View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got this HP machine a few months ago. Its the Probook 4530s.
I've formatted the harddrive and reinstalled windows a few time in hopes that it will fix this problem but it just does not seem to go away.
The windows keeps freezing for a few seconds, like the window will say "(Not Responding)" at the top...and then after a few seconds it starts working again. I checked the resource monitor and apparently the processor and memory utilization is quite low so I cant figure out why it still freezes.
My windows keeps getting stuck regardless of whatever software I am using. Every few minutes it says (NOT RESPONDING) at the top of whatever window that I have open. I checked task manager and there it says CPU Usage and Memory Usage is relatively low so that does not seem to be a problem.
I also checked Resource Monitor and there the only weird thing that I notice is the Disk Response time which is between 5000-8000ms for some stuff. I have attached a screenshot of that. I have run every HP Diagnostic tool and it doesn't find anything wrong with my laptop. I have formatted/re-installed windows on my system several times so I dont think the installation is a problem either.
I need the drivers for hp probook 4530s
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Probook 4520 running Windows 7. It had been acting funny and last week I ran the antivirus software and removed 1 virus. I had it on last night and after leaving it along for 20 minutes, I noticed programs were shutting down and then the computer itself shut off.
When trying to restart it, it sounds like a normal startup and the initial screen with the HP logo and "Press esc. for startup menu" in the corner comes up. It goes away as if it's going to continue restarting, but then that same screen just keeps flashing and it never starts.
I ran all the diagnostic tests in the startup menu and it passed all. There isn't a safe mode option in that menu.
My laptop screen flashes on and off for a second or so every so often, it has never done this before. What can I do to correct.

It does ask for the Bios admin password but I have no idea what that is. I have tried to remove the laptop battery, and the small watch like battery under the keyboard for (30 Minutes), removed the havedrive, and still the same problem. When I remove the battery and only plug in just the power cord it does tell me that the BIOS is invalid, but when it reboots it goes back to defaults and goes back to the user password screen.I cannot get to the BIOS setup windows, change the boot device order, nothing.

1) Is My HD Done? or...
2) Where can i find this download software for free.
3) How can I download onto usb and then onto Laptop?
4) what is the easiest way to run it on the broken laptop?
i have a HP Probook 4520s (now out of warranty) and i want to bring the same to factory condition bcoz of virus issues. Now, on various forums i read there is an option of F11 for recovery manager, which is not working in my case.
1) In Disk management I can see my recovery partition (15 gb) but with no option of making it active.
2) My recovery partion is more like a folder in C: HP_RECOVERY_mountHPSF
What can be the best way to restore to the factory condition. This is a legitimate Windows 7 copy and therefore i do not want to install some other copy, also there could be issues with drivers and all.
My HP Probook 4320s laptop was purchased in October 2011 - It quickly developed the extremely annoying problem of freezing / crashing. I called the company that it was purchased it from, they asked me to do a memory test & hard drive test - they showed no errors. They then advised me to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit (it was preinstalled when purchased). I reinstalled it, & downloaded all of the drivers from the web (a painfully slow experience on Kenyan internet...!!). After installing all of them - it's still happening! Sometimes if left for a couple of minutes it will start to work again, sometimes it needs a reset with the power button.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Gateway FX6801-05 which originally had Wiindows Vista installed. I purchased a complete Windows 7 ultimate (not upgrade, not OEM) from eBay. I wiped the disk then installed and verified it without a hitch. Automatic updates has been working fine.Yesterday I changed some things around on my motherboard. When I booted Windows 7 Ultimate, which has been installed on my computer for several years now, it reported that my copy of Windows was invalid. Apparently the motherboard remembered the OEM Vista product number. I tried reauthorization both on the web and by phone using my new product key of Windows 7. The phone reauthorization doesn't even allow me to talk with a support person.Did I really buy an unauthorized Windows 7 ultimate, or is something weird going on here because VISTA OEM was originally installed on this computer?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently built my new computer with a friend, and I used the Hard drive and Graphics card from my old one, which had windows Vista. When we finally finished, I popped in my Windows 7 disc and selected upgrade. It tells me that I need to restart my computer normally and run it from there, but the problem is that I can't! I also don't have a Vista disc, so I can't repair my vista install, and I don't even know where to find Vista disc anymore. My only other option would be to install windows 7 but that would wipe my hard drive, and I haven't backed anything up.

Below is exactly what happens every so often and when I went to the game's support I had been told to update my drivers, using the Live Update 5 that you can DL for MSI computers, and below is also a screen shot of what the screen says and when I attempt to download one of them it will say download fail, would it be best to update the MB driver to see if it fixes the problem with the game? and if so, how would I go about finding and downloading them since Live update 5 will not work?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having a heck of a time with my new hardware. I finally got my new motherboard and CPU installed. I'm afraid I don't have the info in front of me, but I believe the motherboard is an MSI Military Grade III or something like that, and the CPU I wanna say is an A10 5800k or something like that. It's a quad-core, 3.88GHz.
Before I changed everything out, everything worked fine. I obviously knew that it wasn't going to just work right away. But this is a little ridiculous. After a while of troubleshooting, I have figured out that it keeps getting stuck on trying to load the old video card driver, doesn't find it, craps itself, and then restarts. I have a CD with all the new drivers on it, but I can't get into any form of Windows to actually install it. All of the boot menu options do the same thing. Unlike every single previous version of Windows that have an option to do a basic VGA driver boot, all of the options in this menu appear to use the driver that you have installed. So apparently, if your video driver is bad, you are boned.
It really shouldn't just be constantly rebooting like this. When I get a chance, I'm going to try and put in the old card and see if it will recognize it, because I just now thought of that as of this typing and it would definitely be worth a try..
I am going to be upgrading my motherboard, along with the processor and memory, with an existing Windows 7 installation. I always expect things to go horribly wrong, of course, so I have backed up as needed. Still, I would really rather do a successful upgrade of the OS rather than a clean install.I know with XP you can just do a repair install before letting the OS boot with the new hardware, but I have never upgraded this way with Vista, and I expect 7 is similar to Vista. I saw that it may help my chances to delete the current IDE controllers before the change ( MSFN Forums > New Motherboard upgrade with Vista ). Does that mean I just delete the relevant drivers in Device Manager? I'm not clear about exactly which drivers this entails in Device Manager. And the following link is for XP, but I'm wondering how relevant it would be on Vista or Windows 7: How to replace the motherboard on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, or Windows 2000 The new motherboard should be fairly similar otherwise, it would be updating from an AMD SB600 south bridge to an SB700, but it's staying with an AMD brand chip etc.
