View 1 Replies View RelatedBack in the fall when I switched over to Windows 7 Home Premium x64 from Vista Home Premium SP2 x64, I installed the software for my Canon Pixma MX700 multifunctional printer. I used the original Vista driver installer disc, and despite an warning message about a "known compatibility issue" the printer and scanning functions worked fine. I use the Pixma on the LAN via a wired ethernet connection. Worked fine for occasional scanning in November, December, and January. Then for months I had no need to scan anything, just printing over the network with no problems.Last weekend I needed to scan something. I usually just push the scan button on the printer, verify the computer it's going to scan to (it lists them), and away it goes. This time my computer threw an error about the scanner driver saying the scanner wasn't on the network. Huh? If the scanner's not on the network how did the computer know it was trying to send a scan... So I bailed on that and instead used the MP Navigator EX software on the computer. It failed too, giving the "scanner not connected" error, either using Navigator's direct interface or telling it to open the scanner driver which brings up a slightly different interface (when it worked).First I went to the Canon site and d/l'ed all the latest drivers for 7 x64 and installed them. Still get the same errors. Tried setting it up to scan via USB temporary connection. If I install it that way it works, but it's not a long term solution. And it stops working after a reboot. The odd thing is the scanner works over the LAN after I set it up for USB (when using NAvigator, because the scan to lan button on the printer doesn't work of course), again until reboot.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a new Canon MX860 connected to my wireless LAN. My XP laptop can print and scan with no problems. However, my new Windows 7 laptop will print but not scan. Have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the Canon software and drivers (with firewall/antivirus turned off - as per Canon advice). The message is always the same:" Cannot communicate with scanner for these reasons-scanner is disconnected-scanner is turned off.
Have tried using Scangear Tool but it can't find the scanner-even when I sit it within 30cms of both the laptop and my wireless router. Canons last response is that it must be an incompatibility with Windows 7 as the printer works fine with XP- I have to take it up with Microsoft- Canon for the support. Canon IJ Network Utility also loaded but will not run with Windows 7 (64 bit). Also tried changing compatibility settings for all software & drivers in various combinations - but the message is the same. People on this forum resolved my only other problem with spooler errors
The scan function of my Cannon MX330 under Windows 7 is not reconized.I have installed several times the driver for Windows 7 (64 bits) from the Cannon website without any results.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHardware Canonscan LiDE 600F / Windows 7 x64 Pro?I have tried to install "LiDE 600F Scanner Driver Ver. 12.1.2 (Windows 7 x64/Vista64/XP x64)" lide600fvst641212ea15.exe (version:12.1.2 Size:12.19MB Posted:10/19/2009). But although it SAYS that it has installed correctly, TWAIN does not fire up and I am unable to use the scanner. It also makes a weird noise through the computer's loud speaker going "dee-dum" every 2 seconds.(Fwiw, the sound is like two low-ish frequency guitar strings being plucked, about 1 octave apart). Also in the Control Panel unders System the scanner dialogue is disappearing and refreshing every 2 seconds as well.It sounds to me like something is rejecting the driver, but not showing any error message to screen.- Is there any way to (permanently) "give permission" to the driver to run?
View 1 Replies View RelatedVista x64 natively supported a bunch of canon printers with x64 drivers. For some printers this support has gone under Windows 7 x64. Perhaps this will help some people ... .
I mounted a Vista x64 ISO-image/source, extracted the folder with the canon printer drivers and installed the Colorpass Z40e driver under Windows 7 x64. In my case I used this driver für a Canon Colorpass Z400e (Canon CLC 1100).
Extraxct :
- use 7zip
- under options check "wim"
- open the install.wim an verify your vista version (important if there is a 64bit and 32 bit version on the same DVD, in my case there was only a 64bit on the systembuilder DVD)
- choose the right folder and extract the canon printer driver folder with 7zip

that is it .
I'm looking for a driver (Windows 7) for my canoscan n1240u scanner. All I can find are places that want to download a "driver-checker" and offer to fix drivers they claim are out of date. I don't trust these places, and Canon itself doesn't offer a driver for Windows 7.

View 2 Replies View RelatedTrying to install Windows 7 and get hung up after clicking the "Install" button on boot-up using DVD. It loads for a bit, then tells me a CD/DVD Driver is required and can't be found. I've tried using the WindowsSystem32Drivers directory but it says no drivers can be found. I had to get the iso from a bit torrent; could it be I've got a 64 bit install disc and only 32 bit drivers? Maybe that's a dumb question but I'm trying to figure out why I can load the install up to that point from the DVD but it won't locate drivers.
