I have an HP Probook 4520s with I5 and 4gb ram and Seven 64bit.Everithing worked fine until 2 week ago.Now my laptop show me an error in the original DVDRAM GT30L. It seems unable to install the original driver of the original HP DVD Recorder.I tryed to download a new driver from intel but ... I can't use the DVD with Seven. The DVD is in perfect working conditions because with Ubuntu it works perfectly.
i have a HP Probook 4520s (now out of warranty) and i want to bring the same to factory condition bcoz of virus issues. Now, on various forums i read there is an option of F11 for recovery manager, which is not working in my case.
1) In Disk management I can see my recovery partition (15 gb) but with no option of making it active.
2) My recovery partion is more like a folder in C: HP_RECOVERY_mountHPSF
What can be the best way to restore to the factory condition. This is a legitimate Windows 7 copy and therefore i do not want to install some other copy, also there could be issues with drivers and all.
my dvd/cd drive isnt working on my gateway fx seince updateing to windows 7 beta. i may have to wate till they update the driver but im wondering if anyone has a trick to get it to work. this is what the drivor error says.
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

I have HP Probook 4520s. I have 9 cell 7200mAh battery installed on my laptop. My laptop doesn't start up when i press power button while on battery power. When i press power button LED light (where charger cable connected) blinks four or five times and stops and laptop doesn't start but when i connected charger (AC Power) then it starts up and works normally.
I have a HP Probook 4520 running Windows 7. It had been acting funny and last week I ran the antivirus software and removed 1 virus. I had it on last night and after leaving it along for 20 minutes, I noticed programs were shutting down and then the computer itself shut off.
When trying to restart it, it sounds like a normal startup and the initial screen with the HP logo and "Press esc. for startup menu" in the corner comes up. It goes away as if it's going to continue restarting, but then that same screen just keeps flashing and it never starts.
I ran all the diagnostic tests in the startup menu and it passed all. There isn't a safe mode option in that menu.
I have a HP Probook 6550B laptop that when it starts up it prompts you to login in. I do not remember my password or the security questions. It does ask for the Bios admin password but I have no idea what that is. I have tried to remove the laptop battery, and the small watch like battery under the keyboard for (30 Minutes), removed the havedrive, and still the same problem. When I remove the battery and only plug in just the power cord it does tell me that the BIOS is invalid, but when it reboots it goes back to defaults and goes back to the user password screen.I cannot get to the BIOS setup windows, change the boot device order, nothing.
HP probook 4530S, running Windows 7 64-bit. I have an AMD Radeon HD 7470M installed. The computer isn't detecting the graphics card. Instead, it's resorting to integrated graphics, which doesn't quite cut it for gaming. [code]
I've got this HP machine a few months ago. Its the Probook 4530s.
I've formatted the harddrive and reinstalled windows a few time in hopes that it will fix this problem but it just does not seem to go away.
The windows keeps freezing for a few seconds, like the window will say "(Not Responding)" at the top...and then after a few seconds it starts working again. I checked the resource monitor and apparently the processor and memory utilization is quite low so I cant figure out why it still freezes.
Laptop dropped & out of warranty. I have read some forums and called HP they said I need to run windows 7 disc, which I don't have, she said when I do I will clear the hard drive (I hope not but, it is what it is)? Cannot get into the laptop other than the start up menu, F8 does not work so I cant back anything up (oh well). system diagnostics memory chech fine, teast 1 (Quick).. error. run/ hard drive failed.
1) Is My HD Done? or...
2) Where can i find this download software for free.
3) How can I download onto usb and then onto Laptop?
4) what is the easiest way to run it on the broken laptop?
My windows keeps getting stuck regardless of whatever software I am using. Every few minutes it says (NOT RESPONDING) at the top of whatever window that I have open. I checked task manager and there it says CPU Usage and Memory Usage is relatively low so that does not seem to be a problem.
I also checked Resource Monitor and there the only weird thing that I notice is the Disk Response time which is between 5000-8000ms for some stuff. I have attached a screenshot of that. I have run every HP Diagnostic tool and it doesn't find anything wrong with my laptop. I have formatted/re-installed windows on my system several times so I dont think the installation is a problem either.
My HP Probook 4320s laptop was purchased in October 2011 - It quickly developed the extremely annoying problem of freezing / crashing. I called the company that it was purchased it from, they asked me to do a memory test & hard drive test - they showed no errors. They then advised me to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit (it was preinstalled when purchased). I reinstalled it, & downloaded all of the drivers from the web (a painfully slow experience on Kenyan internet...!!). After installing all of them - it's still happening! Sometimes if left for a couple of minutes it will start to work again, sometimes it needs a reset with the power button.
I had purchased HP Probook 4520 in september 2010 from kenya with Pre Installed Windows 7 Pro 32 bit.I want to upgrade to windows 7 Pro 64 bit.HP didnt provided windows 7 boot disk and license key.
In Disk Management it shows me 4 Primary Partions: System Partition as Active Primary partition 300 MB NTFS C: Primary Partition NTFS HP Recovery Tools Primary partition NTFS HP Tools E: Primary Partition on FAT 32
After Running Key generator i got the windows CD key and OEM Product Id tied to CD key.
My question are:
1.Can i upgrade this to 64 Bit windows 7 Pro and How.
2.Can i use 64 bit Windows 7 Pro downloaded from Microsoft site and enter the CD Key.
i recently got a computer from my aunt, and decided to put windows 7 on it. Before I installed it, I put in a Geforce 8800 graphics card and a (2nd) cd rom drive. After 20 failed attempts to install windows 7 (it kept freezing at the completing installation part) it worked after i disconnected the new graphics card and one of the hard drives. Now, however, i keep on getting periodic blue screens with the following error messages : Memory Management, and PFN_List Corrupt. I ran a memory diagnostic and it said that the memory is fine. What is wrong with my computer? I also ran a system repair thing from the windows 7 disk, and it came up with this error: System File Integrity Check and Repair Error Code 0X490
My Hardware is:
AMD Anthlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ 2 Hitachi HDT725032VLA SCSI 320 gb hard drives Nvidia Geforce 8800 GS Graphics Card 3gb of system memory
when i click format a 150 gb partition space in disk management option i recieved the following message "An unexpected error has occurred. Check the System Event Log for more information on the error. Close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer". and the drive does not appear like other drives in MY Computer?
I have already reported to Sony to but i heard their take their time but thats the one thing what i dont have at the moment so i know many people here know about that stuff to. So anyway. Some time ago SP1 launched for Windows 7. I installed but it but something went it wrong and it didn't install correcly and then i was forced to use System restore. Everything worked and i haven't used SP1 because i don't want to risk screwing up my computer before some important things, i got plenty of time later for that . The problem is after the system restore every time Vegas launches i get a error : Sony Vegas pro 10 an error occurred starting Vegas Pro Error 0x80070002 (message missing).
i have a toshibio satelite model # psc16c02q00m, I've tried to reformat my computer, i have the back up Disk and when i started my computer i press F12 to get the boot bios where i made it boot from disk putting my back up cd#1 into there. it was working fine till i put in disk three, from there i got a F3-F200-002 Error said an error has occurred please press OK to turn off the computer. and that is the only option. ive tried repeating the process but now all i get to is this screen even when i try to but off the hard drive im assuming my windows has been cleaned.
Recently whenever I've used an .exe installer I'll get an error as soon as I click start after choosing the directory, in the picture example I include below, it's of SA-MP, but it happens with any installer I try and use. Installers have worked previously, it's only recently it's stopped working. The error is;Error opening files for writing?
What I've tried;
-Full system scan with Comodo AV.
-Revealed hidden files and folders.
-Run the installer in both compatability (Even though it does work on Windows 7, and as an Administrator).
-Also done the scan on CMD (can't remember exact command).
I am trying to run a certain program and it worked previously for a few days, and then today all of the sudden its giving me this error. Is this a windows thing I can try and fix? Or is it program specific (this program doesnt have much support unfortunately)
I recently re-installed windows and am now trying to install the DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010). All goes well, it installs everything, but as it finished I get this error: I have tried redownloading, using other installers and updating my graphics drivers. Nothing will work. It's probably worth mentioning that the first time I tried installing, about a week ago, my computer totally froze in the middle of the install and I had to force restart.
I am having difficulty with drivers on my Acer Aspire 5253 system using Win 7. It is a couple months old. Within the last month, I have been getting random blue screen of death error messages in which the computer shuts down to prevent damage. The computer boots up fine without any problems. The blue screen that I see contains the same information each time.
I have Windows 7, Live Mail. Mail with attachments come in with no problems, like photo attachments, but my mail will not go out with photos attached. They are not huge files. I get an error message "error/tasks" but then that screen freezes.
Just installed windows 7 about a month or so ago, running great, only every now and then if my system is idle and I wiggle the mouse to make it come back on , it just reboots automatically[CODE]
