Dual Boot Installation With Windows 7 And XP - Blue Screen Stop
Jan 23, 2011
I have a new Windows 7 laptop. I want to have the dual boot with XP. I'm using the following link to set dual boot: Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP. I have XP CD & I'm now trying to install XP first, to be able to use Method-1 (When XP is Installed First)
But once it reaches installing XP, I get the Blue Screen:
STOP 0000007B
0xF78D2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000
I never installed or used Win-7. I scanned with KIS2011 & it reported no infections. [URL]. There is only 1 HDD with C: having factory default Windows 7 installed. There are no other partitions.
2 days ago after I closed off my laptop lid, my laptop went into hibernation mode. After that, the laptop is having some trouble trying to wake up. I remembered I saw an error message saying something like "Windows has failed to wake up from hibernation". So I have no other choices but to restart. Ever since then, I start to get an error.
I can't get into Windows. Everytime I try, I will be presented with the blue screen of death. I tried booting in safe mode but in vain. I will get stucked at Classpnp.sys[URL]. I am using Windows 7 64 bit, Core i7, 8GB Ram, 2GB Graphics
I've been intermittently getting blue screens with the stop error 0x00000124, which the internet told me is either a driver or hardware issue. I've run memtest for 5 passes on both sticks of RAM and there were no errors. I do overclock my CPU, but my system is water cooled and the temp is always stable. In addition when not overclocked I still will get a blue screen sometimes. Here are my specs.
OS - Windows 7 x64 Windows 7 (Custom Build) Not OEM 1-2 years old 1 year. I re-install Windows every so often for tidiness.
CPU: Intel i7 2600k Video Card: EVGA Nvidia GTX 570 Super Overclocked Motherboard: Intel Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 Power Supply: Antec TruePower Quattro 850W
The zip with the jcgriff2 report is too big for the upload limit. So I uploaded it here: [URL]
Yea, said my pc was troubled... a very clean cut gentleman he was, plain blue suit with a little name tag in the upper left hand corner i believe his agent code name was
Code: STOP: c0000221 Unknown Hard Error SystemRootSystem32
tdll.dll He gave me the option of taking a dose of Startup Repair, which he recommended, or to just try things normally and maybe it would work. I chose to take the dose.
It was scary at first i admit... at first i was told that this could take up to an hour to fix and take affect, even restarting my system a few times possibly.
All in all to my delightment, the dose took less than a minute to take affect and fix my blues...... well, so far atleast
I'm using Alienware desktop with ATI Radeon 5900 graphic Card I have problem though whenever I play World of Warcraft game not always but a lot of times I get a blue screen error but before the blue screen error I get disconnected from the game then It tells me that my display adapter stopped working somehow..I don't know why then the blue screen of death appears and my pc get restarted I have this problem for 3 months now
This has been going on for a couple weeks now, not sure what it is.I'm not very experienced with computers, but I did manage to run and do all the tasking prepared on the main thread to give the information needed.I keep blue-screening, at least twice a week during small minimal tasks such as AIM and firefox usage.[CODE]I recently got the computer from a friend, so I'm not sure on the actual specs myself but I do know it's Windows Ultimate 32-bit.
I am new here and I hope I don't have to stay here for too many days.. I was excited to get my new beast of a computer I paid so much for up and running, and it gives me a BSOD on 3 different Windows CD's one minute or so into the installation.
Lately my PC has been weird, whenever i launch any game my computer just turns off but in a verry unusual way, The Screen goes black, the pc fans stop spinning, nothing is working, but my power button is still bright blue (showing that the pc is still on but its not), i press the button, nothing happens and if i un-plug the power cable, the power button stays on for about 10 seconds, then when i plug the power cable back in the pc turns on just normally like every time, but i still get crash if i launch a game, this is my pc Configuration: [code] This has been happening for a couple months now and its getting verry annoying, i'm thinking of buying a gaming PC but that costs 3,000 and i need a good working PC while i save up money.I have reinstalled Windows a few weeks after the problem accoured, it did not fix it. I also updated all my drivers, still not working...
In process of creating a slipstreamed XP Install disk, but need to get the SATA drivers for this machine, as obviously there in no floppy to use. The factory disk has 2.5 GB of drivers, which obviously is more than I need, plus they will not fit on the CD.
at the moment I got two Windows 7 installations on a single hard drive. A Windows 7 Ultimate x64 for my office applications and a seperated Windows 7 Home Premium x64 for all of my games.Windows 7 Ultimate is on the first partition (C:) and Home Premium is on the 2nd partition - it was installed from within Ultimate so it has the drive letter D:.I now want to move the second installation to a new harddrive. This would have been an easy task with the goold old boot.ini - just editing the disk and partition number (example: (0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP") to suite the new situation after moving the content of partition 2 to the second harddrive. Is there a similar command for the bcdedit to just change to target of the bootloader for Home Premium from disk(0) partition(2) to disk(1) partition(1)?
I have 2 brand new Asus K52JT laptops with the following specs:- i3 380M- 4Gb DDR3 - HDD SATA II 750Gb- ATI Radeon 6370M 1GbThey both came with Free Dos installed. On one of them I have successfully installed Windows XP , tweaking the bios to use the ATA instead of the AHCI controller. Generally the drivers work fine except for the card reader witch doesnt want to install. Being pleased with the results I have decided to leave the first laptop like this and experiment a little with the other one. What I want to do is use nLite software to inject the SATA drivers into an Windows XP installation iso to enable the AHCI controller and install. Then, if everything works fine I would like to install Windows 7 x64 on another secondary partition as the second OS.The problem is that I am not sure witch SATA drivers i need and from where to procure them.My question would be if anyone has tried something like this before and if there are any general rules or knowledge that i should be aware of.
i have Windows 7 installed which i installed it my self 24hours later i decided to install another OS a dual boot with XP (i dont know what im doing) so ive install it normally as i installed Windows 7 with DVD on but different partation location after successfully installed my computer restart the Asus logo pop up after that some long msg "OS Error" at the top left of my screen or something that i keep restarting and trying to find the SafeMode but i dont know how?(it new Motherboard) to go with SafeMode?

i m on a amd dual core 5200, abit k9n with latest bios, ati 4830, 2gb ram 800mhz (2x1)
i have downloaded from my university Windows 7 x64 version (the free copy for students build 7600) but i have also tryed 2 other versions (rc i think, both 64 and 32) with no success.
first of all, the starting installation page is very slow, after 4-5 minuts on "setup is starting" (advance mode, not upgrade), and at the second step (expanding windows files 0%)
installation crashes with blue screen:
first time i get: bad pool header error
second time i m on another blue screen: "a device driver attemptingto corrupt the system has been caught. the faulty driver currently on the kernel stack must be replaced.."
now i will try the 3rd time to install in "safe mode" and i post new info here.
if u need something more to know for helping me ill provide them as fast as possible.
I was playing a video game earlier today and received a blue screen. When the computer restarted it got stuck on the windows splash screen. I have tried just about everything I can think of to try to fix the computer. I changed out graphic card, ram, power supply for different ones but no luck. Also tried booting to last known working setup. Even restored factory image and still no luck. The computer will not boot to any form of safe mode. I also have ran start up repair numerous times but comes up empty handed.
my dell computer xp windows 7 when i try to boot up it will just get to blue screen but does not bring up accounts or allow to boot up any further then blinks or flashes blue to black screen and back. I can boot in safe mode and i have scanned computer with mal-ware, mcafee, and eset scanner . have not found a virus. I did lose the ability to watch you-tube videos, and the last error i got was adobe crashed. i don't know what to do from here. I have windows disk and thought about booting from it and doing a system repair but when i put that disk in i do not have the system repair option just an installation option.
I have an HDD hooked up to an MSI MOBO using a sata cable, I am trying to upgrade vista 32 bit to a windows 7 64 bit because I have 8 gigs of ocz ddr2 ram and other upgrade I have done over the years, plus I am game hard. I turn on the comp, boot from cd/dvd. the windows 7 thing boots up and then it goes to a blue screen with flowers and stuff on it. And all I see is my mouse and that it.
I have WXP installed on my 160 GB "C" drive and then installed W7 on the 40 GB "D" drive, which of course, becomes the "C" drive for W7. I received the infamous BSOD this morning on WXP and upon reboot, it gave me the following message::
"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-ROM. Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair."
How do I get the system to boot from the XP CD when it always goes to the W7 boot manager? Once I can get it to boot from the CD, I feel that I can do the repair.
Should I unplug the "D" drive so all the system will see on startup is "C" with XP installed?
My pc consist of a 200GB drive partition, one side has Win7 x86 and the other Windows Xp, Xp recently failed on me so i had to reinstall it, So i figure I'd installed Win7 X64 Since i use this Partition to run 3D and design Software, figure i could use the memory upgrade. Setup went fine, But now it boots right into win7 x64. Please tell me i can still boot into my other win7 x86 ? I never backed up some stuff on that side.
When I start the laptop (toshiba satellite) it runs and boot logo comes up, after that a black screen with a cursor.Using one of the option that stop windows from restarting during crash I seen that the blue screen says "unmountable boot volume".I have windows 7 dvd which I used, it says to press any key to contnue, once done nothing happens, a boot logo comes again and the black screen with the cursor.
I started with Windows 7 and when the computer reboots to install Windows XP it starts the installation process then the computer shuts off? What do I do?

I have a dual boot system (Win7 &XP). I have had to recover the boot files for Win7 in the past. Now the boot screen shows a choice between 'earlier version of windows' and 'Windows 7 (recovered)'. how to remove the word 'recovered' from the Win 7 description?
I've an hp mini 110 with windows seven starter and I want to make a dual boot 7/XP...I downloaded the 32bit version of the sp3 XP and following this guide: Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP I installed on a new partition...(I didn't put the sata drivers cause when I started the usb on the boot xp started to install without problem)..after xp finished I booted but I get this error "windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem.."...when I only can see XP and It can't be opened...I tryed with the 7-system-recovery on the usb to make recovery and put these strings on prompt
but nothing, same error!!!I thought it was a sata driver issue so I downloaded the drivers and opened on the system recovery through usb but it says they can't be installed....so should I slipstream in the xp iso before install xp??
