My sound mixer is not remember the settings I give to individual programs after they close and reopen. Say a game for instance, if I put the volume to 20% in the sound mixer and then exit the game, then go back on the game and check the volume in sound mixer.Instead of it saying 20% still and remembering it resets the volume to 100%.
This is a weird issue I'm having. I did a restart and when I came back BF3 wasnt playing any sounds, which is weird because it was just working. I went to make sure it wasnt muted in the mixer, and I see the weirdest thing.
The application "System Sound" is disapearing in and out very quickly, not only in the mixer but In devices as well
What can I do to fix it? Maybe reinstall Windows 7 sound drivers?
Windows 7 Home, x64 I was starting a game (Trackmania United) and it froze and nothing was responding so I held the power button and restarted. When it powered on and i went into Windows i noticed everything had gone back to default, the background was different, system colors, nothing on Taskbar or Start Menu. Now I can't have permanent settings, for instance I like the System Tray to have all icons showing all the time, but when I restart it only shows icons that are actively used and i must click an arrow to see background icons that are not in use but are still running. I also cannot pin Shortcuts to the taskbar, when I right click an open program and click 'Pin to Taskbar' it simply does not allow me to click this, literally I can not click this option. I am the admin of the computer and only use on it.
Brand new HP Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium machine just out of the box. Shipped with a dial-up modem and NO wireless adapter (DUH!). Installed an EnGenius USB wireless adapter which set up without a hitch. Went through the process of connecting to the internet. Was able to get online and surf-- no problems.
The problem is that Windows 7 will not retain the wireless settings, and EVERY SINGLE TIME that I boot up the machine I have to go through the WHOLE PROCESS of opening Network Sharing Center, searching for my wireless home network, typing in the security code, and establishing the connection ONCE AGAIN. Why won't Windows 7 remember the wireless settings??? This is most frustrating! IF I open the "Manage Wireless Networks" panel there are NO NETWORKS listed! I have run Windows update.
The Services console I use all the time. To go through and change everything every time is ridiculous including window size. I tried (using the hidden Admin account) choosing Author mode, un-checking the "do not save changes" check box, but the O/S won't allow change the services.msc file. I even tried to rename the file, which did save, but only limited changes were saved. W/O using a 3rd party program (which seems to be the only way anything can get changed with Windows 7), how can something that was easy (by changing the attribute) be remembered??
I am trying to set a default view for all folders, such that when I change the view in an explorer window, it will only take effect for the current explorer window, and will not be saved. Or even better, let me choose when I want to save a view setting as default for the current folder. I do not want to keep resetting my folder view. In Windows 98/XP it was possible.
So, I have a class "A" IP Subnet in my home and a class "C" subnet. one is outside the "corporate" firewall and one is inside. My Laptop wireless always loves to obtain the 10.0.0.1 which is the ISA router/firewall. Obviously there is an IP conflict here because the TMG/ISA server/GATEWAY already has that..
This only happens after a reboot and the IP settings that it "desires" are the following: IP: 10.0.0.1 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.1.1 DNS: 192.168.1.1
It should be.... IP: 10.0.0.101 Subnet Mask: 255.0.0.0 Gateway: 10.0.0.1 DNS: 10.0.0.4 = MY DNS DNS: 10.0.0.5 = MY DNS
Should I delete the network controller, or do I have to delve into the registry to get this crap sorted out? The Laptop ALWAYS connects to the N router but has a problem assigning the IP where it will just assign a bad IP or "first ip" in the sequence. There are times that I need to get beyond the firewall, and I need to assign it a class "c" but I don't understand why this should be having a bearing upon future connections. I have repeatedly reset the "arp" and DNS; to no avail.
I have typed this command at my last chance: "netsh int ip reset c: esetlog.txt"
The Volume Mixer in Windows 7 is supposed to show applications that are running sound, right? Well, mine shows some applications, like Firefox and Guild Wars 2 and Mozilla Thunderbird and KMPlayer. But it doesn't show volume for other applications that use sound like Winamp and ePSXe (playstation emulator). I'm playing Final Fantasy VIII on ePSXe and the game doesn't have a volume control itself for, say, music and/or sound effects. And I'd like to be able to turn down the sound on the emulator game so that the game volume doesn't intermingle with my music in the background played by Winamp. Is there a way I can add these applications to the Volume Mixer? Or, alternatively, is there a freeware/opensource program that will allow me to adjust the volume of individual programs?I am new here so hopefully I have done everything right. I was going to try to list my system specs here in this thread but I followed the link at the top of this Post New Thread page and filled out my System Specs according to the walkthrough.
right, you know where you can adjust the sound volume, you know, in the bottom right corner by the time! well, whenever i go to change the volume, i often get a window pop up that says 'not responding'
My sound mixer was working fine, then all of a sudden one day it stopped working. I have no idea why. i dont know if its a software issue or hardware issue. the mic is disabled and the sound mixer is enabled, i disabled it and reenabled it and it still didnt work, i went into the properties and everything is where it should be (volume, ect) i checked the actual mixer down by the clock and that sound was fine on everything to! the speakers are working video is working so i dont think its any of my cards and i hear the audio fine, theres nothing wrong otherwise. i feel like maybe its muted somewhere bc when i tried the mic that didnt work either.but i looked in every possible spot i even tried to update the drivers but nothing needed updating.
It just happened out of nowhere. My sound was working fine last night, then this morning I played a video and there was no sound. I clicked the volume icon in the task bar to see if I could hear the 'ping' when you adjust volume but it repeatedly froze and crashed (it's still doing this now after rebooting). Sound in control panel also crashes first thing when I try to open it. I want my sound back.
Windows 7 32-bit won't play sound.Device ManagerSound, video and game controllersHigh Definition Audio Device ok.Double click and window says:High Definition Audio Device PropertiesGeneral: Device status says This device is working properly.Speakers are plugged in and make a crackle when plugging in to correct holes.
I have personalized Window's sound settings so that I only get sounds when I want them for certain occurrences. However, there are times when the sound settings just revert back to Window's default sound settings. No problem resetting my sounds, but it is annoying when the sounds, for no apparent reason, revert back to default.
Windows is remembering my passwords for the most part, however I had one place that I had entered the incorrect password and now it (Windows) will not remember that password. What do I need to do to get it to remember the password again?
Windows 7 does not remember/save wireless networks even though I check "connect automatically" when I connect. In the Manage Wireless Networks control panel ONLY the current wireless network I connected to is ever listed. If I connect to another wireless network then that previous network is gone from the list.
I just got a new PC yesterday with Win7. The Windows Action Center keeps popping up with a warning asking that I "Choose a Windows Update option." I select "Install Updates automatically," but the Windows Action Center does not remember my selection and then about an hour later will pop back up with the same warning.
I'm having lots of problems with Windows 7 64-bit.
One of them is that my sound settings (volume, bass, surround sound, etc...) are being reset every reboot.
I'm using the Creative X-fi Xtreme Gamer sound card with the latest Windows 7 64-bit drivers from their site. I've disable UAC, messed around with permissions and nothing seems to work. I have to go into the audio settings every time I reset!
Recently I was setting up a VPN client (PacketIX), and the setup wizard suggested some Audio/Video Streaming "Optimization" tweaks. I didn't pay attention and confirmed.Since then, I often hear some crackling / popping noises. For instance, this systematically occurs when I Alt/Tab between a running game and my desktop. An obvious guess is that the damn VPN client messed up some sound settings, but I can't figure out what to do. I've found a good deal of DPC latency workarounds around here which I tried in vain.
I recently upgraded to IE 9, however due to compatibility with some web programs for work I had to roll back to IE 8. I also encountered a profile issue and I lost all my saved username and passwords in IE. My IE 8 is now not asking to save usernames and passwords and it had in the past. I have searched the internet and everyone says make sure it is set up to remember username and passwords... by going to Internet Options > Content > AutoComplete> Settings. I have all the boxed checked. I have triple checked it. I looked in the IntelliForms in the registry as another website suggested and nothing is there.
Upon Windows startup, I hear music/noise/interviews (Sometimes two completely different sounds at the same time) Under the title "Windows Media Center Diagnostic" in the mixer.Just wandering how to get rid of it. It's getting increasingly annoying. I listen to music through the Line-in which is why the levels are the same as the "Windows Media Center Diagnostic".
I log onto a site using IE9 (for some reason this particular site doesn't work properly on other browsers) and it kept remembering my username and password. I went into the internet options and changed the the autocomplete setting to not remember passwords or data added in forms, as well as for cookies. I also deleted the browsing history for those fields (pwd, form data, cookies, history). The browser still remembers the info however, and auto logs me in.
First of all I do have the "Remember passwords for sites" checked. I was able to get it to remember a few PWs when I first got the computer but now FF won't have a popup asking if I want to remember the PWs. What can be causing this?
I have Windows 7 64 bit OS. Presently I am using IE8 and many of the sites (but not all) does not show the popup asking if you want to save the User name and passwordThe ones that do work fine and the login information is retained but most of the guitar and bass forums I have been on for years do not retain the information.Machines with Windows XP are fine. I have tried IE 9, Chrome, Safari. They all reat the same way which lead me to believe it is an OS problem. The Talkbass.com admin tried toith this but ended up stating "it must be a Windows 7 64 bit problemr shed some light on this problem. It is so tireing re-entering every time you bring up Internet Explorer to view the forum. Facebook works fine. I am at a loss here.
I have some technical difficulty in fixing the Realtek Driver. I recently bought the ASUS P8P67 motherboard (BIOS version 1204) and installed the provided Audio driver that came with the box which is version 6.0.1.6196. Other specs displayed in Realtek info page is
DirectX version 11.0 Audio Controler : HD Audio Audio Codec: ALC892
I am running Window 7 Ultimate on x64 bits with the Sandy Bridge i7-2600 core. Noise Suppression and Acoustic Echo cancellation are disabled.
My problem with this driver is that from time to time, the volume on the Realtek mixer drops down immediately as shown on the screenshot.
Also, to certain programs that I am using, like Battlefield 2, the volume keeps resetting to very low even though I set it to volume level 28 before I closed the program. When I stop the recording or I closed the Midomi website (from screenshot), the tab drags back itself to 28 for iTune and the music played back at normal volume
How can I disable Realtek from keeping resetting my volume to low for the programs that I am using? Is this a bug? I tried reinstalling it did not fixed the issue. I tried putting the system volume to 28, and tried recording but the bug still exists.
I tried looking around the forum, but it seems to all point to the BIOS. My BIOS has been cleared which indicated clearing it again will not fix the problem.
Running windows 7 64-bit. Having trouble with opening my volume mixer. Does not open at all from taskbar or when i try from control panel>sounds. Ive tried looking up this problem on google, but I can never get mine solved. My speakers and headphones still work, but i need to take out the usb from the headphones each time i want to switch where the sound comes out from. Ive tried restarting my comp. Also validated files in sys32 folder from admin cmd. I just dont want to have to run a system restore to open this up.
I've searched around on the net for anyone else that might have this problem, but no luck. The program is a game called Shores of Hazeron, the sound works fine, apart from the fact it isn't showing up in the volume mixer, and the game doesn't have any volume controls in its in-game settings. Which can be a bit annoying when you have the rumbling of a starship in your ear when you're trying to listen to music.
I have Windows 7 Pro SP1 32 bit laptop. It's a ThinkPad Lenovo T60p by IBM.I've been searching google for ever and ever but I cannot find a fix.I found this via Google: forum.thinkpads.com - Stereo Re-mix thread (was T61/p Sound Recording?)And I have no idea what it means but it looks like it has some information on this subject.
