor vista x64, neither in compatibilty mode. After a few research managed to installed it via safe mode. and by now is working good but device manager shows a warning icon and a Cannot start device code 10.

any knows is theres a win 7 update driver?? can I just keep ignoring the code 10 till this bug is fixed??

Wireless Network Adapter Will Not Work?

Aug 11, 2011

I just finished building a new PC and installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit today.I have an ASUS Wireless PCI Express Adapter (PCE-N13 802.11 b/g/n). DSL, with a Linksys rounter. Theres just a red X mark on the taskbar and it won't show any open connections =/. I have several wireless devices that work even outside the range which is about maybe 5 meters away from the router. Its pretty much impossible for me to run a wired connection to my PC and need to have a wireless one since theres many tables/couches/chairs inbetween the router and my new PC.

USB Wireless Adapter Does Not Detect Any Network

Dec 9, 2009

I just upgraded my home network with wireless N.

USB wireless adapter is dlink DWA-130C, driver installed properly and windows 7 32bit detected it correctly as DWA-130C on device manager but it could not find any network in my area.

When I do troubleshoot, windows tell me that driver may not installed properly.

FYI it happened with my older G USB adapter too, when I uninstall the driver to update, it installed normally but then it does not detect any network. I have to do system restore to make it work again.

Any idea?

Reliable USB Wireless Network Adapter For 32 Bit

Nov 28, 2009

Can anyone recommend a reliable USB wireless network adapter for a PC running 32-bit Windows 7 Professional?

I am hoping to find one for a 802.11b/g network where the drivers are not flaky and the unit does not randomly disconnect.

The WUSB600N from Cisco/LinkSys does not seem to fit into this category.

The DVD drive is found in the BIOS and I can see it's being loaded during boot-up. I can use the drive as a bootable drive. The drive is only discovered by Windows when I enter and then resume from sleep mode or hibernation and works fine.

BSOD Resuming From Suspend/Sleep?

May 16, 2012

I just built a new computer and had it running stable for several days with all hardware except the graphics card and a new monitor. After plugging the new video card, I believe the system remained stable, but am not 100% confident since it only survived overnight. After plugging the new monitor (HP z2740w) and connecting via USB crashes started occurring when resuming from sleep.

I tried uninstalling the graphics drivers and the problem seems to have stopped for now, so I'm reinstalling to see if anything changes.

Windows 7 Pro 64 OEM (System Builder) Everything in the machine is brand new except the hard drives. Installation age is a few days.

I ordered a usb cable for it, and a DVI cable and then I went out of town for two weeks and completely unplugged all electronics including my computer. When I got back I installed the new cables, plugged everything back in, and the computer wouldn't start. The light on the PSU was flashing. I re-seated the PSU and then it came on just fine. Now every time my computer tries to resume from sleep I get a BSOD with the error "Bad_Pool_Caller".I have included the files requested in the instructions.

Laptop Is Delayed In Resuming From Sleep?

Sep 16, 2012

About 75% of the time, when I lift the lid to resume my laptop from sleep, the laptop will not resume immediately. The screen will remain black, the wifi light stays disabled, and while I can hear the fan, nothing else really happens.Usually after anywhere from 3 to 20 seconds, though, the laptop will eventually wake up, and I believe it tends to be when the hard drive actually starts spinning -- the hard drive light will blink and I'll hear the faint 'click' of the hard diskThe resume used to be more or less instant. I've reformatted since I first noticed this problem, yet I still have it, which makes me think it might be a hardware issue

Missing Network Adapter, But Device Manager OK?

May 18, 2011

It was working fine, I didn't install or change nothing (mostly is used as MediaCenter). It was working perfectly without any change for months. Then I shutdown one day as always, and when I reboot the next day no network is present. The PC is an Acer Aspire X3900 desktop with an integrated intel NIC. This is what I have seen: In the Windows 7 network configuration panel there isn't any NIC present. IPCONFIG shows nothing, no adapter is listed (is not like when you unplug the network cable and the adapter is listed buy without the IPs; now the command shows nothing at all). But, and that is the weird thing, in device manager all seems fine. The Intel NIC is listed without any warning mark. Looking the properties, all looks ok. This is what I had already try: I reinstalled the NIC drivers. No changes. Reinstalled the chipset drivers. No changes. Uninstalled NIC drivers with an Intel utility. Then I rebooted and reinstalled the drivers when windows detected the new hw. No changes. Disabled the NIC adapter in device manager, reboot and re-enable. No changes. Uninstalled the NIC adapter in device manager. Reboot and re-install the drivers when windows detect the new hw.No changes. Disabled the NIC adapter in BIOS. Boot windows, shutdown, re-enable the adapter in BIOS, and reboot. einstall the drivers. No change. Recover the system from an old recover point, but no change.

Belkin Wireless USB Network Adapter Failing

Unfortunately, it does not work. at first, it was just dodgy, connecting with only a small connection. It started getting better, but it would always cut out after a while.

A friend of mine tried to fix it, using lots of methods including the xlink kai method and others including downloading the drivers and another one which I can't remember. None have worked.

Has anyone got a really easy, fool-proof, easy understandable way to make this work please?

Wireless Network Adapter Says It's Working Properly But It's Not?

Oct 2, 2010

Last night my wireless adapter (Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter) stopped working. In the properties it says it is working properly, however,it will not find a single wireless network to connect to, only the big red X over the icon in the system tray. My wife's laptop which is 5 feet from mine, finds our network as well as several of our neighbors. I upgraded to Windows 7 last month, so this morning I tried updating drivers, installed these but still the big red X. My laptop will work with the ethernet cable plugged in, just not wireless.I am stumped because it says it is working properly in the properties menu and not returning any errors during troubleshooting. I know its not my router, as my xbox, ipod touch, android phone, and wife's laptop can connect and work fine. Since she and I have the same laptop, I made sure that our properties settings were the same this morning as well, and they match up.

When I troubleshoot I get the message, "There might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection Adapter", to which Windows cannot fix. I get this same error message, respectively, for both wired and wireless connections. After troubleshooting without success, I decided to try and do system update.I am only connected with "Limited Access".What's even weirder is when I open a cmd window and enter ipconfig /all.
