Windows 7 Live Mail Crashing On Launch And Refusing To Start
Sep 2, 2011I have been really happy with windows 7 and Live Mail as it allowed me to sync all my emails into one (business1, business2, personal etc etc) but about 1 week ago it started crashing on launch and is refusing to start. I have tried uninstalling via programfiles/windowslive/installer and re-installing and repairing but I am stil unable to launch the program.

I am guessing that there is still Live data which is being stored on my PC even after uninstall, is there anyway to delete such data in the case that it is the cause of the constant crashing?
Random Crashes, Refusing To Start Afterwards?
Aug 26, 2012Since about 4 months ago, my computer has crashed randomly. Every time this happens, I would try to reboot it, and it would start for between one second and five minutes before crashing again. It would continue to refuse to start like this for 10 minutes to three days at one point.It started four months ago, and occurs fairly rarely. Since the first "series" of crashes, it's only happened five or six times, with anytime between a week and a month separating the crashes.My computer has just crashed again, and as expected, is not opening right now, so I'm typing this from my tablet.if there's any specific information needed please tell me and I'd be happy to gather it once my computer decides to start up again.
Edit: More info - Windows 7, computer is about 10 months old, and I do this have a warranty on it. A curious note, the light on my wireless adapter remains on after the computer has crashes, whereas it would normally be off if I turned the computer off normally.Gives me the option of starting in safe mode, crashes there too. Usually it'll crash before the option is even offered. I've also tried plugging it into other sockets around the house, but still crashes.
OneNote Refusing To Start In The System Tray?
Jul 3, 2010Tools > Options > "Place OneNote icon in notification area of taskbar" is set.The shortcut in Startup for both "ONENOTE.EXE" and "OneNote 2007 Screen Clipper and Launcher" both have the Run: Minimized state on them.Everytime I start my PC, ON opens and isn't minimized to the system tray. It opens the program totally; any idea why? It's quite annoying.

Jul 7, 2012I have a Sony Vaio with Windows 7 installed on it. Recently, my computer was attacked by a virus. As soon as I noticed, I turned off the computer manually, and booted back up in safe mode. I ran Avast, Ad-Aware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. All 3 found a couple of threats, which I deleted. I tried restarting my computer, and then running these 3 again in safe mode (with network). I did it as long as threats were found. Once the computer felt safe, I tried booting in normal mode.
Here's the problem : I get to the "Welcome" page, and then everything goes black but my cursor. What's strange about the problem : For some reason, I did succeed to get it to open normally 2 or 3 times, but every single time it would be crazy laggy. Internet Explorer wouldn't work either. It freezes as soon as I try to access anything. And now it's back to a black screen after the "Welcome" page when I try booting in normal mode. Only my cursor appears (I can move the cursor). Safe Mode works just fine too, only Normal mode has a problem.
Windows 7 Refusing To Boot After Installing Latest Nvidia Drivers
Feb 7, 2013This combination of drivers works fine in windows vista 32 bit.. boots up fine and everything. Today I finally got my SSDD for my OS and a copy of Windows 7 64 bit. I installed it fine without error. Then installed my chipset drivers that I downloaded off of Nvidia's website (64 bit, worked fine, rebooted), installed my nvidia display drivers, rebooted.. now whenever I start windows up. I get the flowery blue background windows logo. It just hangs there and never boots. However it will boot fine into safe mode and after I uninstall the display drivers... though my gaming computer is going to be pretty useless if I can't game with it!

I am going to try installing the motherboard chipset drivers from Asus's website. I believe the version number is 15.43, then try reinstalling the video drivers. However I don't think this is going to make much a difference.

Jun 29, 2012My Optiarc DVD RW AD-7203A drive refuses to recognize any sort of media I put within it. I am unsure of when this problem occured (because I rarely use the drive, which begs the question of how in the world can it stop working), but I do know that nothing I have tried has helped me.I've tried all of the following:Editing the registry to no avail because the "Lower Filters" key is not present, therefore the kb article is of no use.Uninstalling/reinstalling the drive Changing the Start key in the registry to "3" Formatting the entire machine and restoring to factory settings The thing is, whenever I enter the Device Manager to check on the drive, it keeps saying it's working perfectly/drivers are up-to-date/blah blah blah. Remote Desktop Refusing Connections
Oct 26, 2012I am running into a unique situation with Remote Desktop that I have never seen before. I have 3 PC's, two laptops and 1 desktop, all running Win 7 64B retail. Under normal circumstances I use the desktop as the hub of my work and remote desktop into the laptops when I need. Last night I installed a MS Update that included a driver update for my MS Wireless keyboard. After the necessary reboot of that, Remote Desktop from my desktop to any of the laptops has completely stopped working. All the PC's are connected into the same switch that is connected to the internet. I can ping back and forth from the desktop to the laptop successfully. I can Remote desktop between the two laptops successfully. However, no matter what I do I can't Remote Desktop from the desktop to anything. I have tried giving all the PC's new names, creating a different workgroup and adding them to that, creating a new Admin account on the desktop and trying that. All with no success. I have also tried disabling the firewall on both the desktop and the laptops, still no success. I would uninstall the MS update for the keyboard driver, but it isn't showing up in the list of updates that I can back out of.

Doing so brought up yet another error. saying startup repair could not repair this computer automatically.clicking show problem details said the problem event name was startuprepairoffiline. installing other os's either get stuck during the install or bring up a blue screen. the pc itself isn't making strange noises or anything, temperatures are normal.

HP Laptop Windows 7 Won't Start Up And Can't Do A System Restore
May 3, 2012So the SMART program has warned me about an imminent hard drive crash for a while. Yesterday Windows was installing updates when my dad closed the laptop lid, when I come home afterschool today, I open the lid and it is frozen. Windows warns not to power off during the updates but since it is frozen I have no choice so I power it off. I have constantly getting BSODs, and have to do a system restore everyday so I was not too worried when it wouldn't start up. So i hit f11 when i turn on my computer and it takes me to the HP Recovery Manager, HOWEVER this time the option to do a System Restore was greyed out and I can't click it! I don't have working recovery CDs so what can I do about this?? My new hard drive is also coming in tomorrow, but i won't be able to replace my failing hard drive when my Pc can't even start up now, and I can't do a system recovery to fix it...

Oct 27, 2012I was browsing the web and my laptop froze. I held the powe button to turn it off and now when i turn it on, it only goes to the windows logo and no farther. If i leave it alone, after 20 minutes it goes to a black screen with a cursor. I have tried starting in safemode as well and it only loads some of the files before freezing.
