Broadcasting Sounds From My Headphones When Speaking?
Mar 4, 2012
The problem is that other people can hear what's coming through my headphones (i.e. music, game sounds, their own voice) when I speak. I've noticed this mostly in Ventrilo, but it also occurs in other programs (Messenger voice, skype, etc). This has only occured since upgrading to Windows 7. Also, it's not that sound is bleeding through the headphones, it's actually being broadcast directly through the microphone.
Drivers are up to date and I also have a friend with the same problem, but the only difference is she has a separate soundcard while I'm using onboard sound. I figure it's a setting in Windows 7 since it's not program specific.

I have a Toshiba Satellite computer with a Notebook model and a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system. This laptop computer has an Intel Core i3 processor. My problem is that my Skull Candy headphones will let me hear everything except the files in my Windows Media Player. When I try to play those files, the files will play through my speakers even when the headphones are plugged into the headphone jack. When I unplug the headphones, everything works fine

I closed all the video windows, and ManyCam is still going on broadcasting. I changed the camera source to a different camera and it was still broadcasting (Usually when I press the close button, it stops broadcasting unless there is a video window open). How can I find out which program or process is using it?

I don't get the "setup.exe" option when installing. I tested it out on 2 other computers and I do. Researching this problem lead me what I thought was the answer (upgrading from Vista should have created a folder called "windows.old" for which I need to rename. Then I will supposedly be able to install the program. However, I can't locate this "windows.old" folder I've used the search box, I've looked through the C: drive. Can't find it anywhere.

My computer has "No sounds" as the Control Panel/Sounds choice. It still makes a "boing" noise at odd times happens as well. Neither of these sounds are among the Windows Media .wav sounds. I did a search for .wav and listened to every .wav on my computer. The boing isn't one of them. Anyone else have this problem?

Since I put in Win 7 over the weekend, I have been getting a new sound. I have been d/l several large (2 gig) files restoring my programs. It seems when the HD starts working extra hard, I hear this "ding, ding, ding". One about every second as long as the HD is working hard. It doesn't seem to interfere with the operation, but I am always suspect of sounds that are new.

I'm new here and I'm having a problem with my sounds. I just installed Windows 7 RC 7100 64 bit last night and after I got everything installed today, I noticed songs that are being played in Winamp get a bit choppy when I'm browsing in Firefox (such as scrolling). ASUS G1 Intel 945PM Chipset Intel Core 2 Duo 2.00GHz T7200 667MHz FSB 4MB L2 Cache, Nvidia GeForce Go 7700 512mb (in DxDiag, it shows Approx. Total Memory: 1720 MB; I'm guessing it's using my rams also for additional memory, is this common.

I know I have not discovered anything new with the following problem, but I have not yet read a workable solution.
I find the "bleeps" and "bonks" most annoying when I am navigating around Windows 7, and I am well aware what it says in the personalise/sound menus. The trouble is that opting for "no sound", or switching off individual sounds does not work. I have spent many hours on this problem, to little avail.
if there is a glitsch somewhere in the system, and if there is a solution other than to turn the speakers off. This would be a bit drastic some some of the sounds are useful.

none of my error sounds are working!!! it doesn't matter if they are the default sounds or custom ones, they won't work!!! they won't even work when I go into system sounds and hit 'test' still no sound played but if I navigate to C:\windows\media and double click the sound files, they play in Windows Media Player just fine they just won't work when the error sound needs to I tried restarting the computer but still NONE of my error sounds will work!!! I also tried to reassociate the error sounds in the system sound setting but still won't sound the startup and shutdown sounds DO NOT work either.

One night watching online tv sound disappeared and then few second later came back.So now I am getting random times where sound just cuts out for 2 - 40 seconds, This happens when watching movies, playing games, listening to music and ect.I got a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI Express Sound card and my on-board sound chip is disabled and I got Logitech 5.1 x-540 Surround systemI've done some tests when the sound cut off I plugged the audio cable to on-board chip(Enabled it for the test) and then the sound card but they both had no sound. So I am guessing its not hardware issue. I did nu-installed old drivers and installed new ones but they haven't fixed the issue.

I'm wondering why windows 7 doesn't allow you to play sounds thru 2 different jacks or ports. As in, my case has USB, front headphones jack, and rear speakers jack.
But I can only at one time use one of the 3. I can only have sounds routed thru my speakers. Or thru my headphone jack, or my USB headphones. I can't have 2 running.
Basically sometimes I want game sounds thru speakers and vent thru headphones. Or much simpler, I want 2 headphones running so my girlfriend and I can watch hulu together.
My audio drivers are all up to date. It's a Windows 7 option/setting or lack there of.
How do I get it to play sound thru both the front and rear speaker jacks simultaneously?

I have an odd problem whenever I am listening to music, or whenever windows makes any sort of sound (like error alerts, log off sound etc)Any sound is played distorted and is completely beyond recognition. I noticed that this only happens when I have an AVG scan running and if I pause/continue the scan, the music will change almost instantly. This suddenly started about a week ago and I hadn't installed any new software or anything.

My computer has been crashing recently and i don't know why. It seems to be most frequent when i open a program quickly after logging on but it's only the case about 70% of the times. The crashing is always in 3 steps:
- ticking sounds for about a minute where my mouse is able to move on the screne but nothing responds
- Blue screen error message which says: "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. A process of thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly - or been terminted. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps: chek to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed ...If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware. Disable eror memory option such as caching or shadowing. ...

... Physical memory dump FAILED with status 0xC0000010.
- computer turns off
When i turn my computer on, it asks me to turn it on on safe mode or not, if i say no, sometimes it happens again (up to 2 times) sometimes no.

I've recently put my new system together and since then i've been experiencing several Blue Screen of Deaths.
First i thought it was on the video driver, as windows crashed alot when alt-tabbing back into games, but my most recent crash was when i clicked on " next song" in windows media player. I've read a bit on it on the net, and it seems that updating the sounddriver should fix it, but as the crashes are random i'd like some extra advice so that i'm sure i'm not missing anything.
The BSoD tells me that it was ATIHDMI.sys that crashed.

I need help regarding my PC. I've been getting continuous long beeping sounds lately. It seems to happen everytime I press multiple keys in my keyboard at the same time, which of course is unavoidable when you're playing games. Now everytime it happens, my keyboard wouldn't work properly, or sometimes it wouldn't work at all. Unplugging the keyboard doesn't stop the beeping, but it goes back to normal everytime the beeping stops. And I also noticed that my speaker produces low rumbling sounds everytime it happens.
