When I use the same headset/mic on a computer running Win XP (sp3), everything works.
FYI, I purchased a second identical headset/mic, but I've gotten the same results with Win 7.
I have a microphone in my laptop, but I can't find the software for it since I installed windows7, so it doesn't work. What should I do? How can I understand what is good and what will work properly?

I have solved the problem with my speakers/headphones after upgrading drivers (et al.), but my microphone is not being recognized. When I go to the Speaker Icon in the system tray and right-click to bring up the dialog then go to recording devices, what I get is this: No audio devices are installed. The playback dialog shows the correct information: High definition audio device. Default device.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to setup stereo mixer which is available and turned on, however generally when doing this the microphone is muted in speakers and you need to unmute that (I've done this for a lot of computers), but unfortunately for the current computer no slider exists for the microphone. I've tried registry fixes and using drivers straight off RealTek's site (instead of HP's, it's a HP p6110f) but nothing works.

Everything seems to be running smoothly except I can get no sound from the internal laptop speakers. When I plug in external speakers in via the jacks on the front, sound comes through fine, but as soon as I unplug them there is nothing. Headphones also work like this too. Under sounds in device manager, it simply says 'High Definition Audio Device', and I'm not sure if I should be downloading some other drivers?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought these new headphones Ozone Attack, and the sound works great on them, but the microphone doesn't work in any program. Doesn't work in Skype, TS3, and it doesn't even pick it up in Recording Devices. It's the kind of headset where it's not a USB; it's got a plug for the mic and another for the headphones. They're both plugged in firmly, and I've updated my audio thing which is IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. My laptop is a HP Pavilion g6-1241sa Notebook PC. I've also gone into Recording Devices and checked for any disabled mics, but the one in my headset isn't there. And even though my headset is set as the Default Communication Device, the mic doesn't get picked up under Recording Devices. Push to Talk is also not on. The headset is also shown only under Playback Devices.

I have tried 2 different sets so i know the actual mic works. Under control panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Manage Audio Devices, Recording tab, it says "no audio devices are installed" I have tried using 2 different ports and it still doesnt work.I recently installed to windows 7 from vista, could it be that some sort of audio driver didnt get installed or xfered over correctly? How would i figure this out? My microphone worked just fine when i had windows vista installed. NOTE that my sound works fine and the audio comes through my headset just fine, but i cant get the microphone to work.

I know next to nothing about computers so I've been googling and messing around with settings to try and get it to work, I've even uninstalled and re-installed the sound and webcam drivers, but nothing is going on. Basically, I'm trying to use Skype and I can see and hear them, they can see me, they just cannot hear me. I've tried the tests and stuff on the computer seperate from Skype, but it's still not working. Also, I don't know if it helps at all but the microphone is Realtek HD Audio?

I'm not sure what to do since I can't "see" the device in device manager and I've downloaded a large number of drivers (anything audio related) but that does not seem to have fixed the issue. All I know is that I have an "array" microphone but besides that, not so much. Am I missing drivers? Are the webcam and mic drivers the same?

I have adjusted, updated, disabled and enabled the drivers, but i still do not get any sound when playing back recordings or skype test calls i make. the system lets me make the recording, and skype seems to detect the microphone, but nothing plays back.the speakers work without problem.when i try to set up the microphone, the prompt does not identify it. i have tried to connect a microphone as well, but either way, i would like to mostly rely on the built-in mic anyway.also, the microphone does not show up on the volume mixer.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently buy a headset with microphone with the Pink/Green jacks The earset part of them works fine, but the mic part doesn't at all.The system doesn't even pick up that a mic is plugged in. I have tried both the front and back jacks of my PC with the same issues. Under the Recording Tab in Sound it reads, NO audio devices are instaled, and I have the Show disabled devices checked. My biggest issue is I use gtalk and can't talk on it with this issue.
I followed this step>>>>
1. Right click on the volume icon in the system tray and then click "Recording devices".
2. Right click on the blank place in the popped up window and then select "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".
3. Right click on Microphone and then click "Enable".
4. Highlight the microphone and then choose "Set as Default Device".
5. Click Apply.
6. Select Microphone and click on Properties.
7. Click on Levels tab. The default Microphone Boost is set to 0,increase it.but after Right click on the blank place in the popped up window and then select "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".I do not find any Microphone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a USB Microphone, a Samson C01U. I also have a regular microphone, which I plug into the audio jack. The microphone that's plugged into the audio jack shows up correctly in the levels tab of my speaker's properties. I can mute/unmute it, and adjust the volume that I hear it in my speakers. My USB Microphone however, does not. Is there anyway I could get it to work that way and hear it in my speakers? Because I know that if I just use "listen to this device", there will be severe audio delay between when I speak and when I hear it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got this problem with my intex USB Audio Speakers where whenever I plug them in my Windows 7 powered laptop, they just don't work. The default audio device in Control Panel/Sounds changes automatically from my onboard High Definition Audio Device to USB Audio Device (which I think it's normal). Also, there is no problem shown in Device Manager and when I hover my mouse on the Sound icon near the clock (system tray or notification area) it shows that the USB Audio Device are the default. I contacted Intex and they first told me that it might be a laptop problem, but then I installed Windows XP - the sound works great. I installed Ubuntu - the speakers are working also. It seems like it's a problem in Windows 7. I sent them another message telling them this, but they have never contacted me again.
