I am addicted to this game but if I just uninstall, it's gone forever and sometime in the future I might want it back. Alternately, if I knew how to password protect it, I could have someone else choost the password.
Playing Spider Solitaire recently I found that the game had speeded up. The deals were displayed instantaneously, which makes it easy to deal twice without realising it. The only change I remember is that I had installed Java VM for a game that required it. That has now been uninstalled, although the Windows Games problem (it is the same with the other card games) remains.
I have the same symptoms as Orpheus2000 posted in November 2011. Unfortunately for me, that thread ended without any apparent resolution. I've tried everything suggested yet Spider Solitaire still won't show the animation. When I go to 'options' the 'show animation' option is checked but greyed out
My wife dose not enjoyed the new version of spider solitaire in windows 7 and we are wondering if there is some way to download the old version onto our new Dell Ispiron computer.
I am running Windows 7 Professional. All the shortcuts (on desktop, on start menu & on taskbar) are showing a spider solitaire image; when clicked upon spider solitaire starts up. However, when I click on properties for a shortcut the correct target address shows (i.e. not the address for spider solitaire but for the intended target of the shortcut).
I am running Windows 7 professional. All shortcuts are showing the spider solitaire image, although the properties show the correct url and the name of the shortcut is correct. When I click on a shortcut spider solitaire starts up. How can I fix this situation so that shortcuts work correctly?
I have a newer HP laptop that I have been playing Spider Solitaire on frequently without problems for the past six months. This week, out of the blue, any card moves are taking 7-13 seconds to complete. I then tried regular Solitaire and it is having the same problem. This obviously makes playing these games impossible. These are the fixes I have tried so far:
1. Update graphics card driver - states I am using the most current driver.
2. Ran sfc /scannow to search for corrupted files - can was OK.
3. Tried turning games features off then back on in the control panel - no help.
My wife really likes the windows 7 version and would like to have that version on our second (older) computer which runs XP. Is it possible to copy the 7 version to XP?
I have a client who has gotten a new computer (win 7) with a new version of solitaire. The problem is that his voice recognition won't work properly with this version and he would like to use the old win xp version which was customized to work with his speech recognition.
I have and HP SimpleSave 1TB it plugs in to the USB. I recently tried to delete some files and folders but am unable to do so. I only have files and folders, no Windows backup or restore points. When I try to delete a file or folder I get this message, "Can't read from the source file or disk". Which is strange because I can open files.
I am looking to delete the information from when I save a picture from the net. Like when you click picture save as and it opens a new box and you type in the new file name...The file name is what i'm trying to delete. I tried cleaning the browser and used ccleaner but didn't help.
I have a saved password to enter my godaddy.com website. I have now changed that password, but it still wants to remember it when I enter my user ID. How can I delete this saved password and save the new one?
How to delete history from save as common dialogue box drop down present on the top just before the refresh button. various discussion shown only clear history from save as list present in the bottom from save as list.
I just received my new Toshiba Satellite laptop. It has Windows 7, and the first thing I did was go to download Firefox so I could get rid of IE.I want to save the Firefox program in Program Files, where I always used to save programs, and it tells me I "don't have permission" to save and would I like to save to the downloads folder instead. This is making me crazy, as I'm the ONLY user on the computer, it's brand new, and I should have the "administrator" permissions! How in the heck do I make it able for me to be the administrator/have access to everything? I should install/uninstall immediately to protect myself regarding this new laptop, What is the best anti-spyware out there these days? And someone told me I should NOT use Norton. My laptop came with it--should I automatically uninstall it?
I cant seem to save any file every time I download a program from the internet to my c drive (specifically under program file folder)- keep on prompting need permission from the administrator. I tried the cmd command still not working.
Is there a way to force Windows to save a programs progress (ie a rendering program such as Revit) and restart, similar to the actions it takes before the computer shuts down after the battery has died?
I've recently gotten windows 7, so I am still getting used to it. I have downloaded an old mmo game I used to have on winxp. But I can't install it. When I left click it locks up and says "not responding" and the same happens when I right click it. Which means I can't even delete it.
OK, I was installing some x64 plugs yesterday and the default installer wasn't pointing to the right folder so i manually typed the correct pathc:Program filesSteinbergVST pluginsAll seemed to go well until I looked at my C drive, I now have two identical folders saying Program files.c:Program filesc:Program filesc:Program files (x86)I've changed permissions and taken full control and tried to delete the new one but it i get an error message saying the folder isn't empty.I've tried everything I can think of including safe mode etc but can't for the life of me delete this double folder. If I use the CMD line then it lists both folders with exactly the same name so I've no idea which one is the bogus one to try and delete from there.I tried system restore and still the two folders came back again!!The bogus folder is showing 0 file size and if I open it and try and open a folder inside i get an error message saying the file isn't in that location but I cant get rig of the bloody thin
I have Windows 7 Home basic 64 Bit OS.I have lots of applications installed, out of which every applications folders are stored on both Program files and Program files (X86) Folder.I am not going to use 32 bit OS in future. So can I delete folders from Program files (x86) Folder directly ?
