Microphone Does Not Work While Headset Are Working
Feb 13, 2012
I recently buy a headset with microphone with the Pink/Green jacks The earset part of them works fine, but the mic part doesn't at all.The system doesn't even pick up that a mic is plugged in. I have tried both the front and back jacks of my PC with the same issues. Under the Recording Tab in Sound it reads, NO audio devices are instaled, and I have the Show disabled devices checked. My biggest issue is I use gtalk and can't talk on it with this issue.
I followed this step>>>>
1. Right click on the volume icon in the system tray and then click "Recording devices".
2. Right click on the blank place in the popped up window and then select "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".
3. Right click on Microphone and then click "Enable".
4. Highlight the microphone and then choose "Set as Default Device".
5. Click Apply.
6. Select Microphone and click on Properties.
7. Click on Levels tab. The default Microphone Boost is set to 0,increase it.but after Right click on the blank place in the popped up window and then select "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".I do not find any Microphone.
I bought a Steelseries Siberia V2 headset (non usb model), and the headphones work fine, but the mic doesn't seem to respond to any applications at all.I have updated my audio drivers and tried different audio jacks on my PC but nothing will solve this problem.I have gone into recording devices in Windows and ticked "listen to this device" and I can hear myself speaking through the headset, but when I try and use it on Skype or Steam chat it is non responsive. The volume bar next to the microphone in recording devices doesn't go up when I speak even though I can hear myself speaking.
I just bought the Turtle Beach Z2 gaming headset and I've gone through numerous different processes of trying to get the microphone to actually work and can't seem to get it. The sound out of the headphones work fine but my computer isn't recognizing the sounds from the headset. I have IDT audio on my inspiron 15r if that helps at all. Lastly, the computer has a built in audio input which it recognizes fine.
yesterday I have bought myself a new headset which is well known for its fairly low price combined with a good quality device. I'm talking about the Creative Fatal1ty headset. The reason I bought this headset was because my laptop's built-in mic is from a very crappy quality (the quality of the recorded audio is very poor). So now I have this headset there is one big problem, whenever I record sound or speak through Skype with my family/friends the headset is plugged in (and yes, I have plugged it in the correct headphone jack and microphone jack) into my laptop. But the sound that is being recorded is still being recorded by the built-in microphone and not by the microphone that is attached to my headset. How do I disable the built-in mic?
We have this headset. In the sound menu, it says not connected, while I did put it in the computer? (And I didn't put them the wrong way around, and have checked all my drivers.)
I have a Dell Vostro 1500, running 32-bit Windows 7. It came with Vista, but I upgraded to Windows 7 a couple months ago, which I think is causing the issues I'm experiencing. According to whoever I'm speaking with, the sound for the microphone built in to my webcam fades in and out and gets really loud randomly. In an attempt to solve this, I bought an external microphone which also does not work. The sound driver is the SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC, version 6.10.0.5614. When I tried to update it through Windows 7's update driver software it says I have the best version for my system, but I still suspect that this could be what is causing the problem.
my computer does not recognize when i plug a microphone in. I am using a pair of headphones with a microphone attached to it. I have tried 2 different sets so i know the actual mic works. Under control panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Manage Audio Devices, Recording tab, it says "no audio devices are installed" I have tried using 2 different ports and it still doesnt work.I recently installed to windows 7 from vista, could it be that some sort of audio driver didnt get installed or xfered over correctly? How would i figure this out? My microphone worked just fine when i had windows vista installed. NOTE that my sound works fine and the audio comes through my headset just fine, but i cant get the microphone to work.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L450D-13P and I cannot get my built in microphone to work. I know next to nothing about computers so I've been googling and messing around with settings to try and get it to work, I've even uninstalled and re-installed the sound and webcam drivers, but nothing is going on. Basically, I'm trying to use Skype and I can see and hear them, they can see me, they just cannot hear me. I've tried the tests and stuff on the computer seperate from Skype, but it's still not working. Also, I don't know if it helps at all but the microphone is Realtek HD Audio?
I HAVE HCLME LAPTOP WITH WINDOW 7 BUILTIN MICROPHONE SHOWS NOT PLUGGED INMY SPEAKERS RUNS PERFECTLY ASWELL AS MY WEBCAM.MY AUDIO DRIVER REALTECH AUDIO. I GONE CONTROL PANEL THEN IN SOUND GONE TO RECODING TAB BUT THERE MICROPHONE is GREY DOES NOT HIGHLIGHT ANYTHING ONE RED ARROW SHOW NOT PLUGGED IN it is enable also i have installed lastest sound drivers also
I have a Windows 7 64bit Dell Studio 1535. Recently, the microphone does not work. I'm not sure what to do since I can't "see" the device in device manager and I've downloaded a large number of drivers (anything audio related) but that does not seem to have fixed the issue. All I know is that I have an "array" microphone but besides that, not so much. Am I missing drivers? Are the webcam and mic drivers the same?
I just updated to a z77 i5 3.4 and everything has installed fine except for my creative arena headset usb. It was working just fine on my other machine earlier today but now that I have a new mobo and cpu it will not install the drivers. My SSD and HDD were not reformated and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers a few times with no change. I just get 3 rapid beeps when I plug the USB in.
I have a thinkpad x100e netbook and a Conexant CX20582 SmartAudio HD sound card.i just reinstalled windows 7 and it seems the microphone has not worked since i did that. I have adjusted, updated, disabled and enabled the drivers, but i still do not get any sound when playing back recordings or skype test calls i make. the system lets me make the recording, and skype seems to detect the microphone, but nothing plays back.the speakers work without problem.when i try to set up the microphone, the prompt does not identify it. i have tried to connect a microphone as well, but either way, i would like to mostly rely on the built-in mic anyway.also, the microphone does not show up on the volume mixer.
When i use my SKYPE account to talk with someone they can totally hear me but the problem is I can't hear them. my audio device is REALTEK audio device
i tried a lot of changes in my laptop but it doesn't work at all.
I have an Acer Aspire 5517 that the microphone does not work with Skype and probably other programs, I have tried to use an external microphone which worked for a time but no longer.
i have headset with microphone, speakers work but microphone doesnt, realtek doesnt detect microphone, dunno whats the problem, searched everywhere on the web and still no answer all drivers are updated and microphone worked earlier. pic also url...
I have got Fatal1ty Gaming Headset ( No USB) and my mic is not working properly. When I plug it into my headset, it doesn't work, and it is on. But when I put it directly into the computer, it works fine!!! Is it any drivers or what? I bought a new computer today but the mic didn't work on my previous computer either.
I have a microphone in my laptop, but I can't find the software for it since I installed windows7, so it doesn't work. What should I do? How can I understand what is good and what will work properly?
So recently last day or so something changed and now i have to disable driver signature enforcement at every start up in order for my headset to work. It was working fine before. I unplugged it when useing it on another computer. then plugged it back into this one and it tells me the driver is not valid. i have removed said software and disconnected headset and reinstalled and no change.
Well as I said in the title after a windows 7 update my logitec headset stopped working and not just on win 7 it isnt working at all I tried it on my old pc (windows xp) and no sound. Could it realy be that some windows 7 update did something to my headset?
I just recently upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate and I found that I was having multiple problems with the sound. I have solved the problem with my speakers/headphones after upgrading drivers (et al.), but my microphone is not being recognized. When I go to the Speaker Icon in the system tray and right-click to bring up the dialog then go to recording devices, what I get is this: No audio devices are installed. The playback dialog shows the correct information: High definition audio device. Default device.
