Nov 3, 2011my dvd does not quickly read disc. It takes time, you have to load and eject for several times before it can read the disc. the disc will spin and then stop. what is the possible problem.

Feb 22, 2010Over the last month I have been having problems with my computer. About 2 weeks after I installed a new piece of hardware (an ATI TV Wonder 650 pcie to be precise) my keyboard started acting funny. Sometimes it would randomly turn off. Other times it would randomly type slashes. After about 2 days of that I started getting blue screens when using flash player. Things gradually got worse until I couldn't even access a file without a blue screen. Throughout that time I attempted to figure out the problem, but couldn't.
Today I finally reinstalled Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Things were going rather well, except that windows was having trouble recognizing the tv tuner card, but everything was running well regardless. I left the house with my computer running for about an hour and when I returned my computer had blue-screened and restarted itself. I took out the tuner card hoping it was the problem, but a while later the computer again blue screened while doing a restart.

Jan 30, 2013I am experiencing problems with my computer. I'm building a new rig, but have not got it finished yet, so I'm trying to use my Compaq Presario until I have the final pieces to my new rig. I popped in my GPU and tried to boot into Windows 7 one day, after having used Ubuntu for three weeks straight, now I get a blue screen at start up, when I have the GPU in, that says I should try to reset the device display [it goes too fast for me to catch anything else].
Safe mode works, but I have no internet connection to be able to download anything that I might need. I also checked the device manager through Safe Mode and my GPU is update to date. I'll post the log files and the GPU at the end. The card was working before, so I'm not sure what happened. Here are some things I tried via online searching including this forum:
Reinstall Windows completely
Uninstall NVIDIA drivers, reboot, and reinstall
Not update GPU drivers
Switching the BIOS to my GPU slot
GPU: GeForce Sparkle 6600 LE 256mb

Sep 27, 2012I was trying to completely restore my system using factory discs. I upgraded my ProBook 4525s from 32 to 64 bit. because of all the problems I've been having, I tried putting on the 32 bit version again... well somehow I'm miss a whole lot of stuff. I'm not super computer savy, but figured that i've bdone it in the past, I can do it again. Well the first thing I noticed is that my wireless isn't working. So I go to HP website and try and download some different drivers. Nothing is working and when I try to open and install anything downloaded it doesn't work properly. Went to update my bios and it needs F.0A which I can't download because I don't have a burning software that is compatible. Why I need to burn something to disc when I want to download it directly I don't understand..

The cloning process went fine but when I went to boot on the 640gb drive I (expectantly) got a blue screen error. Now, the way to fix this would be to boot into safe mode and delete the drivers but for some reason every time I boot and press the f8 button it brings me into the Windows Error Recovery mode menu which has no options for safe mode and doesn't help at all.
