Headset Only Audible For Incoming SKYPE Does Not Work For Speaking?

Jan 26, 2013So this problem started yesterday afternoon. I didn't download anything, but suddenly I was unable to browse the web. I tried all the web browsers I have but no websites would load. But skype and teamspeak still work.

Feb 13, 2012I recently buy a headset with microphone with the Pink/Green jacks The earset part of them works fine, but the mic part doesn't at all.The system doesn't even pick up that a mic is plugged in. I have tried both the front and back jacks of my PC with the same issues. Under the Recording Tab in Sound it reads, NO audio devices are instaled, and I have the Show disabled devices checked. My biggest issue is I use gtalk and can't talk on it with this issue.
I followed this step>>>>
1. Right click on the volume icon in the system tray and then click "Recording devices".
2. Right click on the blank place in the popped up window and then select "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".
3. Right click on Microphone and then click "Enable".
4. Highlight the microphone and then choose "Set as Default Device".
5. Click Apply.
6. Select Microphone and click on Properties.
7. Click on Levels tab. The default Microphone Boost is set to 0,increase it.but after Right click on the blank place in the popped up window and then select "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".I do not find any Microphone.

Nov 24, 2012When I use my headset/mic for a teleconference, I can hear what others are saying in the call, but they cannot hear me. (I'm using Win 7/64-bit.)
When I use the same headset/mic on a computer running Win XP (sp3), everything works.
FYI, I purchased a second identical headset/mic, but I've gotten the same results with Win 7.

May 18, 2012I just updated to a z77 i5 3.4 and everything has installed fine except for my creative arena headset usb. It was working just fine on my other machine earlier today but now that I have a new mobo and cpu it will not install the drivers. My SSD and HDD were not reformated and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers a few times with no change. I just get 3 rapid beeps when I plug the USB in.

Nov 16, 2011Last night my computer was producing sound just fine. This morning it stopped! It's not a speaker issue as they work fine with another computer. No changes were made to the system so I don't know why this would happen all of a sudden. I uninstalled all of the drivers. When the computer somes back on they are re-installed. I also downloaded and intalled the Realtek driver R266. I had had an older version of this driver. The speakers are turned up and are set for maximum sound in the volume mixer. If I play something it is barely audible if my ear is right next to the speaker. I checked the device manger and did have two devices so I disabled one. Everything looks like the sound should be blaring but I get only the faintest sound.

Mar 4, 2012The problem is that other people can hear what's coming through my headphones (i.e. music, game sounds, their own voice) when I speak. I've noticed this mostly in Ventrilo, but it also occurs in other programs (Messenger voice, skype, etc). This has only occured since upgrading to Windows 7. Also, it's not that sound is bleeding through the headphones, it's actually being broadcast directly through the microphone.
Drivers are up to date and I also have a friend with the same problem, but the only difference is she has a separate soundcard while I'm using onboard sound. I figure it's a setting in Windows 7 since it's not program specific.

Mar 6, 2012I don't get the "setup.exe" option when installing. I tested it out on 2 other computers and I do. Researching this problem lead me what I thought was the answer (upgrading from Vista should have created a folder called "windows.old" for which I need to rename.Then I will supposedly be able to install the program. However, I can't locate this "windows.old" folder I've used the search box, I've looked through the C: drive. Can't find it anywhere.

All incoming mail is fine. Oct 13, 2011i've noticed that when i have utorrent working, because of the constant upload etc. , the pc doesn't go to standby. What i mean by standby is that the pc doesnt do anything, the light in the front is filickering slowly, and the internet connection is off. When i move the mouse, the pc springs to life , followed by the internet connection , and in a few seconds i'm connected to the internet. Needless to say, i believe u understand the flaw with this - skype gets disconnected even though i want it to remain on, and i'm guessing the same would happen with facebook. As much as power saving is indeed, important i want my computer to not go into this mode , at least not while there is a program that requires internet or even chat websites.

Feb 22, 2011Been trying to update to Skype 5.1 from 5.0. Here is what I have been through.
1.Downloaded the Skype Setup file .98 mb and ran that. Got a fatal error 1603 proceeded by error 1663. Spent a day trying to learn about that. Did not find a solution.
2. Found out that I could download a larger file "Skype SetupFull 20.1 mb. That did not work either.
3. Went to the Skype Community Forum. Would not except my email because another member was using it. Well, duh, that's me signed into my Skype account. Signed out of that account and still could not get into the forum.
5. In the meantime I restored the computer didn't fix the problems. Then I recovered an image that was made on Feb. 4. That did not help so went back to last nights image.
6. A member of Windows 7 Forum suggested the I run SPC SCANNOW and if that did not help to do a "repair install" of W7. The scan did not help. Still got the 1663 error and could not get into the Skype forum.
7. I then did a "repair install" of W7. Took ownership of the following folders all on C drive. Users, Windows, Programfiles and ProgramData.
8. Now when I run SkypeSetupFull 20.1 mb I get a box that say's "Cannot write the installation package to the disk. Be sure I have enough room on the disk".. Well, I have twice the space required. I suspect it has to do with security.
