View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought my new computer about 3-4 months ago but the other day it decided to stop saving web history. It will show some pages but not all. If it does save, it will save the initial page but nothing after that. Normally when opening a website, a bar will appear above the taskbar at the bottom of the screen that says 'Website found, Waiting for reply...' on the left hand side and 100% on the right, etc., that bar is no longer appearing. I've check the internet options part and the 'delete browsing history on exit' is unchecked. Disk space is set at 250 and days at 20. I'm running windows 7, IE 9.

I know it wasn't malware, but that's not the point Is there a way to make cmd.exe copy all it's output to a text file automatically or something similar that I could use to check back on what my system did there?I already checked google, it said there's "no way". Only with powershell, but that's not exactly what I want because I don't really do a lot of that stuff, but I'd come back to it, if nobody knows anything else.

After 2-3 weeks, Internet Explorer starts randomly choosing to disclude sites from its history, before reaching a point where it simply stops recording history. Yes, I HAVE all the settings properly adjusted so that it does not delete history upon exit, has an entire gigabyte of disk space reserved just for history, 400 days set to keep history, and it still ends up being a bi-monthly thing of me having to delete the history.

I've tried CWShredder (says it doesn't exist on my computer). I've tried Spybot (which I did first) (showed coolwebsearch when it did a scan, then supposedly deleted it). I've tried Malware anti-bytes. I tried to try Stopzilla and Spyware Doctor, but they make you pay for it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo for a while, windows updates have been causing BSODs on my PC, usually I just go and remove them via safe mode and all is well again. Well last night, after doing that, my PC BSOD'd and on rebooting found that several things were bad. First, the start orb didn't work and I couldn't pull up the start menu. All the text is gone from my desktop icons, the date and time is missing, all the items within control panel and My computer are a jumbled mess of random lines and boxes, so that means I cannot do anything in Windows explorer or control panel. This happens even within safe mode. So far, I have tried doing a system restore, sfc /scannow, startup repair and rebooting in last known good configuration. Nothing I've tried has been successful in solving this issue. View 2 Replies View RelatedI changed via the dialog the TEXT SIZE via the screen resolution in the control panel to CUSTOM SIZE.With one of the newer "Cinema" or Very Wide screen (1680 X 900) displays after I'd increased the text size to over 160 % I didn't get the possibility to SAVE any documents any more via the SAVE AS button. The SAVE dialog would appear but the SAVE button was missing.The effect was noticed in Office 2007 (all programs) Notepad etc etc.Seems to be a Windows fault as this should not be allowed to happen.on more traditional "Squarer" type monitors -- no problem.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen installing windows 7 Home Edition 64bit, my computer finishes the "Copying Windows files" in 1 second, and then goes off to the "Expanding Windows files" part. Once it is at 50%(every time), my computer says an error code and a message about corrupt files ect(Error code: 0x80070570). I have been struggling after trying to format my desktop for a clean install of Windows 7 Home Edition 64bit. changing modes from SATA to AHCI, cancelling the install and without rebooting restart the install, and putting down the graphics to 640x480. It has been quite a pain and ruined my weekend and I was hoping that someone else could propose a new solution since nothing has worked. Instead of using a cd, I am using a USB(changing boot priority in the bios to USB, changing the USB to NTFS format ect...), since I currently do not have a SATA CD reader. I have been getting Windows Shell Common DLL crashes when accessing and modifying properties in my Sound Panel. (I recently connected my SPDIF out to my receiver;I've also been having trouble getting my headphones to work again, but that's another problem) It's shown up in my Reliability Monitor and I've had the "Critical Event" "Windows Shell Common Dll" "Stopped Working" and it has reduced my reliability score from 10 to about 2. When I "Check for a solution" it says there aren't any available. I've checked all drivers and they are up to date. Any idea how to fix this? I've done alot of searching, and all i could find was one guy dl'ing a new SFComm64.dll file and replacing it in his system, which he said worked, but Windows 7 saw as a security threat (?). So, I'm not quite sure what to do - do I try and dl a new SFComm64.dll file? And if so, where do I dl from?
