I keep having to reinstall Windows 7 64 bit and it's a pain in the butt to have to reinstall all the drivers, updates, etc.Is there a way to update my windows 7 disc and put in all the drivers and updates so that if I have to reinstall Windows 7, all I gotta do is move files to the hard drive and reinstall programs?
View 2 RepliesI have windows 7 installed on a PC I built a little over a year ago. I recently upgraded to the windows 8 consumer preview, but I didn't like it so I'm trying to switch back. When I install windows it works fine, I can turn my computer off and on as many times as I want and it will be fine, but if I install any video card drivers or any of the updates that windows tells me to install, the next time it boots up I either get the windows splash screen or a black screen right after it says, "welcome to windows", or whatever it says. I have tried installing only my video card driver, I have tried installing only one of the recommended updates, but no matter what I install it doesn't work the next time it boots, so this isn't a problem with one specific driver.The only thing I have changed since I had windows 7 installed before is that I got a new SSD, but I'm still using my old drive as well. I have tried installing on the SSD while the other drive is unplugged and I have tried to install windows on my original HD while my solid state drive is unplugged. I have tried installing on both, nothing works. I have formatted both several times. I have also tried installing both 32 and 64 bit versions, both to the same effect.

Now downloading all the updates is very frustrating, but I have been advised to use a piece of software called Macrium Reflect, which basically copies the complete hard drive, so you have a perfect back up.So my plan is to make a fresh install of windows, update Windows fully, and them make an exact image of that hard drive. What I then plan to do, is install this copy onto all the laptops (Using the unique windows key), which basically saves me wasting hours per laptop updating.My problem is, when you format a laptop, some drivers are already installed, where others are not. I do not know exactly what determines why some drivers are already installed and some are not, but anyway, if I took the complete image of the hard drive, of lets say a Toshiba laptop, then put all that data on to an Acer laptop for example, would I get conflict between already installed drivers?
By this, I would not install any manually downloaded drivers onto the Toshiba until after the image is taken, meaning the only drivers moved between laptops are the pre-installed ones.
is it possible to make a Windows 7 boot disc from scratch? By scratch I mean, I want all the programs I currently have installed on my PC and some items in my secondary drives to be there too, in other words, can I take my current Windows AND the programs/items I have on my drives, and put them together as one installation, so that when I format my computer and reinstall Windows, my basic programs, like Photoshop, After Effects, etc, are still there, so there is no worry about downloading it? That's my main point, I have to install Windows 7 and the programs I have in like 30 computers, it would take forever if I ALSO have to download programs like Photoshop, I don't have the best internet in town anyways.

I can't understand why I even need them, as I uninstalled net framework. Notice how the update at 8:17 AM., KB2656368, is the same as one of the 4 updates installed at 7:47 PM. Windows wants to install the same four kb files again.How do I stop this?

When i plug in a new usb device, windows is supposed to look for updates to install the device right ? well in my case, it doesn't and i'm not able to access the pen-drive. On the other hand, if i try toplug in an old and previously used pen drive, it works perfectly.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed 285.62 P08 Nvidia Driver from the Dell webpage two days ago and it was fine and everything was good after the restart from the installation. After finishing up my session, I noticed that there is a window update so I shut down and left the computer to do the updating on it's own. Today, I switched on my computer to look at my timetable for today and after that put it to sleep mode.
After "waking" it up, I was met with a BSOD after like 5 minutes of use. I then decided to system restore to before i did the updates. It still BSOD albeit it took a longer time before that happened. Right now im using Safe mode + Networking to type this message out. (The computer does not seem to BSOD in safe mode so far). I did the steps listed but I could not get the perfmon step working. "An error occurred while attempting to generate the report".

I am building a new computer and have all the parts except for my video card (gtx 670 when it comes in stock...). Now, I have heard that I shouldn't do windows updates before installing the drivers for my video card. However, if I go ahead and set everything up except for my video card and let windows update do its thing - will there be any problems for me when I can finally buy my video card and install it?

I am curious if it would be easier or ideal to create an installation disk/usb with all the added windows updates and drivers for my system(if possible)? Originally I had Windows Vista Ultimate and then upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate. So, I have the original install disk for Vista and an upgrade disk for 7. I am unable to connect to MSE to get updates or to Windows to get updates. I have run Malwarebytes and Emsisoft and neither one can find a bug. My samsung series 7 has a samsung application that lets me create a disc with all my drivers. I wish i had known this before i got a virus/malware infection because the laptop didnt come with a disc on its own.
I am wondering, if i use this utility to create this disc will driver files have a chance of being damaged/corrupt?
I can't find any disc title printer manufacturers that have a 64 bit driver for download for their little title printers. I have a casio CW-E60 and want to use it with my windows 7 64bit operating system.

I was trying to completely restore my system using factory discs. I upgraded my ProBook 4525s from 32 to 64 bit. because of all the problems I've been having, I tried putting on the 32 bit version again... well somehow I'm miss a whole lot of stuff. I'm not super computer savy, but figured that i've bdone it in the past, I can do it again. Well the first thing I noticed is that my wireless isn't working. So I go to HP website and try and download some different drivers. Nothing is working and when I try to open and install anything downloaded it doesn't work properly. Went to update my bios and it needs F.0A which I can't download because I don't have a burning software that is compatible. Why I need to burn something to disc when I want to download it directly I don't understand..
