How To Display Windows 7 Long Date Format CORRECTLY

There seems to be a bug in Windows 7 (as well as 8, from what I'm told) which causes the long date to be displayed with the day of the week all in lower case, such as "monday". I don't know what a "monday" is, the word does not exist either in my English dictionary or in my annotations of the grammar lessons I took back in primary school, as a child.How can I fix this bug so that days of the week are displayed in their grammatically correct and proper form, such as "Monday" (the first letter being capitalized) ?

I have a weird issues with the long date format in Win 7. I like displaying the long date in the system tray beneath the clock and did it easily by changing the short date format to be like the long one (dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy). However, the long display date disappeared today but the extra space used by it is still there and if I change it back to the short one (MM/d/yyyy) it works fine. This is the first time this ever happened and I've been using long dates since RC without any issues. At first I thought it was the security updates installed these days but after uninstalling them the problem wasn't fixed.
Edit: after some more fiddling i found out the problem is with "today". The long date would be "Wednesday, August 04, 2010" and it apparently too long to display because dddd, MMM dd, yyyy (instead of MMMM) which is "Wednesday, Aug 04, 2010" works fine. So it's a minor bug in Win7. There seems to be a maximum allowed space for displaying the date which is strange since there's plenty of room on the taskbar (1680*1050 res on 22" screen) and the taskbar is not locked.

I am running Windows 7 premium. The taskbar/notification/clock area @ the bottom of my desktop is huge, like nearly an inch. The Time, Day and Date are one below the other. This takes up so much space especially when u have multiple toolbars, address bar etc @ the top not 2 mention the additional loss of space (of nothingness) @ the top. Leaves less working space than I'm happy with. How do I gain back the use of that half inch in the taskbar?Is it possible 2 gain back the lost area @ the top as well?.I have already gone to Properties and changed the settings there (use small icons). It made no difference at all.

In what format are date and time of logged events in .evtx files? How can I find and translate them when I look at the file content with a hex viewer? (File seems to be corrupt. Can't open it with the Windows event viewer.)

It says it goes with the date and time format of you're os, my os has been changed to short date dd/MM/yyyy and the long date to dd MMMM yyyy. I done this through change date and time settings>calender settings. But the printer is still making a subfolder with date as so 2013_01_23 I want it to be 23_01_2013 is there something I am doing wrong?

I am running Windows Home Premium on a HP a1624n computer. I was trying to find a file the other day and what I did was sort a folder contents in My Documents by date modified to find the file. Great! I found the file I was looking for. The problem is, now the My Documents folder is not displayed correctly and I can't figure out how to fix it to display correctly. For example folder names in My Documents are:Word Docs, System Stuff, ## Outlook, My Scans, Temporary Copy Spot, Nexus One Related etc.These are displayed in that order. By my question, I want the folders displayed in order by name meaning the list above should be Left to Right:## Outlook Files, My Scans, Nexus One Related, Temporary Copy Spot, Word Docs etc. If I select : Arrange by Name, I see a list of all files inside of all the folders. If I select Arrange by Folders, I see the list folders in the incorrect order I have listed above. If I select any other option, I am presented with file lists of all files in all the folders in My Documents.How do I get this fixed to display correctly? I haven't tried a system restore as these files are personal files and System Restore doesn't touch them. My neighbor's laptop hdd seemed not to be working right, he had left the laptop in the closet for 2 years anyway, so it seemed not a loss to run a utility that might bring the hdd back [might not], so I started the low level hdd pre-format from a disc I had been given.
That was about a month ago, and the 250 gb hdd is still not done. Should it really take this long, or is the hdd totalled?

Windows 7 installed without any problems, and found all the hardware devices, but the only problem I have is that the monitor will only dislplay at 1920x1080. If you lower it , the monitor will not display a full screen. Tried all resolutions, and have the latest 191 drivers. Any ideas..

I have a problem running Patran 2007 in Windows 7, the program seems to run fine, and I am able to open data bases and work on them. The problem comes in when I want to either save the database, open a new database or just open a current database. For each of these functions a new smaller window pops up so I can navigate to the correct file or path to click on it or whatever.
Initially the window opens as I would expect, but as soon as I move the mouse or try to use the keyboard to navigate, the window goes blank and I can do nothing with it. Strangely, using the compatibility setting to open the program in a 640x480 display, they do seem to work fine, but because of the small resolution, I cannot actually see the part of the window where the files are - so that also doesn't help me.
It seems as though there is something between Patran and Windows that one of them don't like, but it baffles me that everything else works fine. If any one else has had the same problem, maybe with a different program even, let me know what you did to resolve it. Otherwise any advise would be useful.

Have set the correct time zone, set the date and time, and within half an hour, the time jumps ahead significantly. Time then continues jumping periodically, and date as well. Any patch available for this?

I ripped my personal CD collection to .WAV as I have the space and thought it was best quality. I used WMP.Everything ripped fine.for a while, the first song of each album kept 'losing' its track information. I would use the Find Album Info feature of WMP to fix this. Track info currently displays perfect in Windows Media Player Library or when browing using Windows Media Center.However, if I view the files in Windows Explorer, or use another program like Winamp to play the files (which i generally prefer), the first track of all my ripped CDs in WAV format has no track information, Unknown Album, title, etc... even tho' it displays fine in WMP Library.I cannot EDIT the track in Windows Explorer, and I can't find a track editor freeware that supports .WAV. Why? Do I need to re-rip everything in .MP3? This also ruins my ability to copy the files to my phone, as the first track is missing information on copy/conversion.

Just had a new computer made up using Windows 64bit OS. I installed the old disc drive from my failing old computer as a slave drive, which I was using XP on a 32bit system expecting it was going to be easy to retieve all my data files. What a mistake that is turning out to be !!! Does anyone out there know how I can do this ? The files where password protected is this causing the problem? I guess I have the option of taking the drive out and re-installing it in the old system and then try to download the data into something useable for the new system.

If I use a commercial software like Drive Scrubber to clean my HD, will a Win 7 Upgrade Discboot ? I want to eliminate any possible virus/malware. Is there any advantage to using commercial software to format, or is the reinstall format listed in the tutorials as effective? My concern is that Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 (KIS) had corrupted data bases and after removal and reinstallation did not perform well. I could not download anything, e.g. CCleaner and received Certificate Error questions on certain websites. Also, I would like a fresh registry to insure previous programs like Chrome, Firefox, KIS, remnants are eliminated.

I have a asus N61 about 7months old. running windows 7.
For the last few months the Date keeps randomly changing, usually the actual time is correct, but the date keeps changing at random intervals, sometimes it wont happen for a few weeks, then it might happen every couple days. then nothing again for a week or 2. and usually it goes forwards about 4 or 5 days. sometimes back a few days.
don't post anything about CMOS, As this is a new laptop, so it shouldn't be the cmos battery, ALSO it doesn't happen every time i turn the laptop off, so i doubt a old cmos battery would work sometimes and not others.

"date modified" field does not update when files are replaced in a zip folder while running Windows 7 64-bit.
Data files are stored in zip files and utilized daily. At the days end the files are replaced with the most current revision. The updated file displays the correct "date modified", however when the filed is transfered into the zip file, the "date modified" displayed within the zip file does not update.
I don't have this problem with Windows XP or 2000. Is there some hidden setting that is needed for Windows 7 to recognize file modification dates just as every version prior?
It becomes frustrating that Microsoft continues to add nice new fancy operating features, but yet continuously fails to ensure the basic functions are maintained.
