Missing Windows 7 Drivers Network Adapter - Error651, Can't Connect To Intern
May 4, 2012
I just did a new build, Intel i5 2500K, ASRock mobo, 16 g ram, my old PNY Quadro NVS 440 video card for my 4 monitors, Crucial M4 64 g SSD, turned it on, works from git go, but I can't connect to the internet. Finally talked with MS support somewhere and they finally said that my network adapter was missing and said I had to buy a drivers and utility disk for my computer. I'm on ATT Uverse and 2 other computers in the house can connect just fine. It's not Uverse or the connection, it's something wrong with my W7 OS or my stupidity. Did I install the software OS incorrectly? Why is there something missing from my OS or computer? How can Windows 7 HP 64 bit not come with a network adapter or driver?

Windows 7 won't connect to the internet? The ethernet cable is plugged in and it works, but when I am on Windows 7 it cannot detect that I am connected to the internet. I have tried unplugging and replugging and restarting but it still doesn't work. When I troubleshoot, it says: Install a driver for your network adapter.

It was working fine, I didn't install or change nothing (mostly is used as MediaCenter). It was working perfectly without any change for months. Then I shutdown one day as always, and when I reboot the next day no network is present. The PC is an Acer Aspire X3900 desktop with an integrated intel NIC. This is what I have seen: In the Windows 7 network configuration panel there isn't any NIC present. IPCONFIG shows nothing, no adapter is listed (is not like when you unplug the network cable and the adapter is listed buy without the IPs; now the command shows nothing at all). But, and that is the weird thing, in device manager all seems fine. The Intel NIC is listed without any warning mark. Looking the properties, all looks ok. This is what I had already try: I reinstalled the NIC drivers. No changes. Reinstalled the chipset drivers. No changes. Uninstalled NIC drivers with an Intel utility. Then I rebooted and reinstalled the drivers when windows detected the new hw. No changes. Disabled the NIC adapter in device manager, reboot and re-enable. No changes. Uninstalled the NIC adapter in device manager. Reboot and re-install the drivers when windows detect the new hw.No changes. Disabled the NIC adapter in BIOS. Boot windows, shutdown, re-enable the adapter in BIOS, and reboot. einstall the drivers. No change. Recover the system from an old recover point, but no change.

I had to download a iso file from [URL] as he wasn't give a installation disc. The install went fine except when it was finished there was no internet connection available. I tried to troubleshoot but couldn't find any network drivers.

My adapter is always gone from resuming from sleep. I know it was working before. Just changed my ram and bios settings from a fresh build. I am having this same issue with my newly built pc. The drive running Windows 7 is from a laptop where the mobo died. I am using it in AHCI mode because my case has a front hot swap caddy. I have a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 mobo and after installing and uninstalling drivers, software, changing settings, removing ram, changing power options to maximum power for pci card and wifi, turning off hibernate, restarted, rebooted, updated all drivers from Gigabyte, chipset drivers, etc. I have unchecked "allow Windows to turn off this device". Restarted and tested and I get the same issue. I have unchecked this box in all of my networking devices too including, 802.11n Wireless Lan Card #2 and Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter. Also, uninstalled and reinstalled these and updated drivers from my disc that came from Gigabyte as well as driver update from the Gigabyte website.
Nothing I do will turn on my wifi card after sleep. Windows will not see a network adapter. In device manager, there is no wireless card, even after showing hidden devices. Adding a device does not discover it. Installing the network card driver and software does nothing to detect it. Windows thinks there is no device connected. Everything works fine after restarting though. I have S3 enabled in bios as that is what I want. I have cpu fan that I don't want to hear with no option to turn them off. Otherwise, i'd be fine with S1. Is this just not a working feature? I've read that sleep is an ongoing issue with Windows, but my pc sleeps fine. I just want to be able to put my pc to S3 sleep and resume with a working wifi card. There must be a key setting I'm missing because I'm sure it was working with my last set of ram.

I just performed a clean installation of Windows 7 Home Premium. The machine used to have Windows 8 but the user did not want that OS. Now that the OS is up and running I need to find out how to get the drivers needed on that machine. I can't even connect to the internet with it to download them from the laptop itself.

The only thing I did install was driverupdate, cause I was getting the blue screen only when I was connected to the wireless network at school and the code that came up on the blue screen said something wrong with the driver.I have tried s restore to te previous day, that didn't work! I uninstalled DriverUpdate, still doesn't work. I've tried clearing dns cashe at cmd, that didn't work.

I tried to update avg on hubs laptop so the kids can play and now after I did it we can't get online period!! on the tool bar were the connection pic is says limited connection? So I did all of the steps to fix ect and it finally came up to.
- There might be a problem w/the drivers for the wireless connection2 adapter
- There might be a problem w/the drivers for the local area connection adapter
MY actual modem is good as we have 3 running right now - should I go to restore point before avg in the critical update moments before I realizes this problem?

I installed Windows 7 last weekend on a clean HD. I then installed my MB drivers including my marvel(?) Lan drivers.
I could not connect to the internet. I kept getting a message about Windows 7 could not find the network adapter or the drivers for it. I can't remember which. But when I went to reinstall the LAN drivers I got a message about whether I wanted to repair or uninstall the drivers. So I figured they must have been installed, so clicked on repair. Still Windows 7 can't find the network adapter.
What could be wrong? I may try and play some more with Windows 7 this weekend.
I'm using a wired connection from my desktop PC to the cable modem.
Abit IP-35E mobo.

I did a windows 7 clean install on my HP Mini 210 4051 nr as part of creating a dual boot with Ubuntu. In Linux the internet works fine, but in Windows 7 it does not. In the device manager I see yellow flags over the ethernet and network controllers. Code 28 (My model does have an ethernet port).
Because the machine cannot connect, I downloaded all the related drivers (everything from the network tab) from the HP website for my model with another computer and then put them all in a folder on the Mini's desktop via USB. When I try to install the drivers through the device manager, and direct it to that folder, it says it finds nothing usable.
Here are the IDs
Ethernet Controller
PCIVEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_338D103C&REV_05
Network Controller
PCIVEN_1814&DEV_5390&SUBSYS_163610C&REV_00

Can anyone advise how I would go about fixing this. I am trying to connect to a network (I have a dell running on windows 7) and it keeps telling me that windows is unable to connect to the network-this is before I can even enter the security key. I know it is not a problem with the wireless because other people are able to connect to it fine.

I disabled my network adapter then restarted and now the adapter is no longer showing up in my network connections. How in the world do I get it back? I have looked at other options (like under the registry which was suggested on a couple of places). I have never seen this happen before. I even reinstalled my drivers and still nothing. How do I enable it again?

I have a linksys usb600n (v2) using the Windows 7 driver from linksys. It installs and is displayed correctly in Device Manger - BUT it doesn't appear in the Network and Sharing Center as an adapter. This same device and driver were previously working just fine in this system - but I rebuilt the OS (clean install) after testing a number of security products out.
The initial install went fine - no problems that I remember - just plug in the adapter and install the drivers obtained from Linksys (Ver 3.00.01.0). I tried the same thing on the re-build and it looks fine until I go into the Network Center and can't set up wireless networking since the adapter does not appear.
SIW shows TWO (2) linksys USB adapters under Hardware/Network Adapters, but does not show the network adapters in the Network Information section.
Any ideas?

Installed Windows 7 on two home-network computers. Everything appeared to be good, including networking, but I could not access printers (linked through each computer) with the opposite computer. Windows update offered an update for the Broadcom 802.11n network adapter, but when I installed the update I completely lost the network.
I had to revert to the old driver in order to reastablish the network. But the printers still are not recognized. The network adapter on the secondary computer is a Linksys WMP300N. I did try turning the router off for ten seconds with the updated driver but that had no effect.
Anyone had this problem?

I have a laptop (HP Compaq cq62) with Windows 7 64 bit and I have a strange problem with my wireless adapter. When I close the lid the laptop goes into sleep mode. When I open the lid and log in on my laptop, the wireless adapter can not find any routers. I have to go to my network settings window, disable my wireless adapter, enable the wireless adapter and then it is working.

I just got a new computer with Windows 7. My old one was using XP and I had a Linksys USB adapter for it, but it's not working on 7, and I guess it probably shouldn't. So I'll need a new one to connect to my router wirelessly, right?

I have 2 ISPs and 1 computer(Windows7). During the day I switch between the two ISPs periodically by plugging and unplugging the cat5e cables (I never use the two ISPs at the same time). I want to simplify this process and save the RJ45 jack on my laptop from wearing out by the repeated plugging and unplugging of the cat5e cables. Could I purchase the MYWA-07 splitter and use it as an extension of the laptop jack and would it be okay to plug both ISPs in at the same time? Also, if this will work, will I be able to choose between the two ISPs by clicking on the internet access icon in the lower right hand corner of my desktop? Is there a chance that I could damage something by trying this?

I have seached everywhere trying to find instructions on how to connect to two WLANs with one wireless network adapter but I haven't been able to find anything.Apparently this is possible using the Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter - but how?The reason is that I have two WLANs - one is a router which connects network attached storage, the other is a router connecting the internet.Internet WLAN Gateway = 192.168.1.1NAS WLAN Gateway = 192.168.0.254An explanation of how I could maintain my connection to the internet WLAN while still being able to access data on the NAS through the NAS WLAN would be excellent.
