I have an HDD hooked up to an MSI MOBO using a sata cable, I am trying to upgrade vista 32 bit to a windows 7 64 bit because I have 8 gigs of ocz ddr2 ram and other upgrade I have done over the years, plus I am game hard. I turn on the comp, boot from cd/dvd. the windows 7 thing boots up and then it goes to a blue screen with flowers and stuff on it. And all I see is my mouse and that it.
View 9 RepliesI was playing a video game earlier today and received a blue screen. When the computer restarted it got stuck on the windows splash screen. I have tried just about everything I can think of to try to fix the computer. I changed out graphic card, ram, power supply for different ones but no luck. Also tried booting to last known working setup. Even restored factory image and still no luck. The computer will not boot to any form of safe mode. I also have ran start up repair numerous times but comes up empty handed.

I can boot in safe mode and i have scanned computer with mal-ware, mcafee, and eset scanner . have not found a virus. I did lose the ability to watch you-tube videos, and the last error i got was adobe crashed. i don't know what to do from here. I have windows disk and thought about booting from it and doing a system repair but when i put that disk in i do not have the system repair option just an installation option.

Blue screen occurs whenever i try to boot my PC or try to format and install the OS.
i tried to recover the pc using system restore or the system restore drive in the PC but the same blue screen error occurs and my system crashes.
1. I was trying to defragment my registry (need to restart)
2. When the pc restarted the blure screen error poped when the starting windows logo was gone.
3. The blue screen error occurs only after the windows is loading logo or windows is starting logo is disappeared.
How do i format the hardrive and install the windows again.
i cant restore i cant format i can do nothing.
I am using windows 7 Ultimate RC official version.
I have these problems with my dell xps m1330 and I also can't boot into safe mode, what do I do? Also when I try to reinstall windows from USB it loads a black screen with movable mouse.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased an Asus U36SD laptop and replaced the hard drive with a Samsung 830 SSD. I built recovery DVDs and installed Windows 7 on the SSD using these discs. Everything had been working fine for almost two weeks, but last night I got a blue screen of death after sleeping my computer for the weekend. I have seen the BSOD after booting from sleep before on another laptop so this wasn't too alarming to me especially after ~72 hrs of sleeping. However, this morning when I woke my laptop from sleep, I got the blue screen and my computer hung on restart until it entered the BIOS settings after some period of time. In the BIOS my SSD was missing. I turned off my computer and took out the battery for a minute, and retried and was able to boot into Windows. Within a minute I got another BSOD and my SSD disappeared again.
whether this is likely an SSD issue or some other hardware issue? This laptop is a PAIN to swap the SSD in and out because you have to unplug fragile keyboard and touchpad cables to access it, so I am weary of opening up the laptop if I don't have to, but I do suspect it could be an SSD issue.
I have a problem when booting up Windows 7.
When I boot, I see the 4 particles, but after that, i get a black screen with my mouse cursor, but that's all.
If i wait for about 7 minutes, i get the login screen and everything works fine.
I haven't installed anything or done anything that could cause this.
Is this normal? I hope not because i hate waiting :P
I have read some other topics that seemed to be almost the same problem as mine. Some say you have to get a new videodriver. have done that, didn't
work. Restoring to a restore point didn't work either.
Any suggestions?

Everytime I boot up the keyboard works for me to go to BIOS or Boot menu but once I get to the login page it stops working. I noticed that people are saying disable device signature enforcement or something but I can't find that in my BIOS. I have an Asus motherboard model - M4A88t -V

View 2 Replies View Relatedthis problem happened recently after transferring around 1GBs of data into my hard drive. Nearly the end of the transfer, i realise the transfer stops at 99% so i decided to cancel it but when i clicked on the cancel button it doesn't respond and so does my desktop icons. I went on by pressing the restart button so it reboot but it gets to the starting windows screen but no animations of the 4 colours came up. Then it prompted me that my computer have problems loading windows so i selected startup repair but it get stuck at the blue flowery background with my mouse and it does nothing. I have tried AVG Tuneup as well.
additional info: computer not overclocked all on factory settings.
one day it suddenly crashed while i was watching a movie. it displayed random patterns on screen. kinda like part of the image from the video is on the screen then a black strip and random colors. I restarted the unit to safe mode and left it on and browsed the net and downloaded some big files for how many hours and nothing happened.. there are also times when windows is still loading with the windows logo on screen, it crashes. there are also times when the login screen is displayed and it crashes. it just crashes randomly! so i tried to reformat it. i deleted the partitions and created a new one, formatted it then fresh installed windows 7 ( my previous OS is windows 7 by the way) and started installing the basic drivers and after a few hours, it crashed again...thinking that the driver installed might not be compatible, i tried another fresh install of windows (same execution, delete partition, create, install OS) and this time, without installing the drivers, it crashed again after a few hours... sometimes it crashes immediately after turning it on from cold start!

View 6 Replies View RelatedBlue screen and freezing. This is happening frequently but never has any regularity to it. Sometimes happens after a couple of days and sometimes after a couple of minutes. Also sometimes with only one browser window open and sometimes with 15 or more. Happens with both chrome and firefox. Has not happened with other programs as this lapy only gets used for surfing/email/forums etc. Sometimes happens while the computer is sitting idle right after boot. Very strange.

i bought this PC 2 years ago, i experienced a bluescreen now and then but at this time i didnt really care to look into it, as i didnt know much about PC`s Anyways, since about 2 months i bluescreen almost every second day.99% of the time i bluescreen while playing a game. (Such as TF2).I can tell when i am about to bluescreen, the sound starts to "crackle", with every third crackle i experience a little bit of a short lag (i would even say, its like a really short freezing but only just a milisecond). I ran Memtest and Checkdisk, Harddrive and Memory seem to be fine.My PC is free from malware.I started to read the minidumps out:They always show 2 or 3 different drivers causing the lag.One of them is ALWAYS ntkrnlpa.exe. The other drivers usually differ.Some driver that often shows up too is halmacpi.dll.

Ok every time my computer turns of at night it installs the updates for windows and when i turn my computer on i get the blue screen. Anyway to fix this or i just will never be able to install the updates. Also im using a pirated version of windows. I also wanted to know if i get a real version of windows if ill be able to update it with no problem?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOut of the blue this morning my comp wont start up, W7 blue screens before the login screen appears and instantly reboots. No new hardware has been added. Here is what I have tried.
Change graphics card.
Change RAM.
Memory diagnostic.
System repair.
Safe mode (works).
LKGC.
Uninstall AVS video converter (only new software installed yesterday).
Uninstall Daemon Tools.
System repair from Windows DVD (fails - incompatible version).
All I'm left with is a format and reinstall if I cant solve this - safe mode works fine so it must be fixable!

I just purchased a new motherboard, processor, RAM, and power supply for my Desktop. I have been trying to boot the computer using my hard drive from my old setup which had Windows 7 on it. Whenever the computer boots it goes from the bios screen to the Windows Boot page with the logo but then it goes straight to a Blue Screen. When the Blue Screen comes up it only flashes for a tenth of a second and then restarts so I can not read it. The same thing happens when I try to boot the computer in safe mode.
