Cant Delete Pictures, Verify Items Location And Try Again?
Dec 22, 2012
I have some pics on my laptop i am trying to delete, whenever i try to delete i always get this message "Could not find this item.Verify the item's location and try again."I tried unlocker and lockhunter but they dont work and i tried to delete them in safemode.
I was extracting icons to add custom icons to my HTC Thunderbolt's framework, I extracted a huge folder to my desktop by accident and now I can't move or delete these icons on my desktop. It keeps saying..."Could not find this item, This is no longer located in C:\UsersMichaelDesktop. Verify the items location and try again"I've tried placing the file they originally came from on my desktop, moving them to the recycling bin, placing them in a new folder, rebooting and nothing works. I keep getting the message above.
I have been getting the error message " Cannot open multiple files from this location. Try selecting a single item instead"
This happens when i try to open multiple files on photoshop when i want to open pics from my camera's memory card. and now i noticed it when i tried to upload all my photos from my iphone to an album on snapfish.. I am using windows 7
I keep my photos in the Windows 7 Pictures Library on my laptop. The library is copied to a portable hard drive.
I recently collected some new photos on the portable drive and later dragged them to the corresponding folder on the computer. All OK until the computer was rebooted, when the new photos apparently vanished from the folder. A search showed that they were still there, and they became visible when the folder was dragged to the desktop. But they vanished again when it was replaced in the library.
I deleted the whole folder from the library and replaced it with the copy on the portable drive. All was well, including the new photos. But further photos imported from the portable drive still vanish as described.
This only seems to happen with the hard drive: individual photos imported from an SD card or copied to the library from other applications are OK.
Maybe I'll just have to collect new photos in a different way, or import the whole folder each time, but I'd be grateful for advice.
I have pictures in my picture gallery that I am trying to upload to a different program. Some of the ones I want to upload are not shown when I pull up my "Pictures" under my folder. I went to the "picture gallery" and thought I could drag them to the folder I want, but it will not let me. How to do this?
I just purchased an Asus K53E-BBR17 laptop a few days ago. After I got through and did a clean install of Windows 7, I went and did all of my customizations, and I tried to modify the right-click menu using registry edits that I found online. They would add to the registry successfully, but would not appear in the right-click menu. I also tried to delete the graphic preferences, which worked, but after rebooting, they reappeared again. I've searched the internet for a few days and have had no success in solving this.Steps I've taken so far:Clean install Windows 7 (twice)Modify permissions in both regedit itself and individual registry itemsSpecs:Asus K53E-BBR17 LaptopCore i5-2450M processorIntel HD3000 Graphics 8 GB G.SKILL RAMSeagate Momentus XT 750 GB HDD/SSD hybrid driveWindows 7 ProfessionalOne thing to note is that my old laptop had the exact same HDD, RAM, and OS and I had no issues on that. I also had no issues using the right-click edits on my desktop.
I have been doing some cleaning recently, and in the startup section of msconfig, startup options for programs that I deleted are still there. They're disabled, but how do I get rid of them from the list completely?.
I have two folders on one of my external drives. When I double click them, I am told they are empty but when I try to delete them, I get the following message:"Could not find this item" "This is no longer located in G:\. Verify the item's location and try again"How can I remove these folders?
I've found 2 rather general purpose tools/utilities, that is: ShellMenuView and ShellExView for editing the CMIs in Windows 7. So, I got some questions.
1) Are there any "better" tools than those 2?
2) Are there any tools which combine Shell and Shell Extension editing in only ONE tool?
3) Are there any Win 7 build-in tools (Command line or GUI)?
The problem is that if a folder contains a .exe file (either in its root or in a subfolder) then it is impossible to delete the folder without first navigating inside it and any subfolders that it may have and manually deleting every .exe file. This problem exists with all folders regardless of location (any drive, any folder or subfolder).I'm already using the Hidden administrative account and have disabled all User account controls etc. This has fixed most of my file deleting problems but not this .exe problem. As a side effect of this problem - many Games cannot install/patch/update because their installers cannot erase .exe files which often is required during updates/patches/installations of games. I have to manually work and figure out the installation process and erase
Okay so I just tried to add a new network location in the My Computer.
I set the network address as \MYLAPTOP but the program didn't let me do that because I need to specify a folder. I don't want to specify a folder because I just want to use the root folder. So I then typed it as \MYLAPTOP\ with an extra slash at the end. The shortcut was made but it didn't work so I tried to remove it.
Now every time I press "delete" on the shortcut Explorer.exe crashes and restarts. I tried this in safe mode with and without internet access but it always crashed.
Now I'm just looking for a way to manually delete the icon through registry or some other editor.
The frustration has been for more than 2 years now. I tried to move the photo folders & files from "My Pictures" to "Pictures" but Window's geniouses did not give us that option. I do not need to click to "My Pictures" since they are ALL MY pictures. So are we stuck with this decision or is there a way which I can get rid of 1 of the folders? Same with "Documents" & "Videos".
I imported my photos from my SDCard to my PC using Picasa 3, and everything was going smoothly... until I tried to take a look at the photos! all of the photos that I've imported using this method for some reason all became greyed out! Viewing them on Picasa3, all you can see is a grey rectangle, in place of the photos. However, when using the windows explorer folder, i can see that the photos were imported correctly (it's not just a grey box, but the actual photos), but when I try to open it (using any program: Paint, Picasa3, etc), it is still a grey rectangle instead of the photos. I tried to upload the image and send it via email, and I get the same result. In my mistake, I chose to "delete the uploaded photos after uploading" option..it's my vacation photos from Croatia I'm not sure if there were any errors when I imported it... i stepped out for a bit while I was waiting for it to import. I looked around my SD card, and looked at the "Lost.dir" folder, and copied all of what's in there.I did use Glarysoft to recover the images, and I'm using a Windows 7 laptop as my computer. Also, are there other alternatives? I did save the lost.dir with all of the photo files in it, both in my SD Card, and on my laptop.
I had to sign for a Windows Live ID, which I did. I then clicked on the button to have it send me a verification email. When I got the email, it gave me a whole bunch of information about using Live ID, but didn't tell me how to verify my account. I went back to the website where I was attempting to post the question, and hit "Sign In." It gave me a place to fill in my emai and password, which I did. It then sent me back to the page where I'd entered my question. But when I clicked on the button to actually post the question up came the box saying I couldn't do that without setting up an account. Then it sent me to the page saying that my account had to be verified, and referred me to the email which was supposed to tell me how to do that, but didn't. This appears to be an endless loop.
I restarted my PC the other day (Dell XPS 8300) and then when it got the the Win7 login screen (the one where user profiles/pictures should be listed) a weird error message in wingdings font appeared. Eventually I learned to use a install/repair disc to use bcedit and bootrec from command line. Oddly, it seemed that my OS drive letter had changed from C: to E: . After a lot of research I removed a secondary hard disc I installed. The drive letter is now right, and the partition size seems right.y problem now is when windows starts I get an error saying that winload.exe cannot be verified. The error code is 0xc0000428. I've tried bootrec /fixmbr, /scanos, rebuildbcd/, /fixboot, with no luck. Same with start-up repair I understand that some people have been able to find a working winload replacement in /windows/system32 (sometimes called winload~1) but I don't seem to have luck.
my laptop started and installed my pc game sims 3 but before i could start told me that the computer couldnt verify whether it was the right game or not this is a brand new game how do i get my gasme to play for me?
I am having a problem (see title) and error code 0xc00000428 I am planning to have a a new install or reinstall or a COMPLETE REINSTALL of Windows 7 Ultimate.
I'm having some problems with event viewer. When I go to open it, it gives me the "Event Log service is unavailable. Verify that the service is running." error. I've tried going through the steps Microsoft gives for creating new log files if yours are corrupted. Problem is, the .evt file doesn't exist.
I've researched the problem a lot and I do have UxStyle Core installed which is patching the files necessary to install third party themes, and I have heard that this may cause some issues with the event log, but everyone I saw undo any patching and even rollback updates, go to previous restore points, etc.
I am unable to burn any image using window simage burner or roxio burnerwhen ever i write any image or any other thing to dvd. i get this error cuz i always verify after burning image or etc.i get this error :The disc image didn't burn successfully because an error occurred. my comp all of a sudden reboots and the message i get is that windows failed to start because it cant verify the digital signature of CI.dll.Status: 0xc000042I do not have the installation disc. It is a dual booted computer with two identical windows 7 x64.I use dual boot to keep my Music Creation separated from my internet and gaming OS.
I am having trouble installing Windows XP Mode on a Dell E4300 laptop with Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. For the record, I have installed XPM on multiple occasions without any issues at all, until now. Upon launching the XP Mode installer, it starts to deploy the temporary files but hangs at expanding 'sourcesxpm'. Then I get the following error: 'This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package'.
If I try multiple times, I am sometimes able to get beyond that point where the XP Mode setup screen shows up, but then I receive an error during the installation process that says: 'Source file not found: D:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxsourcesXPM. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it'. I've checked everything I could with no avail permissions, Hardware Virtualization. I also installed it on an identical machine with the same setup. Then I got a hunch that the Windows Installer might have been corrupted. So I ran the command to un-install it (msiexec /uninstall) & got the same error message as above.

I need to replace a W2K computer on a domain with a Windows 7 computer(laptop), but I want to keep the same computer name.I need the ip, username, profile to stay the same. Can I delete the computer from the domain and name the new computer that name I deleted and still keep the users profile on the new machine, as if it was the old one?
