I have been doing some cleaning recently, and in the startup section of msconfig, startup options for programs that I deleted are still there. They're disabled, but how do I get rid of them from the list completely?.

Next day he told me this at first worked right, but after another system start, he said the system got unstable with error dialog boxes showing up. My friend says he enabled all those programs back in msconfig > staI've learned a lesson: no matter how insignificant a change to a system, do a system backup, but...isn't it surprising that simply disabling a few programs not to start with windows can create such trouble?.

After I got through and did a clean install of Windows 7, I went and did all of my customizations, and I tried to modify the right-click menu using registry edits that I found online. They would add to the registry successfully, but would not appear in the right-click menu. I also tried to delete the graphic preferences, which worked, but after rebooting, they reappeared again. View 2 Replies View Related4 days ago we changed the security settings on our home router/network from WPA2- Personal TKIP+AES to just AES. I then changed my Asus UL80vt-A1 wireless adapter settings (Atheros AR9285) to match (from TKIP to AES).This was the ONLY change I made to the system.Then the fun began.
First off a new adapter appeared in my Network connections. It is Wireless Network Connection 2- Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter. Well, that was not there before I made the changes to the security settings. Googling results indicate it is a normal part of Windows 7, it really had never been there before.Restarting the computer the wireless adapter shows as disabled, and I have to run the network diagnostics to re-enable it. It does not matter if I do a shut down or hibernate (my preferred way of shutting down the laptop before going somewhere).
So I thought I should change the security settings back to what I had (TKIP+AES) and set my notebook to TKIP. I also did a Windows Update just in case. I ran a scan with Avast Antivirus, Microsoft Security Essential and Malware Bytes to see if something evil had gotten in, all were clean.Now when I hibernate my laptop it takes 4-5 minutes to shutdown. When I restart it takes 4-5 minutes to restart. I am staring at the intro screen waiting for the logon to appear. Once I get logged in the wifi adapter appears connected, but the computer is acting like it is hung up until all the open programs have finished loading. I can't do anything until the 27 open tabs in Firefox have completely finished being restored. Takes another 3-4 minutes.
I've found 2 rather general purpose tools/utilities, that is: ShellMenuView and ShellExView for editing the CMIs in Windows 7. So, I got some questions.
1) Are there any "better" tools than those 2?
2) Are there any tools which combine Shell and Shell Extension editing in only ONE tool?
3) Are there any Win 7 build-in tools (Command line or GUI)?

So many errors and warnings in Boot performance monitoring.Take a look:what are these errors.One more thing that after entering password desktop appears after 15 seconds and taskbar and desktop icons appears after 1 or 2 minutes. Until then computer is unusable. But after then it become normal.

After disabling startup and services i was able to login in normal (selective)startup. My question is whether the entire list of ms corp services need to be enabled or should i select a core set . I changed the msconfig boot.ini /MAXMEM from its default (an uncheked box, but I presume 4096) to 256 while trying to get a program to load. Try to start computer in safe mode and it gets just so far and reboots. I set MSConfig to boot as safemode/minimal. Do that and restart.
