View 1 Replies View RelatedMy sound is acting strange since i've installed Windows 7. (Ex-Vista user). It's making static/crackling sounds when I listen to music, or play games anything that makes sounds is getting disturbed by some kind of interrupting sound that makes crackling sounds..
Things I've tried:
1. I tried switching the cables (bought new ones)
2. I tried different speakers
3. I tried 2 different headphones
4. I tried cleaning my computer (dust)
5. I tried to get rid of any disturbing devices (phones, radios)
6. I tried uninstalling my device (HD audio device) and test it, and reinstall it, and test it again
7. I tried a reset boot (holding button for few seconds)
8. I got rid of my webcam it contained a microphone.
I noticed about a month ago that my Hp windows 7 desktop pc kept trying to connect to the internet using explorer, I then scanned the pc using Norton and found nothing so performed a system restore and the problem stopped. Now when using the computer it sometimes becomes very slow and the mouse lags and if I am playing music at the time, the sound becomes slow and badly distorted high screeching sounds. I have tried system restore, hardware diagnostics and factory reset but the problem is still there. This problem(s) don`t occur all the time, just when I think everything is ok it starts again.
View 9 Replies View Relatedthe windows installer is not posting application installs. I see dates in the control panel of install but no volume/meg counts. I have one program I use all the time -fenderfuse - and I cannot get it to work. Most everything else is okay as I installed them a while back and these programs are working. I found 4 virus's yesterday and the virus checker could not put them in the vault so I was able to delete them. The virus detector wanted to check all my boot files. It found several corrupt boot files items and could not repair them. I was able to deleted them, When I check users, rose - application data is missing. I downloaded windows performance kit and windows sdk v7, I believe someone told me to do this so that I can fix my problems but not sure what to do and I didn't put the tech site in my favorites folder so I'm not happy with myself. I do see some debugging tools for windows .64 so I will check that out. I also have microsoft silverlight installed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe method used by most to upload screen shots and pictures is saving it in .jpeg/jpg/jpe format and by using the Snipping Tool and the Attachments (paperclip) at the top of the Reply Box.
If you do not know about the Snipping Tool, please read this Tutorial on it.
How to use the Snipping Tool in Vista - Vista Forums
To start, use the Snipping Tool or whatever screenshot program you prefer and save it as a .jpeg/jpg/jpe.
When you are ready to include a screen shot in your thread/post, click on the paperclip in the reply box, where it will go to the Manage Attachments page.
From there, click on the browse button to open up the File Upload window.
Insert you image and click on The Upload button to the right.
You can also upload the file from a url.
Now, close the Attachment window at the top right.
You can now reclick on your paperclip..
and pick the file to insert into your post.
My computer has "No sounds" as the Control Panel/Sounds choice. It still makes a "boing" noise at odd times happens as well. Neither of these sounds are among the Windows Media .wav sounds. I did a search for .wav and listened to every .wav on my computer. The boing isn't one of them. Anyone else have this problem?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen listening to music on my PC, it does not matter if I use Winamp, Songbird, Quicktime, Windows Media Player, or any other software. Every so often, there appears some sort of distortion, like the drive that the music is on slows down. I dont know if it is the driver or what. Its hard to explain. You have to hear it. I dont think its the mp3 file itself, cause I could play a song and it will be perfect, but then the next time I play it, it will distort. It is really driving my nuts cause I can't find the reason for it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using a third party music player, MusicBee, to play my music, however if I select a folder in windows explorer of an artist that has more than one album in sub folders under the artist name then the "PLAY ALL" button does nothing.
If I select a folder without sub folders inside the PLAY button works fine and open MusicBee to play the music.
I also have VLC installed and if I right click on any music folder I get the Play with VLC option, how can I add this same option for MusicBee.
Since I put in Win 7 over the weekend, I have been getting a new sound. I have been d/l several large (2 gig) files restoring my programs. It seems when the HD starts working extra hard, I hear this "ding, ding, ding". One about every second as long as the HD is working hard. It doesn't seem to interfere with the operation, but I am always suspect of sounds that are new.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm new here and I'm having a problem with my sounds. I just installed Windows 7 RC 7100 64 bit last night and after I got everything installed today, I noticed songs that are being played in Winamp get a bit choppy when I'm browsing in Firefox (such as scrolling). ASUS G1 Intel 945PM Chipset Intel Core 2 Duo 2.00GHz T7200 667MHz FSB 4MB L2 Cache, Nvidia GeForce Go 7700 512mb (in DxDiag, it shows Approx. View 0 Replies View RelatedI know I have not discovered anything new with the following problem, but I have not yet read a workable solution.
I find the "bleeps" and "bonks" most annoying when I am navigating around Windows 7, and I am well aware what it says in the personalise/sound menus. The trouble is that opting for "no sound", or switching off individual sounds does not work. I have spent many hours on this problem, to little avail.
if there is a glitsch somewhere in the system, and if there is a solution other than to turn the speakers off. This would be a bit drastic some some of the sounds are useful.
none of my error sounds are working!!! it doesn't matter if they are the default sounds or custom ones, they won't work!!! they won't even work when I go into system sounds and hit 'test' still no sound played but if I navigate to C:\windows\media and double click the sound files, they play in Windows Media Player just fine they just won't work when the error sound needs to I tried restarting the computer but still NONE of my error sounds will work!!! I also tried to reassociate the error sounds in the system sound setting but still won't sound the startup and shutdown sounds DO NOT work either.

View 9 Replies View RelatedOne night watching online tv sound disappeared and then few second later came back.So now I am getting random times where sound just cuts out for 2 - 40 seconds, This happens when watching movies, playing games, listening to music and ect.I got a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI Express Sound card and my on-board sound chip is disabled and I got Logitech 5.1 x-540 Surround systemI've done some tests when the sound cut off I plugged the audio cable to on-board chip(Enabled it for the test) and then the sound card but they both had no sound. So I am guessing its not hardware issue. I did nu-installed old drivers and installed new ones but they haven't fixed the issue.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering why windows 7 doesn't allow you to play sounds thru 2 different jacks or ports. As in, my case has USB, front headphones jack, and rear speakers jack.
But I can only at one time use one of the 3. I can only have sounds routed thru my speakers. Or thru my headphone jack, or my USB headphones. I can't have 2 running.
Basically sometimes I want game sounds thru speakers and vent thru headphones. Or much simpler, I want 2 headphones running so my girlfriend and I can watch hulu together.
My audio drivers are all up to date. It's a Windows 7 option/setting or lack there of.
How do I get it to play sound thru both the front and rear speaker jacks simultaneously?

I've recently put my new system together and since then i've been experiencing several Blue Screen of Deaths.
First i thought it was on the video driver, as windows crashed alot when alt-tabbing back into games, but my most recent crash was when i clicked on " next song" in windows media player. I've read a bit on it on the net, and it seems that updating the sounddriver should fix it, but as the crashes are random i'd like some extra advice so that i'm sure i'm not missing anything.
The BSoD tells me that it was ATIHDMI.sys that crashed.
I keep hearing random windows sounds in the background when I'm playing a game and I keep hearing the little sound it makes when you hit shutdown in windows.
Anyone else had a similar problem?
I need help regarding my PC. I've been getting continuous long beeping sounds lately. It seems to happen everytime I press multiple keys in my keyboard at the same time, which of course is unavoidable when you're playing games. Now everytime it happens, my keyboard wouldn't work properly, or sometimes it wouldn't work at all. Unplugging the keyboard doesn't stop the beeping, but it goes back to normal everytime the beeping stops. And I also noticed that my speaker produces low rumbling sounds everytime it happens.
