View 1 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden my computer after 1 hour freezes and crashes completely.I get a black screen of death with error code 0xc000000e Recovery Screen After i hit enter i got another message saying Your PC needs to be repaired. The application or operating system couldnt be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors. File: Windowssystem32winload.exe Error code: 0cx000000e After the error happens and I restart, the main hard drive will not show up and I have to restart again for it to show up.SO i just went ahead and formatted the PC and reinstalled windows 7 from scratch. After an hour or less the same thing happened again and also when I reboot the computer asks me to choose which windows 7 I want to log into. Why is this showing up if I formatted the disc completely (Deleted and created New disc while i was reinstalling windows 7)My main drive is a Crucial m4 SDD 2.5 128GB Sata I have 4 other drives with over 2tb each but i use this for files. Windows is installed on just the crucial HD?

View 2 Replies View RelatedCan anyone tell me if I can install an OEM Win 7 64 bit serial number on a system that was loaded from a Dell reinstallation disk? I bought the disk, and what turned out to be a bogas serial number from different venders. Now I have purchased the whole legitimate program from a vender I trust. The reason for wanting to do this involves licensing limits on other expensive software already loaded.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor days now, I've been looking to solve an issue I'm having regarding the permission settings. For whatever reason I simply cannot move a specific dll file, I then get the following message : "you require permissions from Everyone to make changes to this file" ==> it says "make changes" although all I want to do is copy and paste the dll file elsewhere...
So far, I've tried running the takeownership program, I've ran Registry Booster (who knows?), of course my user account settings are on "never notify me" AND YET I just can't copy/paste this dll file. I've got all the latest Win7 (64-bit) updates, AVG 9 AV+firewall (which I even turned off), I'm running an AMD Phenom II x4 3.00 Ghz, 4,00 GB RAM...and that's about it I guess.
Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 is required to continue. This software is available for free download at ........
what does this mean i get it everytime i start windows i cant find a way to get if off
In windows XP I remember I could specify whatever I remember of a file and I could get straight to the file I was looking for, I could only remember a range of dates, an approx size, tow or three file extension... and thats it.. the search in windows 7 is good, but only for looking files that you know are there and you just want to save time scrolling down until get it. I have been in this situation various times, but I cant stand it anymore
I am looking for an audio file (a recording of a conversation). I don't remember the name (probably the default name the recorder put on it [there fore must be hundreds of files with the same names but in different folders). The specs I remember from the file, or what I am sure it is are:
Size between 1mb and 20mb
Create and or modification date: between 2008 and 2010
File type: wav, mp3, qcp or amr (i don't remember if i convert it, if i edited it... )
In windows xp I would have found the file, but in this windows 7 something CANT be so simple and when it is forced to be, it doesn't work properly. When I try to use the "So Super duper" simple all mighty space for searches in the upper right corner... it only give me options for (despite the name itself ...) "modified date" and "size". How do I chose a range of date, a range of size various fiile type? Why its so complicated in windows 7?
Just got all the parts yesterday, put i all together today, all is running fine.Just in case i'll post the components:
Gigabyte 990fx-ud3
Amd fx-8120
Gigabyte hd8950 OC
HyperX 2x4GB 1600Mhz
So i bought Windows 7 Home Premium from the same store i got this at (Webhallen, pretty much swedens largest component retailer) to replace the standard Home edition (which i got with my "old" packard bell!).
I have 2 HDDs, one from the packard bell (1tb) and one i recieved from a friend, a 320gb seagate. I ran with both in my packard bell for a while, using the 320gb for the system. It ran without any problems. So, i boot the CD, go through the setup and format the 320GB. (I also formatted some reserved space for OEM files from the Packard bell harddrive since i won't be using the packard bell any time soon).I proceed with the installation. The copying of the files goes very quick and when it reaches the expanding of files it takes ages before it finally comes to the error:Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070017.Immedieatly i whipped up the laptop and googled it, trying the different "sollutions" to no avail, like simply trying to install again without rebooting, taking out a RAM stick and only running with one in the master slot, taking out all excess Harddrives etc etc. i also ran Memtest86, clean, no errors!
I tried install Ubuntu on it, but that didn't go well either. It loaded for ages and then i got a very strange horizontal black and white striped screen, the black stripes being jagged and pixelated.I found my old windows 7 home cd from my packard bell and tried installing with that one. Same result, Error code: 0x80070017.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently (~2-3 months ago) installed windows 7 on a brand new 1TB hard drive. This hard drive is broken into two partitions - C & G. Windows 7 is installed on C; and G is only for data storage etc. Here is the description of partition C from Disk Management:
C: Simple Basic NTFS Healthy (Boot, Page File, Active, Crash Dump, Primary Partition) 98 GB
Unfortunately, "System" is missing from that description. Somehow "System" ended up on hard drive L - an old 80GB IDE drive that has migrated from build-to-build. This drive has just started on the *hopefully* slow road to death. I decided to retire this drive when I discovered I couldn't securely erase it because it is the System partition (there is only one partition on this drive).
So, how I can relocate the system drive data to another drive (preferably C) in the safest way possible. I found a solution here: [URL]. But I don't want to copy the entire contents of L to a new drive, all I want is the data needed for booting, and to securely erase everything else on L. Looking around, it seems I may be able to boot from a Windows 7 repair disk and recreate the system files on C, but this seems risky and likely to require a full re-install if something goes wrong.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay, so this just happened out of nowhere. Nothing seems to have led up to this -- the system booted and shut down successfully, and no software updates or installs were done during the period of time it was on when it was last working. I've attempted many things, but none seem to work. /ScanOs reports no OS detected, while startup repair said the OS was booted successfully. bcdedit also shows no directories linked to "unknown". CHKDSK reports no bad sectors, so such can be discarded. This happens every time I attempt to boot to Windows 7 (Home Edition, x64). I have a copy of Fedora 17 set to dualboot with it
View 14 Replies View RelatedTrying to install Windows 7 and get hung up after clicking the "Install" button on boot-up using DVD. It loads for a bit, then tells me a CD/DVD Driver is required and can't be found. I've tried using the WindowsSystem32Drivers directory but it says no drivers can be found. I had to get the iso from a bit torrent; could it be I've got a 64 bit install disc and only 32 bit drivers? Maybe that's a dumb question but I'm trying to figure out why I can load the install up to that point from the DVD but it won't locate drivers.
