I had this error when i right click to my computer and choose manage!!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just noticed an odd occurrence when i right click on Computer either on my desktop or the start menu & click Manage, it does nothing, just a timer circle for a sec and thats it. can run the Computer Management shortcut fine. I have had win 7 installed for a little while now and i know it was working fine up until yesterday.
I have seen others with the same or similar problem with running the manager from the computer context menus but the only answer iv seen is to do a repare install. There must be something better as how do i know it wont just happen again ? would any1 know what might have caused this? & if im really lucky how to fix it.
Normally I used to right click on Computer and Choose Manage and do what I needed to do. Now, in Windows 7 Prof x64, I get a message to "Register Context Menu Platinum" and it counts down from what ever number and then I go to the web site for this program..(http://www.contextmenu.net/register_...text_menu.html)
Any one else have this issue? of know of a fix? I can get around it if I go to:
control panel/administrative tools/computer Management.
1. cannot right click anywhere in the computer.
2. active windows have the menu options underlined so that when i attempt to use the shift or control keys, a menu action is the result, rather then then the normal typing function that i am attempting to exicute.
3. active windows do not appear on top
4. windows media player will not show the video window, only the playlists. it does play the file, but i cannot see the video. now, i could see the video if i left the window small and the window is not the active window now all these happen after i reboot or turn the computer off and on again. the problems seem to resolve themselves after about 10 days. but that is awful and i hate it. i have maxpc cleaner and stopzilla protection. i had not downloaded any software, i did use the restore point right after the first instance (which was three months ago). now i did spill beer on my key board and was forced to get a wireless one. Logitech k250. if that is the cause, is there a solution without buying a new keyboard.
Waiting Cursor problem in using right click anywhere in Computer. When I right click on a drive letter or a subfolder I expect to instantly see a dropdown list containing Open, Delete, Rename, Properties etc.But what I get is over five minutes of blue circle waiting, then the drop down list appears. This happens every time I use right click anywhere in Computer--no exceptions.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use a seperate SDD on which I play DCS World Games .Win7 is also on that disk as part of a dual boot but here it only serves to operate the games and ancilliaries. I have found that when clicking on 'Computer' in the Start Menu or the icon on Desktop ; there is no response and I cannot gain access to computer on on that disk.I have run various malware, anti virus programs but all seems clear I have formatted and reinstalled Win7 and the games from DCS. At first all was well but the problem has returned . I should have mentioned that last week the problen extended to 'Task Manager' ans 'Waste Basket' ; neither would open to a double click. The fact that the problem has returned makes me believe that a virus is high on the list of suspects but I cannot locate it[CODE]

If chkdsk will not run when you click error check at Computer, what is the command prompt that will do it instead.I am looking for the two replacements only. I used Windows Backup and saved it to my external hard drive. Now I have almost identical files and folders there and on the now visible Recovery drive. TBUH, when making the backup several options appeared and I checked one without being 110% sure it was right.
Did possibly I do something not right? What need I do to correct anything wrong, including which folders and files I may safely delete? What advice do I need for future?

I've downloaded the most recent driver & searched for a solution online but haven't found anyone who has fixed this issue. Did everyone just give up or am I not patient enough & haven't dug deep enough. If I use a USB mouse there are no problems it just seems to be with the built-in after I've used the USB mouse.

The manage add-ons folder is empty. There are a variety of ways to get to that folder and I have tried them all. There is nothing in it. No toolbars, no search providers, and no Accelerators. It doesn't even contain the InPrivate filtering link. What's more the navigation Pane is also empty.
It's odd because the most common add-ons that shoud be accessable there seem to work OK. Adobe Flash, Java ..etc. Everything is updated. PC: Windows 7 x64, IE8,
