View 2 RepliesThe Volume Mixer in Windows 7 is supposed to show applications that are running sound, right? Well, mine shows some applications, like Firefox and Guild Wars 2 and Mozilla Thunderbird and KMPlayer. But it doesn't show volume for other applications that use sound like Winamp and ePSXe (playstation emulator). I'm playing Final Fantasy VIII on ePSXe and the game doesn't have a volume control itself for, say, music and/or sound effects. And I'd like to be able to turn down the sound on the emulator game so that the game volume doesn't intermingle with my music in the background played by Winamp. Is there a way I can add these applications to the Volume Mixer? Or, alternatively, is there a freeware/opensource program that will allow me to adjust the volume of individual programs?I am new here so hopefully I have done everything right. I was going to try to list my system specs here in this thread but I followed the link at the top of this Post New Thread page and filled out my System Specs according to the walkthrough.

So I've not long migrated from XP to 7 and I've noticed that every time I watch or stream audio my Adobe Flash Player 11 which I like to set to 50% in Volume Mixer jumps up to 75% which makes the audio playback distorted & poor sound quality.
How do I get it to stay at 50% ? Usually I do like to set volumes to 75% which is what I've got my Realtek Device set to but Adobe crackles and sounds bad at 75% so I have to set it to 50%
My sound mixer is not remember the settings I give to individual programs after they close and reopen. Say a game for instance, if I put the volume to 20% in the sound mixer and then exit the game, then go back on the game and check the volume in sound mixer.Instead of it saying 20% still and remembering it resets the volume to 100%.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy computer is a Windows 7 Home Edition, soundcard is a Realtek High Definition Audio. The volume level is at about 5% or less, it was working fine and all of a sudden I can't hear anything or I can barely hear. I can see the levels at max when I play something but I can't hear a thing. I have tried raising all the levels from every device all the way to the top I have changed the settings under Communications to > Do Nothing I have uninstalled the drivers and re-installed. Downloaded the driver from Realtek and re-installed and also uninstalled the driver and re-installed automatically using windows 7 wizard. I have checked for any errors in my sound card using Sound troubleshooter and everything seems to be OK with the sound card. As I said it was working fine and suddenly the levels dropped to 5% or less. It went up to like 50% one time for about 2 seconds last night but now I can't hear anything. When I restart windows I can hear my speakers activate or something like that, but no other sound, not even the starting windows sound.
View 6 Replies View Relatedright, you know where you can adjust the sound volume, you know, in the bottom right corner by the time! well, whenever i go to change the volume, i often get a window pop up that says 'not responding'
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy sound mixer was working fine, then all of a sudden one day it stopped working. I have no idea why. i dont know if its a software issue or hardware issue. the mic is disabled and the sound mixer is enabled, i disabled it and reenabled it and it still didnt work, i went into the properties and everything is where it should be (volume, ect) i checked the actual mixer down by the clock and that sound was fine on everything to! the speakers are working video is working so i dont think its any of my cards and i hear the audio fine, theres nothing wrong otherwise. i feel like maybe its muted somewhere bc when i tried the mic that didnt work either.but i looked in every possible spot i even tried to update the drivers but nothing needed updating.
View 6 Replies View RelatedThis is a weird issue I'm having. I did a restart and when I came back BF3 wasnt playing any sounds, which is weird because it was just working. I went to make sure it wasnt muted in the mixer, and I see the weirdest thing.
The application "System Sound" is disapearing in and out very quickly, not only in the mixer but In devices as well
What can I do to fix it? Maybe reinstall Windows 7 sound drivers?
It just happened out of nowhere. My sound was working fine last night, then this morning I played a video and there was no sound. I clicked the volume icon in the task bar to see if I could hear the 'ping' when you adjust volume but it repeatedly froze and crashed (it's still doing this now after rebooting). Sound in control panel also crashes first thing when I try to open it. I want my sound back.

Other than volume, I can't seem to find a something similar to iTunes which can help fix my sound quality.
I have cheap desktop speakers and a mini subwoofer -- the bass needs to be turned down.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn Vista, I was able to sort files by date created, highlight the files I want, then sort again by name, and all the files I selected previously would still be highlighted, but now they're in numerical order. Win 7 won't let me apply that second level of sorting. It's either name or date, but not both.
View 1 Replies View RelatedA few days ago my computer started acting a bit wonky, certain applications running slowly and eventually crashing. I assumed this was caused by some sort of Trojan or other virus and I scanned my computer with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and MSE. Nothing came up for MBAM but there were three issues with MSE, two I then rooting in some java app. I thought this was the issue but it continued. The computer starts up fine and I haven't had BSOD so far, but not application, even explorer browsers, freeze up within 30 seconds of use. The issue with the sound lagging was just at first noticed with a few games I played. The announced messages would stutter for a minute even though it was a 3 second phrase.I'm posting this from my phone because I'm running a chkdsk scan on my computer again, but nothing showed up the first time.

It's getting increasingly annoying. I listen to music through the Line-in which is why the levels are the same as the "Windows Media Center Diagnostic".

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have some technical difficulty in fixing the Realtek Driver. I recently bought the ASUS P8P67 motherboard (BIOS version 1204) and installed the provided Audio driver that came with the box which is version 6.0.1.6196. Other specs displayed in Realtek info page is
DirectX version 11.0
Audio Controler : HD Audio
Audio Codec: ALC892
I am running Window 7 Ultimate on x64 bits with the Sandy Bridge i7-2600 core. Noise Suppression and Acoustic Echo cancellation are disabled.
My problem with this driver is that from time to time, the volume on the Realtek mixer drops down immediately as shown on the screenshot.
Also, to certain programs that I am using, like Battlefield 2, the volume keeps resetting to very low even though I set it to volume level 28 before I closed the program. When I stop the recording or I closed the Midomi website (from screenshot), the tab drags back itself to 28 for iTune and the music played back at normal volume
How can I disable Realtek from keeping resetting my volume to low for the programs that I am using? Is this a bug? I tried reinstalling it did not fixed the issue. I tried putting the system volume to 28, and tried recording but the bug still exists.
I tried looking around the forum, but it seems to all point to the BIOS. My BIOS has been cleared which indicated clearing it again will not fix the problem.
Running windows 7 64-bit. Having trouble with opening my volume mixer. Does not open at all from taskbar or when i try from control panel>sounds. Ive tried looking up this problem on google, but I can never get mine solved. My speakers and headphones still work, but i need to take out the usb from the headphones each time i want to switch where the sound comes out from. Ive tried restarting my comp. Also validated files in sys32 folder from admin cmd. I just dont want to have to run a system restore to open this up.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've searched around on the net for anyone else that might have this problem, but no luck. The program is a game called Shores of Hazeron, the sound works fine, apart from the fact it isn't showing up in the volume mixer, and the game doesn't have any volume controls in its in-game settings. Which can be a bit annoying when you have the rumbling of a starship in your ear when you're trying to listen to music.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Toshiba Satellite A665-S6086 laptop which had to be re-imaged back to out of the box status. Before the re-imaging, the Realtek audio controller had a mixer panel in its device manager, and on the system volume control, that allowed me to record from the mix of audio going to the speaker (labeled "stereo mix" ). Now, I find that the ONLY recording device that EXISTS is the physical built-in microphone; I just recorded a streamed radio program, and it was basically recording the room noises and, very faintly, the audio from the speaker. That was how I discovered the change in software environment. I have tried downloading the driver from the recovery partition; it installs but does not correct the problem. I have tried uninstalling both audio devices and letting them reinstall on restart. I can play audio to the speakers, but not record the audio internally.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy computer has Realtek HD audio. In my previous installation of windows 7, the tray volume icon would show several audio outputs at once. For example, if I clicked the volume icon it would have have a volume control for the Speakers (rear audio out), the headphones (front audio out), and the HDMI audio that my GTX460 sends. Now, I can only get one of them to show at a time. What's going on?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been giving Voiceovers a go and have been told that I need both my Alesis Miser as well as an Digital Audio Interface. My Mixer has a built in preamp and plugs directly into my computer by the use of an USB cord. My Alesis Mixer also has two XLR ports for my Studio Condensor Mic. But I am told the outcome is not as clear as it would be if I now ran out and purchased an Digital Audio Interface and/or a better sound card. The Sound card I am using is merely the ON-BOARD sound card that came with the machine.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe sound card I am using is a SupremeFX-X-Fi that came with the Asus MB. I am running a dual boot system with Xp Pro SP3 and Windows 7.As per Ulrich's on the Asus forum I d/l'd the 64 bit sound driver set for the Rampage Extreme MB. I unzipped them and used the "AsusSetup" icon to install. After the installer ran it wanted a reboot so I did that. Then I got another message asking if I want to run (x86)analog devicescoresmax4pnp.exe to which I agreed. Nothing happened and there was no reboot required. Then using the MB CD I installed all the Creative Stuff. NOW I have the "SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio Volume Panel" in my tooltray as I do in XP but it doesn't do anything.
When I choose MIXER I get " No Supported audio device App will close"When I choose Karaoke Player "Audio device for this app not detected."When I choose Console Launcher " No supported audio device available close app."When I choose Audio Console " Device supported by this app not detected close app."So in effect, I am no further along than I was with the default Windows 7 driver settings.I don't know why I had to register the SoundMax card or software if it won't function!I even tried a re-install of the drivers themselves after I had all the Creative stuff installed and that did no good. I am back to square one with it all <sigh>What to do now? The SoundMax HD soundcard shows up in Device Manager so it clearly knows it's there and yes I have sound but only at the most basic level. I need control of the bass and treble at the very least.
just upload 2 image to easy to know it

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm at the end of my rope with my volume issue. I'm running Win 7 64 Pro with a Creative X-FI Gamer card (latest drivers).
The issue: Master volume keeps resetting to 30%. Noticed it happens when I bring my PC out of standby, and when I run certain apps like Creative's sound panel. I've tried the "Do Nothing" option on the Comms tab, and also tried unchecking the Exclusive Mode options which give apps direct control over the sound card. Nothing works.
Is there a way to set the master volume in the registry and/or create a task which runs periodically to adjust the volume to where I want it?
