Installation Of Snow Leopard And Triple Boot (Windows + Windows + Snow)

Jun 30, 2010

I have a ASUS G72 with Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53 GHz.I have one HDD and 4 partitions in it(c is windows 7 home premium x64, d is windows 7 ultimate x64, e is empty and i am planning to install snow leopard on e and f is just my important files.).my dvd writer seems to be only compatible with dvd + r dl.i have a 8 gb microsd (SD) card.as i said, i want to install snow leopard on e: and i want to have triple boot (windows 7 home premium x64, windows 7 ultimate x64 and snow leopard).simply, just with a windows pc (notebook that is), how can i install snow leopard by the 8 gb SD or by dvd + r dl and how can i make a triple boot?

Note: Snow Leopard Installation DVD is 6 GB so it requires a DL DVD if being installed from DVD, the thing is -for some reason- people are advising DVD - R DL.

Windows 7 / Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 In Dual Boot

Oct 14, 2010

For my studies in Brussels, they all use mac os x. I have a compaq laptop with an upgrade from vista on it (so now Windows 7 ultimate). I do not want to buy a new macintosh laptop because i do not want to ruin my savers (like 900 euro's)... So I bought my self a upgrade DVD (20 euro's) to Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Is there any way I can just install that thing WITHOUT deleting my windows 7 (it has a lot of giveawayoftheday programs installed wich I use daily) so I do not want to lose them... and then set up a dual boot so I can just hit mac or windows? My laptop is complex and I do not know a lot about computers...

Trying To Dual Boot - Windows 7 And Snow Leopard (Getting Kernel Panic)

Oct 28, 2011

I'm trying to dual boot windows 7 and snow leopard. The problem that I am getting is, that when I try to boot into Mac it says kernel panic or something like that and tells me I need to restart my computer. I keep restarting it and keep on getting the same thing. I'll start from the beginning on how I started off. First I put in snow leopard cd then when the installer loaded i went into utilities, then disk utilities. I then split my hard drive into two partitions. First one I named Snow Leopard the second windows 7. Then after it erased everything and partitioned I installed snow leapord on partition 1 then windows 7 on partition 2. When I put in the Iboot CD and chose Mac it gave me the problem that I mentioned above. So right now I'm on the second partition the one named Windows 7.

Dual Booting Win7 And Snow Leopard

Oct 16, 2009

So I'm a computer engineering student and I would love to be able to dual-boot Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) on my Dell computer. However, I'm worried things will go terribly wrong and I'll end up screwing my computer up. I'm no expert (yet) when it comes to installation of OS's, partitioning, etc., but I'm pretty sure I could figure most of it out... if I had a guide.

Does anyone have/has anyone made a step-by-step Windows 7/OS X dual-boot procedure that is relatively simple to understand?

* As a note: I will be installing Windows 7 from a CD in about a week when I delete my Vista partition (after backing up all of my files). I'm assuming I would have to order Snow Leopard (a single use license) in order to install it!

Triple Boot Using Windows 7, Mac OS X, And Ubuntu

Jun 26, 2012

Let me get right to the point (details to follow). I want to be able to triple boot Windows 7, Mac OS X and Ubuntu and I don't know how or if it is even possible.  For the past few weeks I have been looking for a guide on how to triple boot using Windows 7, OS X and Ubuntu. However, I have not been able to find a guide that pertains to my situation; my situation is that I have Windows 7 already installed which I am currently using and now I want to install and use OS X and Ubuntu in a triple boot configuration. The guides that I have seen so far have OS X as the starting operating system and go on to show how to install Windows 7 then Ubuntu, or the guides force me to repartition the drive with my Windows 7 installation and start all over, or the guides only show me how to install all three operating systems on a single drive with three partitions.  Ideally here is what I would like...1. Keep my original Windows 7 installation intact. I have quite a few programs installed and would very much enjoy not having to set up everything again.2. Have each operating system (Windows 7, Mac OS X, and Ubuntu) on their own hard drive. Or at the very least have OS X and Ubuntu on a single drive, each with their own partition3. Be able to triple boot and select the operating system I wish to use.

Triple Boot 2 Windows 7 And 1 XP In One Hard Drive

Mar 22, 2012

Recently I had a drive failure and I need to have an extra Windows 7 x32. The remaining drive a WD 320gb drive has a dual-boot Windows 7 and XP. How can I triple boot in just one hard drive?

On that particular system I am using Neosmart's iReboot/EasyBCD so when I want to boot to either of the former arrangment I can do that easily and not be bothered by the boot selection.

Now I am using ATI Home 2011 and I was planning to make recover an image from the drive that failed to a 3rd partition on the WD320gb drive. I really need to get this one going in the meantime I do not have the money to buy a new one.

Win 7 With Vista And Linux Triple Boot

Oct 25, 2009

I installed Win 7 on a triple boot with Vista and Linux and meant to keep Linux and Win 7, expecting Vista to be overwritten. Unforeseen Vista remained installed.

Using a special boot cdrom, I get entries for all 3 OS, but Vista boots into my Lenovo laptop's rescue software and proposes to "rescue" the Vista and I can't get passed that. I expect it means deleting the other OS?

I imagine I could uninstall Vista in some way placed in the folder Windows_Old or maybe being able to boot it, as I would be able to get some registration keys off software as well as using some software that doesn't work on Windows 7. How can I now uninstall Vista safely?

I expect a partition manager like in Linux could recover the partitions for new data.

Does anyone have some comments on this?

Triple Boot XP, Vista, And Win7

May 10, 2009

I have four SATA II drives, four gig memory, etc, in my machine that have Windows XP and Vista dual-booting. Both OS's are installed on the same physical drives; about 150 gig each partition.

I've freed up one of the drives, changed the BIOS to boot from the DVD, and installed Windows 7, 64-bit. The installation completed without a hitch and the setup detected everything, sans the Viewsonic monitor. Windows did have a driver for the monitor, but I used the one for Vista 64-bit from Viewsonic and we are good.

After rebooting Windows 7, I expected to have couple of boot option but there's none. No XP and/or Vista, just Windows 7. I've tried to locate the bootmanager in Windows 7, but I couldn't find it and that worried me. There was no backup made since it should've picked up the other OS's.

I didn't touch any of the bootsectors, nor did Windows 7; the latter one did make the drive a primary disk and installed the boot record there. After modifying the BIOS, making the the XP/Vista drive the first drive to be booted, XP and Vista came back, but Windows 7 disappeared. I can boot either OS's by changing the order the drives are booted by the BIOS, but I rather have the choice for XP/Vista/7 in the boot menu.

I am not sure why Windows 7 didn't pick up on the other OS's; the reason could be the SATA drives, if I'd have to guess. Since "disk 1" was set as the first drive to boot by the BIOS, Windows 7 did not check other drives and declared itself the only OS.

The question is, how do I add Windows 7 to the Vista's boot menu, or alternatively, how do I add XP/Vista to 7's boot menu?

Geforce GTX 590 In Conflict With Windows During Triple Monitor Setup

Dec 1, 2011

It may be because there are 3 DVI ports on the one card but Win 7 does not recognise all 3 monitors, only 2.

On the contrary the Nvidia control panel recognises all 3 monitors and I am able to configure all 3 screens with a res of 5760 / 1080. All is fine until I reboot and then nothing. All monitors blank. I can only assume that it's because of a conflict with the Nvidia driver (latest) and windows.

My question is, is it possible to force windows to recognise all 3 monitors?

Windows 7 Installation Boot?

Jun 28, 2010

I currently have 4 drives. I had Vista on my primary drive1, no OS secondary slave drive, Linux on my sata drive1, and Windows 7 64x on my sata drive2. I recently deleted Vista and installed windows 7 86x on my primary drive. Before installing Windows 7 86x the windows boot option gave me the choice to choose between the three OS and now it does not. The Windows 7 x64 drive is accessible and I'm able to view all folders but I can't get it to boot and that is where I have all my programs and work.

How can I get the boot manager to recognize my windows 7 64x drive which is not the primary drive?

Windows 7 Won't Boot After Installation Of New RAM

Nov 30, 2012

Recently i decided to stick some extra RAM in my old computer as 2GB didn't seem like enough. After removing the 2x 1gb sticks and putting in everything (2x 2gb and 2x 1gb) when i got to windows boot up screen it took a while to load, and then froze. I played around with the RAM, tried only one of the 2gb in all 4 DDR2 slots and it booted perfectly, i did the same with other 2gb stick and same result so it isnt the RAM, and neither does it seem its the slots. Did the same thing with the 1gb and fine. tried every permutations involving the 4 sticks but whenever i top 2gb windows freezes.I read around first and looked at similar problems people have had on this, and so i cleared the CMOS and updated the BIOS but still the same result (didn't do all permutations this time). Windows 7 Will No Longer Boot - Asking For Installation CD

Have dual boot; XP and 7. 7 will no longer boot, asking for the installation CD. I don't have an installation CD, only the one that puts everything back as it was when purchased. Can I get a boot file that will boot from USB? Or since I can see the 7 drive from XP, could I add a file to Win7? I checked on EasyBCD that is supposed to work, but I' use RollBack and it won't work with RollBack installed. I'm afraid to uninstall RollBack since it has saved me so many times in the past.

Cannot Boot To Windows 7 Installation Disk

May 15, 2012

My computer has been unable to boot to the Windows 7 installer for the past two days. My boot order is correct I have confirmed that the drive works (It runs a live CD of Ubuntu just fine). I have checked that the disk works (it boots fine in another machine). I have used this same disk on this computer before several times before with successful outcomes.

My diagnostics come back successful as well. I'm on a Dell Studio 1735 (from 2008). I'm really at a lost as to why it's not booting to the DVD. I'm currently typing this from my Ubuntu partition; I don't have convenient access to a Windows machine at this point.
