Computer Doesn't Find Microphone - Headset Not Staying Connected
Jan 30, 2012
We have this headset. In the sound menu, it says not connected, while I did put it in the computer? (And I didn't put them the wrong way around, and have checked all my drivers.)
I have a microphone in my laptop, but I can't find the software for it since I installed windows7, so it doesn't work. What should I do? How can I understand what is good and what will work properly?
2tb usb hdd not staying connected ok ill hook it up to my pc it will load and in about every 30 min. it resets and i was wanting to know if there was a way to get it to just stay connected after connecting it
Is there a way to stay connected to a computer via remote desktop while it reboots, or at least automatically reconnect? I ask because I need to take some screen captures of the BIOS settings which I can only get into on bootup. I can't use my screen capture application while in the BIOS, or at any point during bootup, but I can from another computer that's remotely connected to it - that is, if it could BE connected while at this stage in the bootup.

I figure I'll give this posting a shot tonight and try to stay connected long enough to do so! For the past month or so, I've been experiencing some issues where my internet browsing will either not work at all, work intermittently, work fine then slow down and stop, or stop working after "waking my computer up from a short nap" - say when I go grab a snack or something.I've tried to take as many screen shots as possible figuring they may come in handy when I eventually got around to trouble shooting the issue. It came up rather suddenly which makes me wonder what happened. The laptop still seems to work so well at other locations but not this one.
I bought a Steelseries Siberia V2 headset (non usb model), and the headphones work fine, but the mic doesn't seem to respond to any applications at all.I have updated my audio drivers and tried different audio jacks on my PC but nothing will solve this problem.I have gone into recording devices in Windows and ticked "listen to this device" and I can hear myself speaking through the headset, but when I try and use it on Skype or Steam chat it is non responsive. The volume bar next to the microphone in recording devices doesn't go up when I speak even though I can hear myself speaking.
I just bought the Turtle Beach Z2 gaming headset and I've gone through numerous different processes of trying to get the microphone to actually work and can't seem to get it. The sound out of the headphones work fine but my computer isn't recognizing the sounds from the headset. I have IDT audio on my inspiron 15r if that helps at all. Lastly, the computer has a built in audio input which it recognizes fine.
I recently buy a headset with microphone with the Pink/Green jacks The earset part of them works fine, but the mic part doesn't at all.The system doesn't even pick up that a mic is plugged in. I have tried both the front and back jacks of my PC with the same issues. Under the Recording Tab in Sound it reads, NO audio devices are instaled, and I have the Show disabled devices checked. My biggest issue is I use gtalk and can't talk on it with this issue.
I followed this step>>>>
1. Right click on the volume icon in the system tray and then click "Recording devices".
2. Right click on the blank place in the popped up window and then select "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".
3. Right click on Microphone and then click "Enable".
4. Highlight the microphone and then choose "Set as Default Device".
5. Click Apply.
6. Select Microphone and click on Properties.
7. Click on Levels tab. The default Microphone Boost is set to 0,increase it.but after Right click on the blank place in the popped up window and then select "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".I do not find any Microphone.
yesterday I have bought myself a new headset which is well known for its fairly low price combined with a good quality device. I'm talking about the Creative Fatal1ty headset. The reason I bought this headset was because my laptop's built-in mic is from a very crappy quality (the quality of the recorded audio is very poor). So now I have this headset there is one big problem, whenever I record sound or speak through Skype with my family/friends the headset is plugged in (and yes, I have plugged it in the correct headphone jack and microphone jack) into my laptop. But the sound that is being recorded is still being recorded by the built-in microphone and not by the microphone that is attached to my headset. How do I disable the built-in mic?
When i plugin my USB headset I hear some audio sources but not all, Stereo Mix doesn't seem to appear for the headset. If i reboot the machine then everything is fine.. how I can avoid having to reboot?
I use win 7 home premiun and everytime my computer wakes up from sleep my the taskbar stays stuck for 1-2 minutes. I have downloaded a a program called process explorer to see what is running in windows explorer. I used a option in process explorer called kill the process on the programs that are running but it doesn't do anything.
I bought these new headphones Ozone Attack, and the sound works great on them, but the microphone doesn't work in any program. Doesn't work in Skype, TS3, and it doesn't even pick it up in Recording Devices. It's the kind of headset where it's not a USB; it's got a plug for the mic and another for the headphones. They're both plugged in firmly, and I've updated my audio thing which is IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. My laptop is a HP Pavilion g6-1241sa Notebook PC. I've also gone into Recording Devices and checked for any disabled mics, but the one in my headset isn't there. And even though my headset is set as the Default Communication Device, the mic doesn't get picked up under Recording Devices. Push to Talk is also not on. The headset is also shown only under Playback Devices.
i have headset with microphone, speakers work but microphone doesnt, realtek doesnt detect microphone, dunno whats the problem, searched everywhere on the web and still no answer all drivers are updated and microphone worked earlier. pic also url...
I bought a new headset. I made it discoverable, Windows found it, but could not find the drivers. I have scoured the internet with no avail. I don't know the company that makes it because its a cheap one, it DOES work with my android so I think it's just a Windows problem. Here is my info:OS: Windows 7 HP 64bitLaptop: HP Pavilion DV7-6C50CABluetooth radio: Intel Centrino wireless bluetooth 3.0 driver version 1.0.90.20620
It's a Toshiba Laptop with Windows 7 Installed. (Original Copy). However, just about 2 day's back, I could not use my Microphone Inbuilt as it was not working. Fyi, the Speakers are working perfectly. Have checked the Laptop and found the Drivers all installed, but could not find any error. We have been using this Laptop for mostly skype calls and used extensively. It would be almost 3 months now. But just a couple of days back that the Mic did not start functioning.
After I reinstalled windows 7 on my laptop and the touch pad didnt work properly and microphone doesnt work!! I found and downloaded the driver for the touch pad but i cant find one to fix the microphone!
My laptop is connected to Wi-Fi but the internet doesn't seem to work. It shows "No Internet Access". the same network is working fine on other systems.
Using my headset when I talk on Skype/Ventrillo/Mumble, when I transmit, everyone can hear my computers audio. This isn't the mic picking up bleed from the headphones, they can actually hear everything I hear very clearly, whether its in game sounds or music. I have almost narrowed this down to either my Motherboard, or Windows 7.
Hardware info: Motherboard : ASUS M4A79XTD EVO OS - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Soundcard - Creative Xi-Fi Extreme Headset : Razor Carcharias
What I have tried: - Uninstalled all Creative software, removed card from computer and activated on board sound instead. - Activated both sound cards, plugged in the headphones into the X-Fi card, and the Mic into the on board. - Made sure I have the latest drivers installed for both Xi-Fi and on board (creative driver is pretty ancient) - Used a completely separate microphone not attached to the headset. - Made sure all recording devices are switched off except the Mic. - Tried every kind of input and output volume controls, adjusting these does not seem to make a difference. - Made sure Stereo Mix is disabled (this option was only available when using the on board audio, not seeing this option for the Xi-Fi card) - Listen to device disabled.
I've also tried 2 other headsets and issue still persists. Is there something I can do within Windows 7 to disable this from happening?
I just updated to a z77 i5 3.4 and everything has installed fine except for my creative arena headset usb. It was working just fine on my other machine earlier today but now that I have a new mobo and cpu it will not install the drivers. My SSD and HDD were not reformated and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers a few times with no change. I just get 3 rapid beeps when I plug the USB in.
playing around with my new computer, i was trying to record a sound playing on Internet with the microphone using the sound recorder. after about 10 seconds, the whole system froze - i couldn't even move the mouse cursor and had to unplug the computer and re-boot. what's the problem and is there an easy fix? below is a screen shot of my system specs, if that's any help.
